Why did the trailers get taken down? Whether Warner Bros. did this on purpose is unknown. Either way, it is a brilliant marketing ploy. Fans want to see the Big G in a serious American movie. That campy 1998 version starring Ferris Bueller won't cut it.

I dont feel that I said anything wrong and I feel have been delibrately targetted. I have been a victim of bias before as well. I think some people here can never learn to accept their mistakes. Freedom of expression is absent here.

Deadline reports that Fox made quick work of replacing their vacant director's chair and will likely be able to keep their July 18th, 2014 release date as a result. i live in Thane and had registered somw months ago for FTTH after seeing ad in papers. after several months i git a call from local mtnl exchange that they want to come home to install . what they actually did was to set up a normal tel line from some box outside the building cliaiming this was the FTTh cable and next day they connected a modem (without wifi) ARGT 1000 from Alphion Coporation and left. As i was traveling on the days they came,only my wife was at home and these guys told her that everything is set up and they tested speed and it is 5 mbps.  when i returned from my tour, i was surprised to see a normal tel line connected to the modem and the speed was just about 50 kbps !! I lodged a compliant and next day the technician came (again when i was not at home) and did something and left. that day i got a speed of 400 kbps but since then the connection stopped working. the "internet" light on the modem come on. I lodged complaint again and even sopke to the officer in Prabhadevi exchange but no remedy so far. they dont seem to know anything.

question is:

any of you have similar experience ? what was your connection (did they put the ONT in your home) or just a tel line /

what type of modem/router  did you get and what speeds are you able to get?

did they give a wifi router or non wifi ?

i did some internet search and could not find anything (not one single hit) about this ARGT-1000 router !

from what i read on internet this type of connection is called Fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) - running fibre optic cables from the telephone exchange or distribution point to the street cabinets which then connect to a standard phone line to provide broadband. is mtnl really giving FTTH or only FTTC ?

what type of modem is the correct one ? i believe the normal ADSL modems will not work with FTTH/FTTc and we have to go for VDSL modems - is this true ? if so which are good VDSL modems ?

any feedback/comments appreciated

Did bsnl change its routing or what?

In 1950, the Constitution of India provided for caste-based reservation in government jobs, but only for a decade. The idea was to then observe what social progress it had delivered and re-evaluate what measures were needed for further progress. The idea was never to perpetuate a tyranny of inherited identities. Unfortunately, as caste-based reservation degenerated into a crass tool of electoral instrumentalism, it became anathema for political parties to debate it honestly. Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi has made a radical statement in this context, that it is time to dismantle caste-based quotas. Reservation should now be based on people's economic condition. Dwivedi correctly points out that the prevailing formula does not benefit really needy persons, with all its privileges corralled by a creamy layer instead. Even more boldly, he urges Rahul Gandhi to take the lead in dismantling this dysfunctional system, which may have bolstered the boundaries of caste more than the ramparts of equality. Of course his party politics have hitherto been tied to quota expansionism, including by pushing for caste-based reservations in job promotions. Dwivedi's point is that when UPA-III is being talked about, Rahul should show Congress has the courage to replace failed, illusory policies with future-oriented instruments of justice.

 

The Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to various ministries of the central government on a PIL seeking modification of internet laws to make watching pornography a non-bailable offence.

A bench of Chief Justice Altamas Kabir and Justices A R Dave and Vikramjit Sen issued notice on Kamlesh Vaswani's petition saying existing laws had failed to prohibit proliferation of internet pornography and alleged that it was affecting the younger generation and resulting in increasing sexual assaults on women.

 

Appearing for the petitioner, senior advocate M N Krishnamani said the government urgently needed to take pro-active steps to block all pornographic websites as they were affecting the "peace of mind, health and wellness, happiness and human potential".
