Frequent Disconnection / ADSL blinking Issue on MTNL Broadband Posted: 02 May 2014 01:02 PM PDT Hi, I am a user of 849NU plan of MTNL Triband service since August based out of Navi Mumbai. All of August, i was very happy to have a lovely connection and good speeds, with a pretty good tariff. But now since the past 15 days I am suffering from very intermittent net connection. Although I am connected to the internet, sometimes the webpages take ages to open, and never open, while at other times it opens instantly. Also downloading has the same pattern, sometimes I get very good speeds of upto 200 Kbps, while other times there is no download. Although all download sites show good Triband Speed, but it is the intermittent connection that is the problem. This problem has crept up in the last 15 odd days, and I have tried everything but no change has been noticed. Has anyone else faced a similar problem, and if yes, whats the work around. The people at MTNL classify this as a slow connection problem, but that is exactly not the issue, as I do get good speeds intermittently. Somebody please help me. |

Posted: 02 May 2014 12:51 PM PDT I placed an order for Micromax Canvas 2 Plus via Snapdeal this Sunday. Since this was my first order from them so I thought of going with COD option. The order was dispatched on Monday via Delhivery. Item reached Delhi on the Tuesday night(6th). Since then its roaming across several of Delhivery's offices. Yesterday I contacted them to enquire about my delivery. The lady at the phone specifically mentioned that the delay was caused because the package got misplaced. Its natural for me to get suspicious. I wanted to open the package before handing them over the money.
Anyways, today afternoon the package landed finally at the center nearest(Janakpuri Hub) to my home. Phew. I had already called them before to enquire upon which I was reassured that it will be disapatched as soon as it arrives at their Janakpuri hub. It landed there at 3:15 pm. By 5:10 pm it had not arrived. I called them again and learnt from the talks behind the handset that there was no one to deliver it. WOW. I heard the following conversation: "Yaar us phone waale package ka kya hua? Badi transaction hai. Yaar koi hai ni deliver karne ke liye. Yaar jaldi karwa. Okay." Awesome attitude from a company which is specialised in handling logistics for e-commerce companies. Now I got a bit angry. I called them again at 6 to tell ki bhaiyaa agar aaj de rahe ho toh theek hai warna apne paas rakhna. Because I won't be able to collect it tomorrow. He said, sir we will deliver it. Now uptil now the status page kept saying that its at Janakpuri center. Just 1 minute after the call, the following status appeared: Dispatched | Aug. 8, 2013, 6:10 p.m. | Dispatched for Delivery | Janakpuri (Delhi) | Delhivery Wow. It worked. Around 6:20 I got a call from the delivery boy who was asking, sir package leke aa jaaoon? I literally facepalmed and said yaar ab bhi puchega. He said, sir I had to confirm since its a COD Item. He also mentioned that he will be able to hand over the package only when I will hand him the money. I said I will check the package first since you had yesterday mentioned about it getting misplaced. I mean how can I? I had the cash with change ready but I wanted to be sure. I said, anyways come and we will see. Around 15 minutes later these messages were posted. Returned | Aug. 8, 2013, 6:29 p.m. | Wanted to open the package before payment | Janakpuri (Delhi) | Delhivery Dispatched | Aug. 8, 2013, 6:30 p.m. | Consignee did not have cash | Janakpuri (Delhi) | Delhivery Pending | Aug. 8, 2013, 6:26 p.m. | Consignee did not have cash | Janakpuri (Delhi) | Delhivery Blatant Lies. How do they know sitting at their office that I don't have the money? Also the item never got dispatched. Liars. That's how they washed off their responsbility and put the whole blame on the customer. I just wanted to confirm. Its okay if they can't do that. I understand but atleast stop lying. I called them in anger and asked how can they lie. They had hardly any justification. More so because I was angry I was not even in a mood to listen. I said I am complaining to Snapdeal and their superiors. He said, Kardo and disconnected.
I called Snapdeal and explained them the situation. He said me to wait for 1 more day. And just now Snapdeal has closed the order saying "Item returned by customer."
Facepalm.
Lessons Learnt: COD is a mess. Avoid Delhivery and Snapdeal. |

MTNL Broadband is inserting Adphonso powered malware on all customer devices Posted: 02 May 2014 12:18 PM PDT I have MTNL ADSL broadband in Delhi. Today I saw this popup on the side when I connected online (I removed my telephone number from the image):
After looking for the inserted code, I discovered that MTNL is inserting iframes inside the webpages!
The popup is being loaded from http://www.adphonso.com/testmtnl.php?CSID=22221504@mtnl
(I changed the telephone number in the URL above) More scrips are inserted from MTNL address 203.94.243.40
The adphonso website belongs to an adversiting company and that is a big problem
Are you guys seeing this sort of popups too? If yes, do you think is it safe?
I think this way inserting codes inside webpages is not good for the privacy of users. |

Bangalore HSR Layout Broadband Tragedy Posted: 02 May 2014 12:12 PM PDT I have been staying in Bangalore's HSR layout since the last 6 years. I was staying in Sector-2 for two years where I was using Tata Indicom Broadband. Then I moved to an apartment where we had airtel broadband, for two years. Now I have moved to a sector-3, near the HSR Club in HSR Layout and my hunt for a new broadband connection has been an utter tragedy. I first went to airtel, who, within 3 days, told me that there is no feasibility for connection in the area. I then, with a lot of hopes, went to the telephone exchange where I was told that there is no feasibility for connection in the HSR Layout area as BBMP has not allowed BSNL to dig up the area for laying new cables. Next I went to Tata Indicom, who took 10 days to tell me that there is no technical feasibility in the area to provide a new connection. I am left completely baffled at this. I am staying in a prime location in HSR Layout only to find that there is no way I can get broadband? I am left with very few options now. For now, I am using an USB dongle (Reliance Netconnect). There are advertisement bills stick on electric poles for Tikona Broadband and TTN broadband. I have googled about Tikona and TTN and my perception is that they are a waste of money and time. The only option left is to go for the latest and overpriced Airtel LTE 4G broadband. Equipment for it alone costs Rs.8000 and I am not in a mood to spend that much amount (Airtel representative who sells LTE told me that it's the stuff for people who own Audi and Benz). Can someone here please suggest me something? I use moderate downloading (Maybe 10-12 GB per month?) and I have always had broadband. i don't know what to do as i am going to stay in this new house for at least a year. Please advice! |

Government claims Airtel, Idea, Vodafone 3G roaming agreements are illegal Posted: 02 May 2014 10:51 AM PDT |
Posted: 02 May 2014 10:50 AM PDT Help me. I'm getting extremely low downstream rates. I'm using 256 kbps plan. I used to get 3000-4000 kbps downstream rate. At that time I could use full 256 kbps speed. It used to swing around 25-32 KBps. Now my downstream rate stays around 350 kbps and sometimes even goes to 60-90 kbps. And I get download speed of just 4-8 KBps. I can hardly connect to internet.
I also have frequent disconnection problems. So I've disabled every modulation except G.Dmt. Hence, downstream rate stays around 350-1300 kbps. Still not enough to utilise full 256 kbps connection, I'm getting just 20 KBps out of possible 32 KBps.
However, upstream rate never really changed. It stays constant around 500-600 kbps.

Mad Men because the character of Harvey Specter is so freaking similar to Don Draper. The problem is that Specter is like 5% of what Draper is. It just does not feel solid enough. When Draper talks, you listen. When Specter talks, you hope that he would say something that would impress you. Sadly, it does not happen very often. |

Posted: 02 May 2014 08:03 AM PDT KBC makers on the hot seat, fined Rs 1 cr New Delhi: Arguably the most successful game show in Indian television Kaun Banega Crorepati was on Thursday adjudged unfair in certain aspects by the National Consumer Commission which imposed a fine of Rs 1 crore on broadcaster Star TV and the sponsor Airtel. "Star Plus TV and Bharti Airtel Limited are held to have violated the provisions of Consumer Protection Act in conducting the 'Har Seat Hot Seat' (HSHS) contest which was in conjunction with the main television show Kaun Banega Crorepati and thereby adopted unfair trade practice," the Commission presided by Justice M B Shah said. The Commission, also comprising members Rajyalakshmi Rao and Anupam Dasgupta, held that in 52 episodes of KBC-3 the telecom company and the channel made a profit of Rs 8.12 crore out of the SMSes sent by viewers to participate in the contest. "Considering the large amount of profit earned and large number of consumers affected, this would be a fit case for imposing punitive damage of Rs 1 crore," it said. Popular TV game show KBC, hosted by Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan between January 22 to April 19, 2007, was sponsored by Airtel. |

Funny Videos, Images and Jokes Posted: 02 May 2014 06:49 AM PDT MS staff There was a pilot flying a small single engine charter plane, with a couple of very important executives on board. He was coming into Seattle airport through thick fog with less than 10m visibility when his instruments went out. So he began circling around looking for landmark. After an hour or so, he starts running pretty low on fuel and the passengers are getting very nervous. Finally, a small opening in the fog appears and he sees a tall building with one guy working alone on the fifth floor. The pilot banks the plane around, rolls down the window and shouts to the guy "Hey! Where am I?" To this, the solitary office worker replies "You're in a plane." The pilot rolls up the window, executes a 275 degree turn and proceeds to execute a perfect blind landing on the runway of the airport 5 miles away. Just as the plane stops, so does the engine as the fuel has run out. The passengers are amazed and one asks how he did it. "Simple" replies the pilot, "I asked the guy in that building a simple question. The answer he gave me was 100 percent correct but absolutely useless, therefore that must be Microsoft's support office and from there the airport is just a while away." __________________________________________________________ Is Windows a virus?
