Not sure if ppl are aware but last week when I got beam installed at my place the installation guy handed over me this pamphlet which says they are also providing Cable TV services and Telephone too. Is dis IPTV?

So I just bought the MTS Mblaze wi-fi (usb dongle) 999rs plan, getting 40gb with the package. I was excited because I thought I would get speeds of up to 9.8mpbps - heck even HALF at 4.9 was a good deal. Even 4mbps is passable, but having used it for 1.5-2 weeks now and the highest I've gotten (whether it's 3pm or 4am) is 3.2mbps. That's highest mind you. Average is like 1.8-2.4mbps. That is not what I expected, although the 40gb limit helps. 

I'm in Gurgaon, DLF Phase 2 and this is the issue I'm getting. Tata Photon get's me 4-5mbps (I have it for work, and only 4GB). Is it because MTS servers are overloaded? I really wanted a data stick with high speeds, high data for less than 2k. 999 was a bargain at the time, 'acclaimed' fast speeds, huge bandwidth for the price - but now it's becoming an issue. 

I was even playing Dota 2 last few days, where my ping fluctuates between 150 to 600, essentially ruining my game (I just played a game now, before I played I had a speedtest.net ping of 94 and dl speed of 2.7mbps, but the game was awful to play in). If I use the Tata, it doesn't do this, it's extremely annoying. Have I made the wrong choice? Is there an alternative? Should I complain.. again?

What experiences have you folks had?

SpiceJet is making sure Indians continue to fly cheap this year. The budget carrier Tuesday launched an offer of base fares starting at Re 1 for travel between July 1 2014 and March 28, 2015.
The offer is avalable between April 1 and 3.
"These fares will allow families to plan their vacations and weekend trips at fares lower than train fares with joy and freedom, now that the pressure of March school exams is finally over. Recently AXIS bank has issued new credit card with pin enabled protection. now that card is not working is not working with paypal. old card was working fine but new card issued by bank isn't working with paypal. i have tried to contact the bank and they told me that card is working and activated.

Now if you got new credit card from axis bank having chip & pin enabled  and if its working over PayPal than kindly reply to me here. so, i get idea about if its only me or all.

I have been unable to open certain websites like NDTV, IBNLive on BSNL. Able to view them through proxfree website, so does not seem problem with the websites. Any know connectivity issues on BSNL now?

Guys please check these stats out, are these stats good? If it is, Is it a problem of router or line? They say that the line is fine and the modem is bad, my pings are totally ***. This time I am gonna beat the ass of the SDO....

The editor-in-chief of a leading investigative magazine is being probed over claims that he sexually assaulted a woman colleague, a senior police official said on Friday, after the media, activists and politicians urged a criminal prosecution. The case came to light after the victim complained in an email to a superior that Tarun Tejpal, founder of the award-winning weekly, Tehelka, assaulted her twice in a hotel elevator during a conference in the resort state of Goa this month.

While she has not formally complained against Tejpal, police said they decided to act on the basis of the media reports of the leaked complaint, and that Tejpal could face charges of outraging the modesty of a woman and rape.

Has anyone noticed a decrease in the upload speed on MTNL. It has been like this for about 2 weeks now. Syncing things on Dropbox has become a major pain because of this. Earlier it used to be 550-600 kbps but now it's 25--280 kbps.

Also, I am noticing a strange thing on my Freedom 800 plan. The download speed that comes in night is variable, it's usually throttled at different points each time I restart the modem/router like [0.8 mbps, 1.1 mbps, 1.5 mbps, 2.0 mbps]

I think someone has used my no. to subscribe to Quikr, and now I'm constantly receiving spam SMS from Quikr. I unsubscribed, and that too deducted my talktime balance, but still getting it. Any way to get it removed forever? Like DND registration or anything?

i changed plan from [ 6mbps upto 35gb , after that 1mbps unlimited ] to this..

but im getting around 5mbps only   which i got in before plan


 

I think i should get around 7-8 mbps ..  isnt it ??

Hello Everyone.

I am working with BSNL as a Broadband technician for the last 2 years and ive came aross all kind of modem+routers but the most peculiar i find belong to Dlink.

Whenever i try to pair Dlink DSL modem+router (4 port) with any other service provider like Airtel or our local ISP Ortel i find that most of the time the Dlink fails to work.

Recently one of my clients wanted wireless capabilities for his Ortel Cable Internet . and brought a Dlink 2750u Dual Antenna Modem +Router (4 port with DSL, its a new model not the older one). Upon configuring the device i found that only the LAN sharing was working and the wireless was not working.

So, i brought another Dlink 2750u from the office (a 3 year older  model, single antenna). After following all the steps exactly as before this time the wireless was working but not the Lan.

I called up Dlinks customer support and they told 2750u is only for BSNL. i have worked with all kind of modems from a whole different range of companies ranging from TP-LInk to Digisol to our own BSNL modem. there is no problems configuring them as a dedicated router. why does the problem exists with Dlinks modem?

Or is there anything specific i have to do with Dlinks modem? have anyone else faced any kind of similar problem?

Would be grateful if anyone can help me. i really need to answer  my clients haha

Just for a quick reference here is how i configured them:

Lan cable from cable modem to dlink modem- bringing dlinks ip range in accordance  to the cable modems ip. DHCP, NAT, tried both enabling and disabling them. no effect.

Do i need to do anything with the "Layer 2 Interface"  or "WAN service" ?

So one day i decided to cancel my airtel broadband connection to try other services,i rang up the customer care but it tried to lure me by offering me a discount on a plan.I used to pay 1400 per month,1 Mbps speed,30 GB limit but after the talk with customer care he offered me the plan of 2 Mbps,80 GB limit which is officially for 1700 at a discount of 10-20%.Also in my earlier plan i had a bill capping wherein if my call charges exceeded Rs. 300,they'd be free.I have been using this voice capping for years and the customer care promised me that i would not lose this capping upon upgrading my plan.So i agreed to shift the plan and not cancel my airtel broadband.

Fast forward 1 month,i get the bill and voila,there's no discount whatsoever and the capping is gone.I immediately call up customer care and all he could say was "sorry,we have no such plan" and he said that they are not responsible for what their other employee said and that they were sorry,they cannot refund.I asked them to at least revert to my old plan but they said i'd have to use this plan for at least 3 months before i can change it.

I thought Airtel was an honest company,their prices were a bit high but they didn't use cheap tactics.Turns out i was wrong.What can i do now?

BSNL is giving me high latency but giving speed according to my FUP.

Update: I called DE he said call to SDO I called to SDO he said call to Local SDO...now no one is giving me local sdo's number.

I'm an online gamer and i shifted from "tikona" internet to "Airtel" b'coz i heard that it's a good broadband connection to have. I was happy with Airtel connection for first 20-30 days but suddenly my ping rose by 100-200 in U.K servers to 440 (i used to get 200 ping with tikona in U.K sv) and in France sv to 320 ( again i used to get 180 in france sv ) . I don't know what to do , when i call customer care and ask them for help they simply excuse me by saying " it's the U.K and France sv problem  and that's not true cause all my other friends  have low pings than me. I don't know what to do , plzz help me guys , should i change my isp , anyone having the same problem????

I am using ZXDSL531B modem for my broadband and lan.  From sometime the modem page 192.168.1.1 is not opening. The page "The connection was reset" / "The page cannot be displayed" is displayed while attempting to open the modem for setting.  It even does not show the login page, which ask for userid and password.

My internet connection and lan is working fine on this router/modem.  I am using it on desktop [lan connected], wireless on mobile & laptop and all works fine [sometimes internet doesn't work on someday, not sure it may be due to problem in BSNL broadband].

I know the reset button at the bottom of the modem may help, but i want to avoid this option at first as a lan cable from DVR [used for CCTV] is connected to this modem and the settings that CCTV engineer may have made in the modem, will be lost.  Also presently i don't remember the password for bsnl connection.

Can anyone help please?
