Will BSNL WLL sim card work in CDMA Cellphone? Posted: 02 Feb 2014 10:47 AM PST I have been using the bsnl wll connection for 3yrs and as I understand it is a CDMA baseed technology. And during these 3 years I have atleast had to get the WLL device replaced of repaired around 10 times. And since I am using this connection in my shop it is not an inconvenience, but the long waiting periods to get the phone repaired/replaced is costing me. I was wondering if I could just pop the sim card in the WLL device into a CDMA cell phone and use it. I do realise that even if I get it to work I will still only be able to use the WLL number in my billing area/ locality. |
Which broadband is available in HSR Layout 1st Sector Bangalore Posted: 02 Feb 2014 10:46 AM PST I'm going to move to HSR Layout 1st Sector in the following week. I contacted Airtel and unfortunately they don't have network feasibility here. This absolutely surprises me to know that Airtel still don't have their network in one of the prime residential places of Bangalore. To be honest I searched all over the internet to know what all ISPs are available and there are not many. I heard of TTN network as most used broadband here in 1st Sector, but all over the internet its users are down voting and cursing it.
I hope this is my last resort to ask this question on broadband forum, if anyone is staying here in 1st Sector, do you know what all ISPs are available here? If you've heard of TTN Network, is it really that horrible as its users say?
I'm really internet starved and frustrated to my depths, this is my new home and they still don't have Airtel here. I can't stay alive on shitty Airtel 3G and expensive 4G anymore . Lord knows what the hell is taking so much time. |

PPPoe configuration Not Working Posted: 02 Feb 2014 08:42 AM PST I have had ACT Broadband for the last 1 year & have been an extremely satisfied customer. Never had any major issues & all complaints have been attended very promptly. However, the only fly in the ointment has been the login. ACT keeps disconnecting me once every 24 hours. This throws all my VPN, Remote Desktop etc out of gear. I have to manually goto portal.acttv.in & again relogin through the browser window. This has started to become very annoying as it always seems to happen when I am in the office & I need some files from my home system. My ACT broadband is connected to a WRT 54G wireless router (yes with a RJ45 jack). I saw in some threads that PPPoE can be configured for login. This is extremely helpful as my router can connect to the net automatically without requiring the stupid browser login. However, when I set up my router to PPPoe, it does not connect at all. No ip address is obtained, no error messages etc. I am forced back to use the DHCP mode & login through the browser window. Can anybody confirm if PPPoe still works ? Also can somebody in ACT change the forced login to atleast once a week instead of everyday. Its not like anybody can steal my connection. Thanks in advance for the help ScreenShot - |

Airtel FTTH enabled locations in Delhi NCR Posted: 02 Feb 2014 07:50 AM PST Does anyone has a list of locations in Delhi-NCR which are presently covered by Airtel's FTTH? I need to shift my home and I plan to choose a location which has airtel's FTTH. I want to enjoy 100 megs speed. I know signature towers in Gurgaon are covered in FTTH, been there and seen the speeds. It was awesome! But I have no clue about FTTH locations in Noida and Indirapuram. Kindly keep updating this list with newer FTTH enabled locations, as they spread out. |

The show is doing wonderfully well. I personally love it. It's different, no cheap comedy and pure entertainment.
TRP wise it's doing extremely well. Currently at the top in it's category (even above the likes of KBC, Jhalak Dikhla Ja, etc.) and overall 3rd. BTW you can watch the full episodes, trailers, etc. here - http://www.youtube.com/user/colorstv/search?query=comedy+nights Believe me, this show is amazing. You gotta watch this if you don't. |

D-Link DSL-2750U compatible with Tikona Broadband or not? Posted: 02 Feb 2014 01:49 AM PST Hi ...
i have a Tikona Broadband at home with a RJ45 connector coming out from the signal device. i have 1 desktop PC and 2 Smartphones.
I want to purchase a Router with 300 Mbps speed, with a USB port for Data card/External HDD. After gone through various websites i have decided to go for D-Link DSL-2750U Wireless N ADSL2 4-Port Wi-Fi Router.
But it is a Modem + Router and has RJ11 WAN port But on various forum i have read that this product can be use with tikona broadband. But in Wajirpur Computer Market(Delhi) all shopwala told me that this D-Link DSL 2750 is a Modem + Router and will not work with Tikona Broadband. what should i do?
Is it compatible with tikona broadband? can i go online simultaneously on my 2 smartphones and Desktop PC? what will be the limitations of using Modem+router instead of a router (If it is compatible)? Please suggest some other Routers with similar configuration, 300 Mbps(large home), USB Port for data card and external HDD.(i dont want to go for TP-Link). My range is upto Rs 2500.
Please Help me out from this confusion. Thanks & Regards Ashwani |
Recommend me an internet plan @ CHennai ! Posted: 02 Feb 2014 01:39 AM PST Hi guys,
Iam from Adamabakkam, Chennai. I have been seeing this forum for quite some time and decided to ask u guys for teh same old question. What ineternet plan ??
Iam currently using BSNL ( not exactly because my ineternet is always down these days ). My plan is 750UL with FUP of 6gb @ 1 mbps and @512 kbps beyond that. The problem is BSNL BB has become unreliance in terms of connectivity and support ( even to my friends). So Iam right now looking for a plan which is good enough for my usage.
My requirements:
1. A decent FUP limit > 20 GB
2. Atleast 2 mbps
3. Cheap
4. Support
5. Should not be a headache like BSNL
I don't game much. I download a decent amount of movies and other stuff. As Iam working, I will not be using for the whole day. But whenever Iam at home, My system will be downloading something.
Recently I came across ACT and Tikona. Heard they are cheap and decent. Pls suggest me some ideas guys. Need ur help ! |
Dlink 2750U to Hathway Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem - Wireless Access Posted: 02 Feb 2014 12:51 AM PST Hi,
I have just subscribed to a new Hathway Docsis 3.0 plan. Its working fine when i am plugging in the Cat5 cable directly into a laptop. Getting speeds of 38Mbps.
I am trying to configure my existing Dlink 2750U to enable wifi access for this connection. I have tried virtually all the options suggested on this and other similar forums.
quick summary of options tried
1) Using group Interface option suggest on a Trikona BB forum 2) Flashed Dlink to ME firmware to setup ethernet interface 3) Directly plugging laptop and modem to Dlink router ports and disabling DHCP server functionality in the router
So far i have been able to get internet through the wired connection from Dlink (i.e. Dlink is wired to Hathway cable modem and laptop is wired to Dlink).
However once i do that i am unable to connect through the wireless. My android phone keeps alternating between obtaining ip; Authenticating and poor internet connection avoided. I also tried to force it to connect by aping all IP settings as pulled automatically when connecting laptop through wired network.
I suspect the issue maybe one of these (or something altogether different)
1) Unlike the wired connection; my android phone is unable to obtain IP/DNS settings when connecting through wifi 2) Something to do with MAC ( less likely - as i have no login requirement whatsoever) 3) DNS: I suspect this might be the biggest issue. i have tried to hard code DNS into both laptop/router but doesnt seem to help
Will really appreciate it if someone can help me resolve this.
Thanks |
