BBNL - New Plan spotted in RT Nagar ( 25 mbps - FUP 60 GB @ Rs.999 pm ) Posted: 18 Feb 2014 11:30 AM PST I spotted a banner in RT Nagar, Bangalore today morning which advertised a new speed plan from BBNL - A 25 mbps @ Rs.999 pm.
When I enquired, I got to know that there was a FUP at 60 GB. Forgot to check what the speed would be post 60 GB data limit
I believe this has been introduced initally for RT Nagar and it would take couple of weeks before this plan is offered in other parts of the city.
With this plan, BBNL has cocked a snook at ACT Broadband( which offers 25 mbps -60 GB at Rs.1349 ). Its good to see such competition |
Posted: 18 Feb 2014 11:26 AM PST A BBNL technician recently told me that FTTH will be introduced soon ( possibly by Jan/Feb 2014 ).
With 'fiber to the home' I am hoping consistent speed ,bettery quality and hopefully lesser down times.
Existing modem will be replaced with a fiber optic modem and the technician says it would be a free replacement. He also said that faster speed plans apart from the current max of 10 mbps ( unlimited download ) are also in the anvil.
Cheers to BBNL!

Currently on a 10 mbps( unlimited download ) plan.

I am stuck with bsnl with 1350 4mbps 20gb fup plan Am I making the step in the right direction or I shouldn't go for tikona 4mbps 80gb then speed around 1-2 Mbps? If anyone from Nagpur is experienced with tikona then please tell me your experience as I am scared a bit after reading the complains about tikona. |

Funny Videos, Images and Jokes Posted: 18 Feb 2014 08:41 AM PST MS staff There was a pilot flying a small single engine charter plane, with a couple of very important executives on board. He was coming into Seattle airport through thick fog with less than 10m visibility when his instruments went out. So he began circling around looking for landmark. After an hour or so, he starts running pretty low on fuel and the passengers are getting very nervous. Finally, a small opening in the fog appears and he sees a tall building with one guy working alone on the fifth floor. The pilot banks the plane around, rolls down the window and shouts to the guy "Hey! Where am I?" To this, the solitary office worker replies "You're in a plane." The pilot rolls up the window, executes a 275 degree turn and proceeds to execute a perfect blind landing on the runway of the airport 5 miles away. Just as the plane stops, so does the engine as the fuel has run out. The passengers are amazed and one asks how he did it. "Simple" replies the pilot, "I asked the guy in that building a simple question. The answer he gave me was 100 percent correct but absolutely useless, therefore that must be Microsoft's support office and from there the airport is just a while away." __________________________________________________________ Is Windows a virus? Posted: 18 Feb 2014 08:06 AM PST After treating patients with Jadu ki zappi in part 1, and doing Gandhigiri on-air in part 2, the script of part 3 of Munnabhai series has changed. And its not in reel world, but in real world. In reel world Munnabhai was planning to reach America, but he changed his mind and instead planned now to reach Indian Parliament. Sanjay Datt aka Munnabhai is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Lucknow, seat held by former PM Vajpayee, through ticket from SP (Sanjay Dutt all set for political debut on SP ticket). Another superstar (from Bhojpuri movies) Manoj Tiwari is also given ticket from Gorakhpur. BTW Amar Singh is interesting character, Amitabh treated him father and Sanjay Dutt treats him elder brother So would Sanjubaba make it to Parliament, or just a end his minor stint in politics with the high profile elections? |

Posted: 18 Feb 2014 03:38 AM PST Feedback whether positive or negative should be passed to the appropriate person. That's what I believe in.
This is the timeline of how my installation experience has been with ACT BB.
11 Nov-2013 - I applied for a new ACT BB connection today in Kundanahalli Gate, Bangalore. I will keep you posted on the developments.
11-Nov-2013 - Cheque payment made to Sales executive, Babu Reddy, details filled on form and submitted to him.
12-Nov-2013 - At 1616 hrs, IST I receive a call from Mukund who is the ACT technician saying that the wiring has been completed to my apartment on the third floor and i would be receiving a call today at 1700 hrs, IST for username and password. Mukund confirms that I can use my internet connection from tonight. http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/netgear-wgr614-54-mbps/4505-3319_7-21218238.html
In case, someone wants to have the contact details of the sales person & field engineer of ACT for Kundalahalli area, let me know. Speed test shows rocking upload and download speeds. I am on Act Force plan.
12-Nov-2013 1159, IST - First level checks indicate amazing speeds with YouTube where I can watch videos without buffering in Full HD. I will keep posting various workloads I consider to be bandwidth intensive and would update this thread.
Any downtime or disconnections will also be reported. |

Feedback on Micromax LED TV - 39K20FHD? Posted: 18 Feb 2014 01:46 AM PST Hello Friends, |
Posted: 18 Feb 2014 01:21 AM PST recently i got this spectranet connection. They did underground fiber optic cabling and started the service called spectranet FOX in my area. the plan is 12 to 16 mbps for 6 months. looking at the speeds they will provide, i got my airtel BB service discontinued.
I AM HIGHLY DISSATISFIED WITH THE CONNECTION.
1) promised speeds 12-16 mbps ,you never get the promised speeds throughout the day. even right now i am getting just 3-5 mbps. why do ISPs do this? come on! if you dont want to give constant speeds then why the hell do you have to make false promises? when they visit your home for a demonstration, such good marketing skills, overselling their product, promising this and that. but when it comes to the connection, its very poor.
2) its a daily glitch in the connection. from timings 9 pm to 12 pm i always get very low speeds like 1 mbps and very high pings touching 200 ms. i've got to play online games , but with such a pathetic ping im not able to play the games properly. and this is very irritating! and this happens everyday
3) when i had the airtel connection i used to watch alot of youtube, surf internet and the data limit was 8 gb. with these activities not even half of my data limit was used, and around 4-5 gb was left unused per month.seldom, i used to download movies because once the data limit was reached, then speed degraded to 256kpbs(reason to change spectranet ISP). using this connection, in last 1 week the 5 gb of data usage has been shown in my spectranet account(5gb data volume used) i myself have downloaded around 700mb of data THAT'S IT! i can accept even if i had watched 1080p HD videos on youtube, i could accept that i could've consumed data but still cant find what has used 5gb. if it could've been a theft over wi-fi, but whenever i am at home i connect through LAN cable and switch of the wifi service and whenever im not at home i switch off the router. then how come 5 gb of data has been consumed?! and i cant buy this fact that ONLY net surfing at watching videos on youtube would've consumed so much of data. i really find that spectranet is a cheat on this part.
if someone using the same net plans from spectranet and facing the same issues please reply and put forward some solutions to my problem, so as how to get the promised service from my ISP.

Micromax Canvas 4 - Accessing the Internal storage Posted: 17 Feb 2014 10:21 PM PST Hello
My Canvas 4 got delivered yesterday. Pretty cool phone at this price (Rs 14399) loaded with tons of features.
However, when I connect the USB to my MAC OS X 10, it does not detect the internal storage. In my HTC one V, it used to detect automatically. Is there any setting I need to turn on to access the storage?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance |
