Casting is awesome. And it was great to see Caroline Dhavernas after such a long time. Been a fan since Wonderfalls. |

WhatsApp/Hike on Android tablet? Posted: 19 Jan 2014 10:03 AM PST I gave my MMX smartphone to my father as his Samsung is about to die. Now looking for a phone. While searching FK for phones this idea came to my mind.
I am thinking to get a basic dumb phone for 1.5k and a proper 10" tablet.
Does chatting clients such as WhatsApp messenger and hike messenger work on Android tablets?. I know its not officially supported. But can I install using .apk files?. Incase it works, will I get app updates?.
Tried my best to push father's Sammy for next few months so that I could get Ubuntu phone. But that shitty Samsung is not listening to me :-(. |

Posted: 19 Jan 2014 08:59 AM PST Suits (TV series) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Finished first season. It reminds me of two shows... First Collar on how it is presented. Mad Men because the character of Harvey Specter is so freaking similar to Don Draper. The problem is that Specter is like 5% of what Draper is. It just does not feel solid enough. When Draper talks, you listen. When Specter talks, you hope that he would say something that would impress you. Sadly, it does not happen very often. |
Beware, ACT downgrades your speed before reaching FUP Limit, It happened twice to me. Who's next? Posted: 19 Jan 2014 07:58 AM PST ACT Customer id : 10598129
My Oct,2013 month usage : 54.18 GB My FUP limit : 60 GB (ACT Indulge plan)
My speed was reduced to 512 Kbps on Oct 27th and again on December 29th even before reaching FUP Limit. I called customer care several times. They said the usage details are ''delayed" by 24 Hrs and I may have reached the FUP Limit at server (Pathetic and I accepted because I don't have proofs) I've proofs with the total usages which I got from "My usage". Every time when my usage is around 54GB, my speed goes to 512Kbps I've suffered with Low Speeds. from 25 Mbps to 512 Kbps even before reaching FUP Limit??? Guys! Beware of ACT or if you already have ACT, keep watching your "My Usage" |

ACT Broadband Bangalore Reviews Posted: 19 Jan 2014 06:28 AM PST Hello Readers, My name is Vivek Sinha Anurag and i am going to post some "great" work shown by Act Broadband. I applied for ACT Broadband 5 Mbps plan [its having cap value of 35GB after that speed will reduce to 256 kbps] by calling their customer care on 16th Aug 2011. I was surprised to see their lightening fast response as the representative came to my doorstep the very next day and on 17th Aug 2011 Mr Ashitt O.S. collected the money and documents and told me that withing 5 days i will get my connection and i even got sms confirmation that my request no is 142263. Now the real story started. Even after 6 days no one ever bothered to check my request so i called customer care [ 080-42840000] to remind them and i was told that i will get it withing next 2 days. I waited for next 2 days and called them again. I was surprised to learn a new technical term from them that they are "Uploading network" hence its taking time and soon i will get my connection. Since my work was getting affected because of their delay i applied for a BSNL connection too. Now today is 5th September and i am still waiting for the connection and to my surprise i got the BSNL broadband last week. I tried escalating this matter and asked the customer care for any high level contact and they said that i need to mail helpdesk@acttv.in. I emailed them but i got no response. Please note some points regarding ACT broadband before applying ACT broadband 1. They dont have nodal officer/appellate authority [against TRAI rules and i have already escalated this matter to TRAI officials with the help of pgportal.gov.in] 2. They have a customer base of 2500 users in bangalore and they are not able to manage even this small number. 3. They DO NOT PROVIDE STATIC IP [even if they claim to do so] 4. Their customer care service is useless. All you will losse is your balance by talking to them 5. They can "Upload network" [You can imagine the understanding capability of their technicians] 6. They are fast in collecting money but lazy in delivering service Final conclusion: To be on safe side stay away from them else you will suffer like me. Morning shows the day and even before using their service i am suffering. Don't know what will happen when i get the connection and i face any problem that time. |
BSNL EVDO speed is pretty decent in the morning Posted: 19 Jan 2014 06:06 AM PST
If they can maintain the speed 24hours it would be great
STV used: Rs55 Unlimited
On website its written 1day unlimited but those who have used it might know already that its 2days unlimited
BSNL still the best in Wireless Broadband No TataPhoton, Mblaze or Reliance Netconnect can beat BSNL EVDO |

Doubts on BSNL EVDO | Guys Help! Posted: 19 Jan 2014 03:49 AM PST Hey Guys, I'm new to this forum, so forgive me in-case I make some mistake. Before I used live in HAL area where all the broadbands were available and i had BSNL with the 750 plan, I was quite satisfied with it.
Recently, I moved to a new area, AECS Layout Block B,Singhasandra,Bangalore-68(Check it out on G-maps).... Well the first shocker was that in this area there is no company which provides internet till date(Not even BSNL )
So i had to out of my way and buy BSNL 3G and Relance Netconnect... Both give good speed(Full signal for both), with 5 GB limit...
Recently I came to know about BSNL evdo from their site and it says its truely unlimited(YES, I'm fed up with the 5 GB limit, since if actually enter something like YouTube, Poof! 5 GB's Gone in 3 Days)
So here are my Queries:
1.I get full signal strength in BSNL 3G and speed ranging from 5-7.1 Mbps i.e 500-710 KBps download speed(My device itself can handle max of 7.2 Mbps)... So will I be getting the same signal strength and download speed? (i.e 1-3 Mbps-Since evdo gives max of 3.1 Mbps)
2.Any router you suggest that i can put the sim into and it gives me wifi directly?
3.How do i test BSNL EVDO without spending much money?
Thank You guys so much in advance.. Pls. reply fast... I also need time to convience my parents to buy EVDO again... Also it would be nice if you could pm me some ISP that provides internet in this area |

Airtel IPTV installation with D-Link DSL-2750U Posted: 19 Jan 2014 02:18 AM PST Frustrated with the Wi-Fi performance of existing Airtel Provided Router Beetel 450TC1, I purchased and installed a D-Link DSL-2750U WiFi router and succeeded in configuring WiFi and LAN access for all my data devices.
I examined all the WAN connections on my old router and updated them in the new D-Link router as shown below: ================================================================ VPI/VCI VLAN ID ENCAP Service Name Protocol State Status ================================================================ 1/35 0 LLC PVC:1/35 Bridge 1 Connected 0/35 0 LLC PVC:0/35 Bridge 1 Connected 1/32 0 LLC PVC:1/32 PPPoE 1 Connected ================================================================
The problem I am facing is that the IPTV STB is unable to log into the system successfully every time it is turned on. By trial and error I have identified that the STB logs in successfully if I switch on the router & STB at the same time.
I suspect the problem could be with the router. Either it blocks some traffic from the STB required for logging in OR it fails to detect the device (STB) connected to the LAN port. It would be great if someone can share their experience of making Airtel IPTV work with D-Link DSL-2750U WiFi router in a problem free setup.

Issue with D-Link DSL-2750U with Macbook Posted: 19 Jan 2014 01:20 AM PST Hi,
I have a D-Link DSL-2750U router with modem. I have a Macbook Pro laptop. Suddenly my Macbook Pro has stopped detecting the Wi-Fi connection. it is detected by my desktop, PS3 and phone but not by Macbook. Also, I tried using a netgear wi-fi modem and detected that. Earlier it used to detect it fine. Any idea what might be the issue? |
