Use of relinace netconnect + as wifi for multiple object Posted: 18 Nov 2013 12:05 PM PST I have reliance netconnect + which I suppose is CDMA. I want to use it for multiple connection. I tried creating adhoc network, connectify lite but none of it worked. I could not access wifi internet through this mode.
Can you help me if through wifi router I can use it for multiple connection. If yes then provide the name & source to buy it.
If there is any other solution let me know.
Thanks

PUBLIC ADVISORY ISSUED IN GENERAL INTEREST OF EVERY BSNL USER Posted: 18 Nov 2013 11:43 AM PST PUBLIC ADVISORY ISSUED IN GENERAL INTEREST OF EVERY BSNL USER
1 Reserve your daytime internet activity to web browsing i.e dont do any heavy downloading like movies, videos etc and try to limit your usage within 2 GB. if possible,* .
You may want to reserve** some last left usage for emergencies like rail reservations, quick research for tomorrows test or the latest Lady Gaga video etc
2 Likewise Facebook, Skype and other SM sites consume lot of bandwidth so beware when socializing
3 Sometimes after logging into your Selfcare a/c, don't PANIC if you see : a. incorrect usage b. inflated bill etc. c. increased day limit
this only means we are striving hard to provide better Customer Service by constantly experimenting and meddling with our resources***
4 Never trust our guy at Customer Care *# to whatever he says
5 Don't pester our hard working*^ employees by frequently visiting them in their offices in their lunch time and nagging them about your small problems.
Their time is too valuable to be wasted on a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ *^^ customer . Stick to basics and use ur COMMONsense
6 The plan BBG FN600 combo night plan has been reported to to induce widescale Insomnia*! amongst its users . Bsnl cannot be held liable for ur sleep cycles.
7 For change in plans, migration, query. complaints please apply through a proper channel. Do not use selfcare for these purposes and be sure to confirm the charges of doing so, with us personally (seriously guys a personal approach is sometimes good)
8 Suggestions for improvement and efficiency would not be tolerated at any cost
Terms and Conditions* *we are just acting subtle by the use of the words 'if possible' **believe us we do not care for your overusage, we are only happy to bill you even more and to be a part of you in times of your discomforts, (sukh me bhi, dukh me bhi… sath na chode na kabhi) ***we are still not sure how these technology or software works in our server room. We do not have such trained staff to handle such complexities *# if you are ever lucky to get hold of one *^er we are are not sure what this word means and do not expect you to remind us of its meaning. *^^ there can be millions of permutations and combinations to this word. Opera Browser and Opera Mail are now two separate apps Posted: 18 Nov 2013 11:39 AM PST It has been more than two months since the release of last preview from the Opera Stable. And the latest preview seems to be more aimed at making the first view of the opera browser more simple for new users. User Interface has been thoroughly redesigned yet again with fewer options on the front end. Complicated settings have been moved to deeper levels of options. Some of the most noticeable features are close button on the tabs, a popup blocker notifier. Popup blocking is enabled by default now on fresh installs. There is a new recycle bin button, which lists the blocked popups and closed tabs, giving easy accessibility. And M2 (Opera Mail Client) users will like the updated auto-resizing reply box in the mails. Another interesting feature are the security icon (padlock) and RSS icon that comes in the address bar itself when on a secure page or a page correctly linked to a valid RSS newsfeed. For more information, the Changelog is located here. Users can download the new beta from the Opera Forums Post. However, considering this is a preview release users are not recommended to use this browser for critical purposes. http://snapshot.opera.com/windows/w760p2.html | http://my.opera.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70665 Opera Software releases Preview 2 of Opera Browser 7.60 |

BBG FN COMBO 600 speed is very slow Posted: 18 Nov 2013 11:18 AM PST I am getting a very low speed on BBG FN COMBO 600 connection. I have tested it in "http://speedtester.bsnl.co.in/" and it shows as "417.10kbps" = "52.14 KB/sec" which is very slow. Expected is "2Mbps" = "200KB/sec". What should I do ? Can someone throw some light on this ? Has anyone experienced this earlier ? |

Windows 8/8.1 activation after PC upgrade Posted: 18 Nov 2013 10:35 AM PST So, I am upgrading the core components of my existing PC (CPU, Motherboard and RAM to be more specific). I had bought Windows 8 license during the Rs.699 offer, which is an upgrade license I suppose. It got activated without issues when I had once reformatted my current PC and installed it afresh. Now coming to the point, after upgrading these components, the PC would act as new right? Will I face any issues while activation? Has anybody done it?
I would be trying a fresh install using the Windows 8.1 ISO. Would be following the steps done by Sushubh which he had mentioned in another thread, was successful.
Any more info would be appreciated. |
Posted: 18 Nov 2013 10:34 AM PST I know that we need to activate the imobile App of ICICI for netbanking via registered mobile
Questions a) Can only the mapped mobile phone should be used over GPRS for activate - The answer I believe is yes, as my friend said it does not prompt him any ID or anything, but directly activates over GPRS (using mobile number linked to bank account)
b ) Once it is activated, can we use over WiFi, also what about other 3G/2G connection once activated using mapped mobile (Example data plan on alternate sim). |

Authenticity of Hathway HD STB provideo by LCO? Posted: 18 Nov 2013 09:49 AM PST Hi All,
I have recently installed Hathway HD set top box through my LCO. I paid him 4500/ for the box. I already had Hathway STB and now I just got it replaced by HD box. The HD picture quality is quite good but I am not happy with STB channel pictures quality. I think its really bad compare to what I had seen on my STB. First i thought it could be because subconsciously I am comparing it with HD quality but I guess that's not the case; actually today my mom's friend came home and she saw our new HD set top box and she informed my mom that they have these boxes for sell at their shop (they have a mobile-cum-accessories shop) and this cable guy buys these set top boxes from them for 2000/ and sells it to the customers. Now I am slightly worried about the authenticity of this set top box provided by the LOC. He had told me that he procured it from Hathway office. But now I am not sure if he was telling me the truth.
Is there any way we can authenticate the genuineness of these boxes? I tried looking for Hathway HD models and pictures online but couldn't find anything substantial to clear my doubt. Found only one picture of HD box on Hathway website and it's different from the box which has been installed in my home. But I guess the picture on website could be of old HD box and perhaps the model installed at my house is the latest model which has not been updated on the website. Actually I am not really sure how to figure out if I have the original HD box which is worth 4500/-
I would be glad if someone who has bought the Hathway HD box recently from Hathway office or from the LOC could put couple of pics of the model or may be some specification about the model to help me cross verify the authenticity of the model provided by my LOC.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Gopi could be please help?
Regards, Ameet |

ACT Broadband Bangalore Reviews Posted: 18 Nov 2013 08:12 AM PST Hello Readers, My name is Vivek Sinha Anurag and i am going to post some "great" work shown by Act Broadband. I applied for ACT Broadband 5 Mbps plan [its having cap value of 35GB after that speed will reduce to 256 kbps] by calling their customer care on 16th Aug 2011. I was surprised to see their lightening fast response as the representative came to my doorstep the very next day and on 17th Aug 2011 Mr Ashitt O.S. collected the money and documents and told me that withing 5 days i will get my connection and i even got sms confirmation that my request no is 142263. Now the real story started. Even after 6 days no one ever bothered to check my request so i called customer care [ 080-42840000] to remind them and i was told that i will get it withing next 2 days. I waited for next 2 days and called them again. I was surprised to learn a new technical term from them that they are "Uploading network" hence its taking time and soon i will get my connection. Since my work was getting affected because of their delay i applied for a BSNL connection too. Now today is 5th September and i am still waiting for the connection and to my surprise i got the BSNL broadband last week. I tried escalating this matter and asked the customer care for any high level contact and they said that i need to mail helpdesk@acttv.in. I emailed them but i got no response. Please note some points regarding ACT broadband before applying ACT broadband 1. They dont have nodal officer/appellate authority [against TRAI rules and i have already escalated this matter to TRAI officials with the help of pgportal.gov.in] 2. They have a customer base of 2500 users in bangalore and they are not able to manage even this small number. 3. They DO NOT PROVIDE STATIC IP [even if they claim to do so] 4. Their customer care service is useless. All you will losse is your balance by talking to them 5. They can "Upload network" [You can imagine the understanding capability of their technicians] 6. They are fast in collecting money but lazy in delivering service Final conclusion: To be on safe side stay away from them else you will suffer like me. Morning shows the day and even before using their service i am suffering. Don't know what will happen when i get the connection and i face any problem that time. |
