Time to change every thing .. please vote this poll so we can spam and talk about it .  and i hope we all can do something about his matter together.  they have to change these kind of limited plans in india and provide us good plans on low rates and less service tax . like other countries HAVE THEY ARE USING IT. AND WE DONT HAVE BECAUSE WE INDIAN ARE SO DUM .

Just need the CPU part as it would replace a nearly 10-15 year old machine at Fufaji's place.

Requirements are just basic. The current machine is probably a first or second generation Pentium running Windows XP so anything is an upgrade.

I personally plan to install Ubuntu as the requirement is basically to browse the web, download and print PDF files, open documents and files from CDs.

I could get something made from my local hardware guy. But considering getting a branded machine because of simple needs. Super compact cabinet would be nice.

 

Checked out Dell India website. Even the crappy configurations are priced at around 35K (including LCD etc). I am guessing I would have to get a custom unit? :\

Okay first of all I don't know if its the correct section to post my question, if not please move it to appropriate section.

My problem is I have an old aiwa music system which we brought from abroad, it only support one AV auxiliary inputand I have a Samsung LED TV with Tata sky. The output from TV speakers isn't good so I decided to take output from TV to music system but the audio was not so good. So I directly took output from Tata sky STB to music system now it sounds far better than my TV speakers. But now my mother doesn't want another remote (Music system) to watch TV she's happy with the TV speaker sound quality and also when I wanna watch movies from my Pendrive I have to rewire my music system to get input from TV and disconnect Tata sky from the music system So all I wanna know is, is there any way I can switch between my TV speakers and music system to avoid all the rewiring??? Like a splitter or something?

The court made the observation while dismissing an appeal of a woman, who is a doctor in a government hospital here, seeking right of residence in her mother-in-law's house in which her husband does not have any share.

"If it is anybody against whom or against whose property she (woman) can assert her rights, is the husband, but under no circumstances can she thrust herself on the parents of her husband or can claim a right to live in their house against their consult and wishes," Additional Sessions Judge Kamini Lau said.

The court said she is a working woman and being a doctor, she is in a position to maintain herself.
"Keeping in view the problems and disputes between the parties, allowing the woman to stay in her parents-in-law's house against their wishes would only aggravate the existing domestic problems and create numerous hassles for these senior citizens, which this court will not permit," the judge said.

 

I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to technical stuff so what does this mean? i have tried changing the modem but i get same results. The data light on modem is off. All other lights  are working fine.

 

It happened on Friday and i called the exchange. Someone called me from there after an hour. Asked me put in some ip address and dns server, restarted modem couple of times and then hung up the phone. I kept on waiting but no one came to check my connection or call me again.

 

I have called exchange, sent an online complaint and even registered complaint through phone. I always get the computer since no customer representative ever takes the call.

 

On the other hand i called Airtel and they came home to check feasibility in my area on Sunday..that also within an hour? they will tell me tomorrow if i can get Airtel in my area. And i cant get one person on phone in BSNL even during weekdays?

 

Anyways, not to ramble on but here is the screenshot of my modem. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Could you please tell me if problem is on my end? (already tried two modems with same results) or a f**k up on BSNL side? and anything i can do to speed up the process? the exchange is close to my home but i have no hope that a personal visit is going to change much.

 

I am using 2mb plan with 40 gb FUP. BB1800. in Ludhiana, Punjab.

 

When i run diagnostic i get 'DNS server isn't responding or doesn't exist' error.

Guys so frustrated with MTNL that I am starting a thread for MTNL box location in your society. I have uploaded this pic just now after several phone call to MTNL broadband guy, AM, SDO, GM & what not however no action is taken and broaband kepps coming anfd going off. This is the worst condition and water is dripping from top from a air conditioning duck.

I am also going to sent an email with this pic to the mtnl so called babus so that they can see what the hell is going on in my society.

 

Airtel speed sucks and they have fup but atleast in my society they have a decent box installed with proper wiring.Here you can see the MTNL wiring and the box does not even has a close lid.

 

If you guys have the same or the worse scenario do share you experience with the pic.

This is my first post and I would like to congratulate all the member's and the Administrators for making this forum so interesting.

I recently shifted from BSNL broadband to Beam Internet connection.
Earlier I used to connect BSNL to D Link DSL-G604T model ADSL wireless router . The internet was shared simultaneously to Desktop through ethernet and Laptop through wireless from the the router.

My query is in two parts. Objective is to share the Beam Internet in a similar fashion as above through wireless to laptop and ethernet to desktop.

At present I am able to connect only one by plugging in directly the RJ45 of the Beam cable to the ethernet port of PC or Laptop.

Q1) Can I share beam cable internet using my existing ADSL wireless router?
Q2) If not what is the additional hardware I need to purchase? Is there a way to connect the beam cable connection to a regular wireless router and distribute? Alternatively will installing two LAN cards on my desktop and bridging them solve the problem?

The Beam broad band connection procedure:

Connect the RJ45 jack to the ethernet port of the computer.
Open the broser.
A dynamic IP gets assigned to the computer and a login screen pops up where we enter the uesr name and password.

Query: Can I do the same by connecting the cable to a wireless router.
I will buy one if it is confirmed. The Beam technical support does not inspire confidence.
Please help.

I got Dlink DSL 2750U on Saturday and I'm seeing internet disconnecting every hour someone suggested to untick Keep Alive which didn't helped I have the same modem since last 2.5 years but it was giving me problems so got a new one , ISP is MTNL below are ADSL settings.My older router does not drops any connections 
 
Can anyone compare with there modem settings

Hi I am using Alliance Broadband in Kolkata. It's connected directly to the PC, no modem is used. I have purchased Netgear WNR612 to configure WIFI for my home.

 

But when I am connecting the Alliance cable to the router and the router to my PC, I am unable to proceed with installation. Do i need a modem too? How to go about the installation. Please guide

Hi,

 

I have a Huawei MT882 ADSL+ router and a linksys WRT54G. I have a bridged connection. From past few days, the router has a weird problem. The connection drops suddenly and the router is in initialization state, i.e the power led is greed, the ADSL link led is orange and the LAN led does not turn on even when connected to linksys router through LAN cable (linksys is powered on). But the USB led is turned on. After several power switch on and offs, the LAN led turns to orange and the link LED blinks and stays steadily green. When the router is in this state, I can login to the configuration page. 

 

Any help greatly appreciated.

Recently I bought Dlink DSL-2750U modem+router for home use. I want to configure this router but router WAN port accepts RJ11 cable.

And tikona has RJ45 cable.

So anybody can suggest solution for this problem?

Also this router has USB port for connecting internet dongles.

Have some queries:

1. What are the installation charges including the set up, the wiring and the one-time deposits?

2. Is it necessary to keep a telephone or can I get rid of it as nobody uses land-line here. If I cannot get rid of it, then what's the monthly charge for the telephone?
