Internet disconnects frequently Posted: 06 Aug 2013 12:30 PM PDT Hi,
My internet connection disconnects frequently. Adsl light on modem goes off & on after certain amount of time. I have Dlink GLB 502T modem which has inbuilt splitter. One thing to mention here is if I put off the reciever of my landline telephone intenet connection lasts longer. Besides , there are several joints to our telephone cable. What could be the possible reason behind frequent disconnections.
Thanks |

Posted: 06 Aug 2013 10:46 AM PDT Airtel was giving free wifi modem few days back. Actually the registration page is still open. I applied on 24th July and was later contacted by the sales guy that I will get the free modem only with a plan of 4mbps or more. So I had to upgrade my initialy intended plan of 2mbps to 4mbps.
The Airtel technicians showed up at my door on 2nd Aug and told me that the they can't give me the free modem/wifi-router and I have to buy it if I want one, as the offer was available only till 31st of July. This is straight forward fraud by Airtel. First they promise something and then they never carry out their end of the bargain. This is clear cut fraud played on poor consumers. |

Posted: 06 Aug 2013 09:43 AM PDT What the company offer is a set of customized toolbars for the users of Blogger.com, Bloglines, LiveJournal, TypePad and Technorati users. It means if you are a heavy user of any of these services, you can skip the default toolbar and chose one of the versions customized for these tools. What you get along with the routine features are services related custom options making them accessible from the search toolbar itself. For instance, if you are a Blogger user you can install the Blogger version. The toolbar now has a Blog This button (similar to Google Toolbar) which let you Blog with a single click. Other custom options give you fast access to the Blogger homepage, dashboard and user profiles. Similar options are present for the other toolbars customized to that particular service. To one his own set of tools! Can make browsing a lot of fun if you are indeed a heavy user of one of these services. Firefox Toolbar: A set of search toolbars for Mozilla users |

Tata Sky DTH now replacing MPEG2 STBs with MPEG4 STBs for free! Posted: 06 Aug 2013 09:21 AM PDT We are replacing close to 5-6 million MPEG-2 SD STBs at no cost to consumers over the next year. All of this is coming in from internal accruals.
But you need to wait for one more year to see many new channels
We have been adding channels in a phased manner; the process will now be accelerated with the MPEG-4 STB. By June-July next year we should be able to revise our channel offerings to consumers,

Reliance Broadband down in Mumbai - western suburbs Posted: 06 Aug 2013 09:14 AM PDT My Internet service has been down for the last 4 days and Reliance Broadband customer service would promise to get it rectified. Eventually I got really pissed and asked to talk to a manager. My Krishna came online and informed me that the problem is with Reliance and BMC as Reliance has not paid the rents and BMC has cut the service and they have no "ETR" aka ETA for the service to be up. Well so I figured that this is now not working for me. I am already fishing for another provider in the Mumbai murky waters. Apparently the Reliance Broadband service has had this problem earlier; Mr. Krishna told me so and this has been corroborated by this Forum and also my family informed me the same - I was traveling out of India and recollected the issue. Reliance and BMC have problems and all that Reliance really does is dig elsewhere and provide access. This is cheating in my opinion. If the company does not have a proper cable system, has rent issues or plain does not have the necessary infrastructure to provide a service, they should not sell the service. I may go to the consumer court for the loss of my opportunities and the time spent on call and still not having internet access. If there are other people in the Western suburbs facing this problem, please ping me and let us get together to file a case against Reliance. |
Buying and Selling products through OLX Posted: 06 Aug 2013 09:11 AM PDT I am giving it a second try. I listed my 2012 Google Nexus 7 3G 2 days ago. Just got one query. But as expected, it was quite absurd. He wants me to drop the price 40%. Claims to have Google as his client. Says Google is offering him the 2013 edition of the 3G variant for Rs. 18000 (US price is going to be above Rs. 22000). It's fun. I told him to get it because it is an excellent deal. He said he is planning on getting that but wanted a backup device for testing. I am assuming he is an Android developer and if he is right, Google seems to be offering the new model at pretty amazing prices to developers here in India even before it is launched in the US market.
Listed two more products for variety. I know people here have had much success with OLX. Share your stories! |

Weird BSNL Broadband Connection Problem :( Posted: 06 Aug 2013 08:07 AM PDT Hi, So, I am getting a weird problem with my BSNL Broadband. My password has been reset to "password" but its not working and I am getting error 691 (id/pass error). But I am putting all right info as I am not a new user but 5 yr old BSNL user.
So, it all started when there was some problem in my line and SNR value went down to 6. And then both phone and broadband were dead. DSL Link was not stable at that time. So, I complained and got my line rectified but still DSL link was not stabling. Then my local exchange change some jumper or etc. Then the link got stable. But now this error came ERROR 691 and that too when I never changed password and it was saved in modem from before. So, I thought maybe some generic error, I call customer care to reset my password. But even after then it wont work. I tried using all passwords i.e. my old one and the new reset password but its not working at all. All I get is Error 691.
So, anyone please help me how to solve it? What could be the possible reason behind this? Coz the exchange people told me that they can see that password was reset succesfully but still not working. My exchange people have no idea why its happening. They don't even know whats SNR Margin value. LOL
Currently my SNR is 7 but the link is stable. Only error is that dialing problem - ERROR 691. |

Since Nokia Lumia 928 is planned for Verizon US, 925 could be International version of 928.
The specs of the Lumia 925 are expected to be the same as the Lumia 928, with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset, a 4.5" 720p HD display, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a camera that supposedly will perform excellently in low-light conditions, and of course it will run on Windows Phone |
