Problems being faced through Mobile Number Portability Posted: 22 Jan 2011 01:05 PM PST Quote: Today I tried to port my Vodafone prepaid number to Airtel Postpaid. Firstly I messaged PORT followed by cell no. to 1900. Immediately I got a msg as- Hello!Your Unique Porting Code is VD11**99. This Code will be used as an reference during porting and will be valid till 07/02/2011 10:50:21AM."" After that I submitted my all required docs (including MNP form along with Porting Code) through Airtel Reps. After an hour I got a msg from 1901 as ""Request for porting your mobile number to airtel has been received and your application is in process." 10 minute later I got a msg from Vodafone as"Hello! We have received your porting request VD11**99 dated 21Jan11. We will validate your request and will revert on confirmation by 96hrs TAT from the time we received the request from MCH." ......and 5 minute later I got a msg saying-" Hello! Your porting request VD11**99 dated 21Jan has been rejected due to The Porting Code does not match the Donor allocated Porting Code for this number. Request you to call our customer care at111 or walk int o our Stores for further action." I cross checked the Porting Code. It was correct. Then I called on 111 only to get a Complaint number to be resolved in max 48 hrs. They also asked which operator I am migrating to and alternate contact number. |

Posted: 22 Jan 2011 11:15 AM PST Quote: As you expect me to trust you, the trust will be established automatically. As for the Rs 1000 1 mbps thing, it is not possible with the inclusion of decent data usage in the bracket of 80 -100 GB, as MGC has already repeated 1000s of times. However if torrents are not in your criteria, then Hayai lite meets them perfectly, with 30 GB usage for Rs 649 p.m. and speed >3 mbps |
Posted: 22 Jan 2011 11:03 AM PST Quote: U know submarine cable is a good idea but it is risky too. If the cables get damaged the whole network can get screwed up. This incident already happened to one of the isp in UAE, where the cables got damaged bcause of a anchor which hit the cables and network got disrupted and lack of stability occured. It took a long time for them to recover from this problem. But an alternative should be there to it. |

Issue with crossing the monthly usage limit. Posted: 22 Jan 2011 10:23 AM PST Quote: Mention Modem/wifirouter model/make/number. for possible links with screen shots to set wifi settings . Use Browser Firefox with addons adblock plus flash block to reduce data download. Surfing 30 to 40% less likely. Install NetworX in each System you use. to monitor usage in each computer /laptop. Check , in your Usage portal whether meter changes at 02AM 08AM ( info for forum members ) to account charged data/ Nu data. All recorded irrespective of plan used and last column will show data or 0 KB as applicable. ---------- Post added at 11:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:50 PM ---------- Quote: May be a virus downloading in background or someone misusing your wifi connection. Use encryption for your wifi, wpa2 will be good. Install Bitmeter and check if there is any parallel download when you are idle. Use a Bandwidth meter to keep and eye on your usage .Try one from Shaplus. Which mode do you use ? PPPoE or Bridge ? In PPPoE you need to switch off the modem to disconnect internet. But it will be negligible if your PC is off. Complain to SDE about unaccounted usage. |
