Reliance Wired Broadband : How to avoid the problem of disconnection on idling, connectiong two sys

Posted: 12 Sep 2010 12:43 PM PDT

Guys, I think its not just about idle timeout. Its m ore about Loging in in certain intervals.

Well I have been recommended this awesome Python based script:- Link
I will try it and post back the result ;)

================================================== ============================

Well well guys the Python Login Script work as a charmer:-

Code:

#!/usr/bin/env python
# encoding: utf-8
"""
Reliance Login Script v1.0

This program is free software; you may redistribute it and/or
modify it under the same terms as Python itself.
"""

import urllib2, urllib, cookielib

username = 'Your_User_Name' #replace the text within quotes with your username
password = 'Password'    #replace the text within quotes with your password

jar = cookielib.FileCookieJar("cookies")
opener = urllib2.build_opener(urllib2.HTTPCookieProcessor(jar))

response = opener.open("http://10.239.89.15/reliance/startportal_isg.do")

login_data = urllib.urlencode({'userId' : username, 'password' : password, 'action' : 'doLoginSubmit'})
resp = opener.open('http://10.239.89.15/reliance/login.do', login_data)

I saved that with *.py extension, installed Python 2.7 and I run it using scheduler every 1 Hour and I am awesome.
I guess there is always a work around, and it was not just about TimeOut, you need to Login in certain interval for sure which I am doing it now.

Well I will test the script in long run, check whether my download gets stopped or not and report back..../

Are all MTNL users this hyperactive? Maybe wait a month and check to see if the speeds are truly this high before making such fantastic claims.

This is so dumb!

Sala for additional connection wtf shud i get another dsl connection and pay for it too?

Anyone any thoughts???

Quite simply coz u r dealing with IPTV over good old copper wire here..now those copper wires have limited data carrying capacity..IPTV requires anywhere between 1.5 to 6 Mbps for single channel depending on codec used ie MPEG 4 or 2...now for for the additional connection on the same line u have to double the bandwidth requirement which is not a feasible option with most copper lines...however if u wanna watch the same channel on 2 tv's that can be done without too much difficulty.

And So You Code
