Stay away from ACT, Jayanagar 4th T Block, ACT is shameless. Posted: 27 Nov 2013 12:29 PM PST To whom it may concern,
I've been using ACT for a long time, it started off well, kept me happy for a few months and then ACT got shameless and they just don't care about anything anymore. You are doing an atrocious job. So I'm putting it out for people to warn that you SHOULD stay away from ACT, trust me, they just don't care whatever you do. You don't pay, they don't care, you shout on the phone, they don't care, you are nice to them, they don't care. So yea, looks like they made of customers and are stealing their money anyway thus the shamelessness.
Please think upteen times before you call them and say you want a connection.
We have 3 connections alone running in my house, these are the phone numbers registered
I've been thinking, you should remove the "GOOD" testimonials off your website and replace them with what we write here. I still have Airtel running in my house, I'm glad this has been my backup, now if you guys don't attend/call me the moment you read this mail, I'm going to have this connection disconnected since it's been really useless for me. I can't keep paying for services that aren't attended.
Shame on you, ACT. |

Buying and Selling products through OLX Posted: 27 Nov 2013 11:59 AM PST I am giving it a second try. I listed my 2012 Google Nexus 7 3G 2 days ago. Just got one query. But as expected, it was quite absurd. He wants me to drop the price 40%. Claims to have Google as his client. Says Google is offering him the 2013 edition of the 3G variant for Rs. 18000 (US price is going to be above Rs. 22000). It's fun. I told him to get it because it is an excellent deal. He said he is planning on getting that but wanted a backup device for testing. I am assuming he is an Android developer and if he is right, Google seems to be offering the new model at pretty amazing prices to developers here in India even before it is launched in the US market.
Listed two more products for variety. I know people here have had much success with OLX. Share your stories! |

Posted: 27 Nov 2013 10:38 AM PST Like always, we now have the rumors on the upcoming movie Dhoom 2. Apparently, it still features John Abraham. In simple words, Hrithik Roshan is actually John Abraham in disguise. He is wearing a mask throughout the movie. Sounds pretty stupid right? It is indeed. |

Google Nexus 5 does not stay connected to Wi-Fi in Standby Posted: 27 Nov 2013 10:29 AM PST
This has become a major annoyance. Everytime I wake up the phone, there are like 10-15 alerts for 3G usage.
Wi-Fi settings look fine.
I never faced this on Galaxy Nexus. |

Airtel HD+ - Query on using existing hard drive partition Posted: 27 Nov 2013 10:27 AM PST Hello Techie folks,
Yesterday, I upgraded to Airtel HD+, which allows us to connect to an external usb storage and record programs.
I have a query that I am hoping to get a resolution on this forum.
I have a 1 TB USB external hard drive which is partioned into 4 drives of roughly 250gb each. I plan to use one partition for HD+ STB. However, as soon as I plug in my hard drive to STB and switch it ON, it asks me to 1) Format drive 2) Go back.
I cannot format the drive, because it carries useful data and run beyond 600 gigs, which I cannot back-up somewhere else, even temporararily. I can't just lose the data (believe me, they are not movies).
I just wish that the STB should prompt me with the drive name, once I select it to format. But, I cannot try this, because, if it doesn't prompts me and formats the entire 1 TB drive, I'll be in soup.
So, if any of you have tried to connect a partitioned hard drive to HD+ STB, could you please share your experience?
Is there any way out?
Thanks in advance.

How do I configure my newly bought D-Link DSL-2730u Wireless N 150 ADSL2+ 4-Port Router(cum modem)? Posted: 27 Nov 2013 10:12 AM PST Recently, I bought a D-Link DSL-2730u Wireless N 150 ADSL2+ 4-Port Router(i.e also modem) to connect to my Airtel broadband. I've given up after repeated failures to connect to the Internet. When I ran the diagnostics through 192.168.1.1 of the modem, the process is failing in the step when its connecting to the ISP. I've validated the ISP's username and password but still It gets failed there. Though, I am getting a valid DSL signal, but after that its throwing the error 651. I'm using Windows 7. And searched the net for all possible solutions for this error. Tried each one of it, nothing's working. Am I configuring the Modem right? Please assist as to what settings I must put. Thanks in advance. |

The general cricket discussion thread Posted: 27 Nov 2013 10:09 AM PST Why this thread? So often, we have some random thought or point to make/discuss , and I personally sometimes skip it as I feel it is not worthy of a new thread & feel its unfair to hijack an existing thread... Would recommend creating new thread for any big news & as usual we have threads for specific series/tournaments.. This is for something general random posts related to cricket...Kind of the Cricket Offtopic thread... Will start with one post ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Misbah & Taibu seem to competing with each other for the prize of who can bat more defensively.... ---------- After beating NZ in the 3rd ODI with a draing chase... Now Zimbabwe are on verge on possibly upsetting them in the Only Test... 116 needed in 34 Overs (Incl mandatory Overs) with the new ball just taken |

Airtel Broadband likely to soon offer 512kbps post FUP on all plans Posted: 27 Nov 2013 09:09 AM PST It seems finally Airtel is coming back to it's senses, they have decided to increases post FUP speed to 512 Kbps across all plans which will come into effect from 29th November.Just few days ago I saw a thread here mentioning the increase in speed to 512 kbps in Jaipur,I got excited and called the Customer Care just to inquire the same(i also wanted a PLAN CHANGE)..I think there is still a need to Increase their quota GB's of data provided in their initial plans.I was on 2 Mbps 10 GB FUP RS 700+taxes(100 calls free),I shifted to 1299+taxes with 15 GB( 8 Mbps) data and 1000 local calls free.I am not a heavy downloaded,my bandwidth usage is somewhere between 20-25 GB per months with a decent usage of phone so that plan suits well to me.
I just hope they should increase their FUP speed to at least 1 Mbps, specially in their high end plans!! |
