I am Using Airtel for the past 8 to 9 Years ...

Month by Month they increasing the rate .. my Limitation(FUP)_ was 25 gb and paying around 1000 Rs..

I have register many request for disconnection ..

But they are not  disconnecting it . They say s7 days .. and a person call for CC center and say we will wavier the amount would like to continue .. I said yes then .. They wont wavier anything, again and again it goes ..

Guys please tell how to disconnect this FupTel ..

and Suggest me any good braodband ... I am in chennai .. Pin code 600001 .. Sevenwells near 

Sowcarpet area ..

Anybody from this area pls Suggest me a Good braodband without FUP ..

Well, i have a DNA a212 wifi modem+router from mtnl, and WAN speed is upto mtnl

but the LAN speed is max 54 Mbps (b = BITS) which is Link speed(right?)

I was transferring movie file of 700 mb from PC to my canvas HD (External SD - Class 4) via ES File explorer wirelessly and i was getting just 150KBps (0.14MBps) (B = Bytes), atrocious!

So, i googled and found some tweaks in Wireless settings

and changed few settings (Below)

after that, transfer speed was increased to 800 KBps (0.78 MBps) (good, right?)

Also, Airdroid became much faster.

But this left me wondering, if i have 54Mbps wireless router which theoretically can transfer 6.75 MBps (MegaBytes) and taking all noise, wireless efficiency, other issues, etc, I should get atleast 1/3rd of the ideal speed(6.75 MBps) i.e around 2.25 MBps. as compare to my improved speed of 0.78 MBps

Not a Networking savvy, so please share some views, is 800KBps speed is quite well with my DNA-A212 ?

From past few days my service was just pathetic. i am having a 2mbps unlimited plan on which download speed was 2mbps but the upload speed was around 400kbps. There were issues of packet drop and high pings. So a guy from tikona suggested me that i should take the static IP service and there will be huge change in your service. And guess what he was correct.

Benifits

Drawbacks

1. you will have to shell out Rs1500 a year.

PS: : I am going to get a new broadband connection... right now I dont need a wifi router but in future i may need one... so which one of them will be a good choice ... also i will use it for 24hrs (so any heating problems.....)

Also one question .. I will probably be asking the BSNL guys for installation... but still which one will be good for easy installation As i dont know whether they will do that or not.........??

Also, i am suffering from bad line quality C grade in speedtest.net and the main problem is speedtest taking long time to complete test and upload stuttering and taking long tym and ping sometime 12/14/18 and sometime 52/42 ?

And which modulation should i use, i am currently using G.dmt and annex/a , i m just 2 km far away from mtnl exchange

The crazy DishTV site has no information on how I can use my Kitty points to order Movies on Demand. I read on another forum that these bonus points expire in 3-6 months. I have like 800+ points and thought would use them to order Movies on the weekends.

The Sony NSZ-GU1 Google TV device we've seen pop up in FCC filings has been at least partially revealed today, and it's called the Sony BRAVIA Smart Stick. The blog post doesn't specifically mention any Chromecast-style features, but it is an MHL dongle that runs both Google TV and Sony's own BRAVIA apps. The features are just like Google TV boxes Sony has released before, with a remote (that the FCC filings showed is at least similar to the previous ones) that has QWERTY and voice search support. Additionally, its "picture-and-picture" feature lets users see a browser in one window and TV in another.

 

Mobile Media Ventures has announced that the project's developer unit is getting a spec overhaul, upgrading to a Haswell-based processor with Intel Iris graphics. The dev hardware is getting a new price too, and will now be available for $699. While the company hasn't released final pricing on the consumer model, it estimates the computer will cost between $399 and $499, depending on the configuration.

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, 90 was hospitalised late on Sunday evening after he suffered from a heart attack.

Sources in Lilavati Hospital where he was admitted said that he was complaining of pain in the chest and breathlessness.

Kumar was wheeled into the intensive care unit (ICU) of Lilavati Hospital in Bandra West at around 9 pm.

"He is aging and has suffered from massive heart attack of the inferior wall," said a source in the hospital.

Hi Every one,

I have chosen 40gb FUP with 15mbps plan last month by paying 6 months in advance.

--The power connection issues were there before

--Later the FUP usage was getting over in 3 to 4 days

--Initially it was the issue with server calculation and did reset

--After when I was out of two town for a week the usage of 40gb got over again

--When I have sent multiple emails there was no response

--Atlast I have got a call asking we are unable to solve the issue, because I was sending multiple emails they were forcing me to cancel the connection and refund my money

This is the horrible service team I have ever seen and only broadband who is asking to cancel the connection because of their issue???

Please be aware of the broadband as they never get back to you and never service a customer anytime.

Even ACT who is monitoring this forum cant help as the decision of cancellation seems to have come from ACT management.
