Posted: 17 Sep 2013 12:24 PM PDT While I plan to list this item on Ebay/OLX soon, I just wanted to know what my friends on IBF would suggest.
I've got a PS2 (SCPH-9004CB) against some outstanding amount, the playstation 2 is sealed pack, and comes with bill (but in my name) and is genuine, un-touched.
What should be the fair price I should be looking at ???
Thanks...........
Edit:
Flipkart lists the same for Rs.6830/-
Should I sell it for 5800, do I have a chance with giving 1000 off |
Posted: 17 Sep 2013 12:03 PM PDT So I was using BSNL 1350 Annual Plan (13500 + taxes), 4 mbps for 20 GB then 512 kbps, but BSNL has been hiking the costs
a. Rs.75 increase in plan b. 11 months cost instead of 10 in case of annual plans c. removal of 1% discount on online payment d. changing to free calls from all network to only BSNL network
So my cost would be expected to go up from around 15k per annum to around 18k
Wanted to remove, but the other options are scarier & am a bit hesitant to go back to the only other service that was decent (Airtel) which is still equally costlier.
Hence, now when the time for the renewal of online payment came. I have decided to test waters first by switching to a monthly lower plan of 900 + taxes per month (expect cost to be 12k per annum, 2 mbps for 8 GB, 512 kbps beyond).
On the look out for other ISP options & may probably switch to the lowest plan possible (500/600 ones) while I test the new ISP.
So looking forward to recommendations of ISPs around Anna Nagar, Shenoy Nagar, Kilpauk, Kellys in Chennai (Uptime is primary, reasonable speed & then cost would be the factors)
Reliance is ruled out & unless Hathway has improved a LOT in the last few years is ruled out as well... |
Speakers with pen drive streaming Posted: 17 Sep 2013 12:02 PM PDT i want to speakers to play the music when pen drive is plugged into it. any suggestions? |
Posted: 17 Sep 2013 11:58 AM PDT Never buy Micromax 3g Modem. This Modem is not for advance user. I have a Micromax modem (MMX353G) and I want to sell it at low price BECAUSE this 3g Modem is ridiculous, THERE IS NO SETTINGS TO CHANGE DNS ADDRESS and it is worth to mention that it is an adware. It will always open Micromax home page. |

Posted: 17 Sep 2013 10:47 AM PDT Airtel called me today and said since I'd taken Smartbytes for 12gb last month, they wanted to offer 125 fup plan(80gb now) at the same speed(8mbps) for 50rs extra.
I also heard they are giving 3g at 2g rates in my area these days. |

Reliance ADSL vs Metro Ethernet Posted: 17 Sep 2013 10:34 AM PDT Reliance ADSL vs Metro Ethernet What's the maximum speed a modem(especially Reliance modem) can handle? If the future update is like 8/16 Mbps can the modem handle it or its a must to have Metro Ethernet for that speed? How Airtel handles this issues? |

BSNL Broadband becomes slow during daytime Posted: 17 Sep 2013 10:18 AM PDT BSNL broadband works like a breeze at night especially after 9 PM. But during daytime I don't understand what happens that some sites work okay, while some other sites become very very slow. For example until a few days ago, during daytime Youtube would work fine and I could easily stream videos at 480p on my 4 mbps connection, while took forever to buffer videos even at 200p on some other video streaming sites. However since a couple of days things have become just opposite. Now other sites work fine, but Youtube suffers. I'm able to stream videos only at 144p on Youtube on my 4 mbps connection. At night everything works great.
Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue ? |
Reliance - Most horrible service Posted: 17 Sep 2013 10:17 AM PDT Do not know where to start. But, by far this is most horrible experience i am having with reliance broadband thunder plan 549. They claim it is 1mbps plan, but when you open gmail and facebook, it take 5 min to load. And if you are running torrent, then forget about opening gmail and facebook.
I took the plan on August 1st week and from very beginning i started experiencing a very slow speed and frequent fluctuation in service. Every now and then net was going down. After several complains, this was improved. But, problem with slow internet experience. Even after calling them several times, they are not resolving the issue. Everytime thay will raise a new ticket and reply , "we will get back in 24 hours"
Next thing is there front desk support. The way they will talk to you, as if they are paying for you and you are using the service for free. 2 times they close my ticket without even calling me. I was so frustrated with this pathetic service, so gave a termination request on 28th August. They said, their backend team will call me within 48 hours. And i got a call also, but the guy from other side said "welcome to reliance world and this is a welcome call". After 3 weeks of horrible experience, i got a call saying welcome to reliance world. Do not understand how this company runs and how is coordination between their front end and back end.
I am still waiting, when their 48 hour will be over and they will deactivate my account. I will never refer anybody to go with reliance broadband. |

Posted: 17 Sep 2013 10:10 AM PDT recently i got this spectranet connection. They did underground fiber optic cabling and started the service called spectranet FOX in my area. the plan is 12 to 16 mbps for 6 months. looking at the speeds they will provide, i got my airtel BB service discontinued.
I AM HIGHLY DISSATISFIED WITH THE CONNECTION.
1) promised speeds 12-16 mbps ,you never get the promised speeds throughout the day. even right now i am getting just 3-5 mbps. why do ISPs do this? come on! if you dont want to give constant speeds then why the hell do you have to make false promises? when they visit your home for a demonstration, such good marketing skills, overselling their product, promising this and that. but when it comes to the connection, its very poor.
2) its a daily glitch in the connection. from timings 9 pm to 12 pm i always get very low speeds like 1 mbps and very high pings touching 200 ms. i've got to play online games , but with such a pathetic ping im not able to play the games properly. and this is very irritating! and this happens everyday
3) when i had the airtel connection i used to watch alot of youtube, surf internet and the data limit was 8 gb. with these activities not even half of my data limit was used, and around 4-5 gb was left unused per month.seldom, i used to download movies because once the data limit was reached, then speed degraded to 256kpbs(reason to change spectranet ISP). using this connection, in last 1 week the 5 gb of data usage has been shown in my spectranet account(5gb data volume used) i myself have downloaded around 700mb of data THAT'S IT! i can accept even if i had watched 1080p HD videos on youtube, i could accept that i could've consumed data but still cant find what has used 5gb. if it could've been a theft over wi-fi, but whenever i am at home i connect through LAN cable and switch of the wifi service and whenever im not at home i switch off the router. then how come 5 gb of data has been consumed?! and i cant buy this fact that ONLY net surfing at watching videos on youtube would've consumed so much of data. i really find that spectranet is a cheat on this part.
if someone using the same net plans from spectranet and facing the same issues please reply and put forward some solutions to my problem, so as how to get the promised service from my ISP.

Want to Change my ISP. Which would be nice? Posted: 17 Sep 2013 08:05 AM PDT Hi, I am in Velachery. I have been using Airtel Broadband for too long. I want to change my ISP as it is very costly and the downloadable quantity is very low for me. I download like 50 GB per month and also play Online Multiplayer games. So Ping is also a criteria. I want the Internet to be always up and running. Which should I look into? The ISPs which have no FUPs in their desc caught my eye (like Tikona and Net Express) . I am willing to pay 1500 max for 4Mbps / 50 GB atleast and so. What is my best plan? |

Reliance WLL Phone instrument issues Posted: 17 Sep 2013 07:38 AM PDT I have a lifetime prepaid reliance WLL phone. Been using it for about 6 years now. The instrument gives a lot of problem and on complaint they come and replace with another faulty piece. As a result the past 3 years I've practically not used it at all. The instrument I have at the moment, ringer doesn't work, battery dies in a minute, speaker phone doesn't work. Anyone know how to get a new instrument that I can use as a replacement? |
