Tikona Broadband User Experiences

Thought I would start another thread for people who have actually used this service to describe their experience.

They have started advertising quite heavily in Bombay and their plans seem pretty decent. Their 600kbps UL plan would be excellent for me.

I really like the way they have bill limits for their limited plans as well. That shows they understand consumer concerns about enormous bills and have designed their plans to allay them.

So how good is their service? Any down time? How quickly do they respond to complaints? Really any information from people who have used Tikona would be appreciated.

Tikona Connection Stability Issue

Team,

From the time i have got my connection it isn't stable. It creates a lot of trouble while doing video chats. Network speed is fine but the speed drops to 0 and goes offline for a second and then comes back. Seems like the issue is with tikona receiver which is kept in top of my building is losing signals in between.

Kindly fix this as its becoming really annoying to browse/use properly. The turn around time for these guys are really slow sometimes. Last time i was getting 700kbps and all the technician could ask me to do was delete cookies and check!!! duh....

 

Then they say we will monitor your network and see if all is working right...patent dialogue of tikona - we have been monitoring your connection and all seems to be fine if there is still any issue please call customer care bla bla bla

 

The receiver which they kept is barely 1month old i had got this connection  29th July. wish i shouldnt have switched from MTNL!!!!

TIKONA PATHETIC CONNECTION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE – FEEL CHEATED

Hi,

 

I am a Tikona WiBro internet user (User ID – 1108912680) since last one month (Aug 2013) at Ramamurthynagar, Banglore with a plan of ADULM2048 having paid Rs.3100/- with all useless installation charge etc. I have been introduced to a pathetic internet and customer service a person can dream off through this stupid service.

 

I must have raised up to 15-20 complaints for the last one month (which was my first month since the installation) ranging from internet speed to internet disconnection problems.

 

THINK BEFORE TAKING A TIKONA CONNECTION BECAUSE OF THE FOLLOWING REASON, I EARNESTLY REQUEST YOU TO AVOID THIS FAKE CONNECTION

 

1.       First of all after paying the money to get the internet connection, the technician took his sweet own time of 4-5 days to come and install the connection.

 

2.       Whenever there is a problem with their internet connection, we will have to wait for more than 8-10 minutes to get connected to their toll free customer care service online (1-800 209 4276). After 5 mins of waiting to get connect to the customer care the auto voice keeps repeating that it will connect you within 1 min and goes on and on for more than 10 min  to connect you to a customer representative.

 

3.       It also encourages you to call on their STD number (022-61749700) for faster service which also takes the same time (8-10 min) to connect to their customer representative. I wonder who will be paying for STD charges for all the waiting time (10 min) to get connected to their customer representative. And imagine if we have to call them for every 3-4 days with new internet problems each time like mine.

 

4.       Once you are connected to their customer representative he will act to resolve the issue online. He will ask you to wait for more than 3 hrs so that he will try to fix it online from his side. But even after 1 day or more, your issue will not be resolved or neither will they bother to call you. So no internet for that day and no follow up from them on the issue. This shows how junk is their services.

 

5.       Many of the times they give excuses as With regards to your concern, our team member tried to reach you on your registered number but it was not reachable. Really bullshit, when my other callers are able to reach me how is that only Tikona is not able to call me back. How many times have they tried to connect to me?

 

6.       Also, whenever I raised a complaint I was told by their customer representatives that I would get a SMS with the complaint details. Till today I never received any such SMSs from them.

 

7.       Now the next problem is their technicians, who will take more than 1 -2 days to come to your place to fix it. He will come on his own time and priority. Their technicians are ill equipped and don't know how to resolve the issue properly. More than 4 -5 technicians must have visited to my place for more than 9 -10 times to fix various issues within the first month of the installation.

 

8.       One of their technicians told me directly that they get paid for each complaint and visit. Hence they don't fix the issue permanently to get benefit of getting paid for each visit. I did mention about the problem of technicians to the online customer care representative who did not bother much and just told he would escalate this issue. But believe me nothing happened with respect to the technician even after raising such a concern with them and escalation. I came to know that it is all just fake assurance. NO ONE IN THEIR GROUP IS READY TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST FAULTY INDIVIDUALS (TECHNICIANS OR CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVES).

 

9.       For the last one month I must have used their internet connection for 10 days or less effectively. Most of the time it was not working at all or the complaints were pending to be resolved.

 

10.   I have currently requested them to uninstall their idiotic connection, for the following reason which was really extreme. I had raised a complaint (complaint id – 1-2775463813) for installation of longer cable and for internet not working at my place on 31st August 2013. None of their Technicians turned up till date (08-Aug-2013). Imagine no resolution of the issue for almost 1 week. Whenever I called their customer care for almost five times on 07 & 08 Aug 2013, each time they would say that they would escalate the issue and they would call back. Neither the issue was resolved nor a fool visited from their side to correct it.

 

Now I am just hoping that they will reimburse all my hard earned money that I had paid for their useless and pathetic internet and customer service.

Frustrated with Frequent Disconnections despite repeated complaints

Hello guys, i'm facing a lot of disconnections on MTNL Triband Mumbai.
I get 2 type of disconnections, i'll try to explain it.
Please see the following screenshot :

The 1st disconnection (the 3 consecutive 'Not Connected') is the disconnection that happens when the ADSL link drops and the internet reconnects after 1 minute or so. The IP address changes.

The 2nd and 3rd disconnections are the weird quick disconnections where internet loses connectivity for about 20 seconds and then regains connectivity. The IP address does not change.

I stay very far from MTNL exchange and my line stats are terrible. See below :

Router : TP-Link TD-W8951ND (ADSL+Wifi)

Enabling/Disabling Router Firewall and Kaspersky Firewall makes no difference.

G.Dmt doesn't help either.
I face this same issue on my other router D-Link DSL 2520U as well.
I have also tried 4 splitters and even changed the wall socket (small white box) myself.

I had complained multiple times and the lineman came twice and did something.
But still no difference in the line stats and the problem is at it is.
I was previously on Xpress_UL_1000 plan, but now i've switched to DSL_UL_999 hoping that changing plan would somehow solve my problem but it didn't.

 

Because of the disconnections i cannot play games online and the overall internet experience is terrible.
I am very frustrated.

How the hell do i solve this issue?

Please help.

Airtel 3G Data Card - No Recharge Options?? No customer support

I bought an Airtel 3G Dongle (Data card). Now, I am finding it difficult to get it recharged. There is NO option for online recharge!!! I went to the dealer and tried recharging through easy recharge, but it didn't work. The dealer informed me that it can be done only after I complete one after the previous recharge!

Then, when my account balance was zero, I got it recharged (before completeing one month.) Now, my second recharge amount is about to expire, i have only about 600 MB left (I need lot of balance as I use it for my office work). Again when i went to the dealer, he tried and said that it is not happening because one month has to be over. It will be over only on April 29, and I can;t wait that long!

I called the number provided on airtel application 18001030405. The people there talks like they have absolutely no idea about data card. I chose the English option but they started speaking in Kannada (I hung up the first time because he could not understand anything). Then, a lady answered.Then, the conversation was:

She: Heli (kannada)
I: can you tell me how to recharge the 3G data card?
She: You want to recharge 3g mobile?
I: No, i want to recharge my 3g data card
She: The same number you are calling?
I: No, I don't want to recharge 3g on my mobile, I want it donefor my data card.
She: Please hold on
I: OK
She: ....for being on hold
I: OK
She: For 3g, you recharge 9 rs, you get 10 mb, 1 day validity, 60 rs,...
I: No, No, I want to recharge my data card. with 4 GB
She: You want to recharge for 3g, right?
I: Yes
She: for 9 rs, 10 MB, 1 day validity
I: NO, I want 4 GB
She: 3g, or 4 g?
I: 3G, data card, i want to recharge 4 G- B- FOUR GIGA BYTES
She: please hold on..
I: OK
She:...for being on hold
I: OK
She: You want to recharge 3g ?
I: Yes
She: Really...my application is slow..(What did i ask her? What is she doing on her application!!?)
She: ..for being on hold...
She: For 3g you have to contact your dealer.
I: I went there, it is not working...
She: Please hold on
I: OK
She: ..for being on hold..you ahve to do at the deler. we cant do it..
I: so waht is this department?
She; Airtel support
I: can you tell me how to recharge?
She; You have to tell your dealer..
I: No other way?
She: Only your dealer can do it
I: BUt...(I realized that this lady cannot answer any of my other questions, as to the several problems i faced, teh one month barrier before i can recharge, teh 0 balance, the option to recharge like mobile then transfer to Internet balance etc..And, all this while my wife was standing beside me and saying, why are you being so nice, can't you ask properly..). SO I hung up the call and wrote this post!

Can anyone tell me hw to recharge airtel dongle??? and what is the qualification for entering airtel datacard support? I know a boy who has passed 3rd grade, I think he knows more about 3g than those employed there!

I'm on Airtel unlimited for the past 8 years.. fell for these Nextra guys looking at their plans and paid advance for installation and I've been coming early from work to get the thing installed but they just DON'T SHOW UP.. it's been a week !!

Looks like the guy who  takes the application/advance is an okay-type (Nawal Kishore - he at least responds to your calls) but the ones who install are real unprofessional scum and this guy has no control on them so his efforts are all in vain. Fed up,  I called up their installation guy (Shushil) directly to fix a time but he wouldn't even listen to what I had to say and would just cut the call.. WTx !!  I complained on their website, looks like they don't care.

 

THERE ARE NO FREE LUNCHES.. save your time and money and stay away from this temptation :nono:

Does any one know how to configure 2G / 3G USB data card with this D-Link DSL-2750U? Data card I would like to use is Reliance 2G, made by Huawei EC168C. I spoke to D-Link technical support few days back, before buying this router, they said it is compatible. Today I was trying to configure & I called them, they said it is not compatible. Does any one know is it really compatible or not?

In Tasker, create a new Task and add a new action: plugins->AutoLaunch
In the App name field write "YouTube" (or any other app name you want)
Accept the settings and test the Task with the "Play" button on the lower left in Tasker: you'll see the YouTube app launching
You can use Tasker Variables  in the AutoLaunch fields, so you can dynamically launch the apps you want
To get Started with querying apps with AutoLaunch follow these steps (NOTE: you currently need the latest Tasker beta for AutoLaunch Query to work):

In Tasker, create a new Task and add a new action: plugins->AutoLaunch Query
In the App name field write "Google"
Accept the settings
In the same task add an Alert->Popup action. Write %allabels() in the "Text" field (or use the little tag icon tasker tag to insert the variable automatically)
test the Task with the "Play" button on the lower left in Tasker: you'll see a popup with all the apps that contain the word "Google" in their name
Now you can create a scene with these variables, for example, or do anything you want with them

Frequent Disconnection / ADSL blinking Issue on MTNL Broadband

Hi,

I am a user of 849NU plan of MTNL Triband service since August based out of Navi Mumbai.

All of August, i was very happy to have a lovely connection and good speeds, with a pretty good tariff.
But now since the past 15 days I am suffering from very intermittent net connection.
Although I am connected to the internet, sometimes the webpages take ages to open, and never open, while at other times it opens instantly. Also downloading has the same pattern, sometimes I get very good speeds of upto 200 Kbps, while other times there is no download. Although all download sites show good Triband Speed, but it is the intermittent connection that is the problem.
This problem has crept up in the last 15 odd days, and I have tried everything but no change has been noticed.

Has anyone else faced a similar problem, and if yes, whats the work around. The people at MTNL classify this as a slow connection problem, but that is exactly not the issue, as I do get good speeds intermittently.

Somebody please help me.
