The Ferrari 340 Mexico, one of just three coupes built, was certainly one of the highlights from this year’s Amelia Island sale presented by RM Auctions. The car boasts a magnificent racing pedigree and it easily broke seven figures, selling for an impressive .9 million (hammer price).

The car, chassis number 0224 AT, was piloted by famed racing driver Luigi Chinetti and Jean Francis to an impressive third overall finish at the grueling 1952 Carrera Panamericana; it was the only one of the three 340 Mexico coup?s entered in the legendary Mexican road race to finish. It was also raced in period at the 1953 Mille Miglia, guaranteeing its future entry into the famed Mille Miglia retrospective.

Customers of JP Morgan Chase may have additional restrictions placed upon their debit card usage soon. The third-largest bank in the U.S. may cap debit card transactions to or 0 at a time, even if the card is run as credit, says an anonymous insider. Blame it on the rising interchange fees banks charge retailers per transaction, reports Chicago Breaking Business.

Interchange fees: Why retailers demand minimum debit transactions

On average, banks charge retailers 44 cents for every debit card transaction, as an interchange fee that the bank shares with its financial partners. Federal Reserve data indicates that interchange fees from retail debit card transactions amounted to billion in 2009. Wall Street reforms introduced by the Obama administration will curb the amount of such fees. Interchange fees may be capped at only 12 cents per debit card transaction, beginning July 2011.

Passing the expense on to customers

JP Morgan Chase and other banks aren’t enamored with this. Chase estimates it would cost over billion per year. Joe Price, president of consumer banking at Bank of America, said that a 12-cent cap would not fairly compensate the bank for infrastructure costs. X Lossless Decoder(XLD) is a tool for Mac OS X that is able to decode/convert/play various ‘lossless’ audio files. The supported audio files can be split into some tracks with cue sheet when decoding. It works on Mac OS X 10.4 and later.

XLD is Universal Binary, so it runs natively on both Intel Macs and PPC Macs.

XLD supports the following formats:

* (Ogg) FLAC (.flac/.oga)
* Monkey’s Audio (.ape)
* Wavpack (.wv)
* TTA (.tta)
* Apple Lossless (.m4a) [10.4 and later]
* TAK (.tak) [Requires Wine]
* Shorten (.shn) [SHN v3 only]
* AIFF, WAV, etc

Other formats supported by Libsndfile are also decodable. XLD uses not decoder frontend but library to decode, so no intermediate files are generated. All of the supported formats can be directly split with the cue sheet. XLD also supports so-called ‘embedded’ or ‘internal’ cue sheet.

Currently you can choose output format from WAVE,AIFF and Raw PCM. In addition, you can choose Ogg Vorbis (aoTuV), MPEG-4 AAC (QuickTime/CoreAudio), MP3 (LAME), Apple Lossless, FLAC, HE-AAC (aacPlus v1/v2), Wave64 and WavPack in the GUI version.

XLD version 20080812 and later can be used as a CD ripper. You can convert each track in your audio CD into the desired format. Also XLD supports output a CD image with cue sheet (wav+cue, flac+cue, etc).

* New modern Cocoa UI for the track list window
* Non-compliant cuesheets are supported in the batch mode
* Fixed a profile name editing problem on 10.4
* Fixed a problem that profile remove button didn’t work when only one profile existed
