MTNL Billing problem: be alert Posted: 02 Mar 2011 12:19 PM PST Guys, I am using MTNL 3G since June 2010. It worked fine for me until today. I am not able to connect to the internet. I talked to Customer Care and tried many things, only to find out that my prepaid balance is zero. This is a surprise.:impissed: I had balance of Rs.88 after my last data usage worth Rs. 12 while I was on roaming on BSNL network. To my surprise, customer care guy told me that after using Rs. 12 worth data. There is another download of 90MB of data. This session ended only after my balance got exhausted. :madness: I am 100% sure that I did not use this data. Now I am scared of using MTNL. My balance can be drained even without my knowledge. Luckily I didn't recharge with a big amount last time as I was planning to switch to 6 month/4500 plan. I have to rethink...... |

I need tikona f-secure antivirus keys.... Posted: 02 Mar 2011 10:01 AM PST Well, Normally, indian softwares are very different types of softwares. They are capable to do something innovative but they are useless for their use for what they are made. Like you said that Quickheal is capable to find nigerian scam. I think no other software can detect it except one or two. By the way, we can say that we have india antivirus software developing company and also we have indian operating system company 'BOSS' based on linux. |

where will I find BSNL Micro Sim in Hyderabad Posted: 02 Mar 2011 09:41 AM PST Quote: I am already using a Home Made Mirco Sim....on my iPhone 4:dance: I just want to use the Unlimited Data Plan that's available only in iPad Data Plan...BSNL removed Unlimited Plans for all other users....... I Couldn't Find anyone in the BSNL Office(that's close to my Place) who could help me out with the iPad Specific Data Plan.... Now you are asking for ipad plan 999 etc. To get connected and use ipad plan, you must use only ipad microsim (whether to use in iphone and ipad or in normal phone and data cards). You can not get ipad plan activated / charged in normal (mini) sim. You will be assigned specific mobile no for ipad connections. |

Blasphemy law in Pakistan: Report Posted: 02 Mar 2011 07:42 AM PST What is blasphemy law? Anything said against Islam is considered a blasphemy and Penal Code of Islamic Republic of Pakistan are taken against who dares to that. The penalty ranges from a fine to death. More than 96% of Pakistan’s population is Muslim. If we compare anti-blasphemy laws of Muslim majority countries, Pakistan practices strictest laws. In 1927, the British colonial rulers of the sub-continent made it a criminal offence to commit “deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religious belief”. The law did not discriminate between religions. Pakistan’s late military ruler Mohammed Ziaul Haq, who was in power for 11 years from 1977, made several additions to its blasphemy laws, including life imprisonment for those defiling or desecrating the Holy Quran. A number of people are killed in Pakistan for causing to Quran, some cases are posted below: In November 1992, Gul Masih, a Christian, was sentenced to death after having remarked to his neighbor Mohammad Sajjad, a Muslim, he had read "that Mohammed had 11 wives, including a minor." Riaz Ahmad, his son, and two nephews (Basharat Ahmad, Qamar Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad), all Ahmadis, were arrested and jailed on 21 November 1993. They were detained for having "said something derogatory." Local people in Piplan, Mianwali District, said that rivalry over Ahmad's position as village headman was the real motivation for the complaint against him. The Sessions Court rejected the bail applications of the accused. The Supreme Court granted bail in December 1997. The police arrested Ayub Masih, a Pakistani Christian bricklayer for blasphemy on 14 October 1996 and jailed him for violation of § 295-C. Muhammad Akram, a Muslim neighbor to Masih, complained to the police that Masih had said Christianity was right, and Masih had recommended that Akram read Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses. In August 2003, the police arrested a Christian, Samuel Masih, for allegedly defiling a mosque by spitting on its wall. While in prison, Masih contracted tuberculosis. The authorities transported him to a hospital. There, on 24 May 2004, a police constable used a hammer to kill Masih. The constable said it was his duty as a Muslim to kill Masih. On December 12, 2010, during a press conference major Islamic parties in Pakistan launched a campaign for upholding the sanctity of Muhammad against the proposed amendment in the blasphemy laws. On 4 August 2009, a Muslim mob attacked a factory-owner by the name of Najeebullah and others at Sheikhupura in the Punjab. The mob killed Najeebullah and two others, and set fire to the factory. The mob complained that Najeebullah had placed an outdated calendar, which contained verses from the Quran, on a table. For that offense, a worker accused Najeebullah of blasphemy. The workers may have been in a dispute with Najeebullah over wages In November 2010, Asia Bibi was sentenced to death by hanging on a charge of blasphemy; the case that has yet to be upheld by the Lahore High Court has sparked international reactions. Punjab Governer Salman Taseer was shot dead by his security guard on supporting Asia Bibi. Salman Taseer visited Asia Bibi in Jail and held a press conference with her He told media that Asia Bibi will be released soon and President of Pakistan will soon demolish his death sentence. Mass protests in Pakistan were held in Pakistan against his support to Asia Bibi. Many local Mosque's Imams across Pakistan said that Salman Taseer has defiled Mohammad and he should also be sentenced to death. And the most recent one On March 2nd, 2011 Shahbaz Bhatti was killed by gunmen in Islamabad as he was travelling to work, a few weeks after he had vowed to defy death threats over his efforts to reform Pakistan's blasphemy laws. Why is there such a tension between Pakistani Christian’s and Muslims, actually the thing is, according to Christians Lord Jesus Christ, is the last messenger of the Lord God and he is the God himself as he was not born by the natural sexual process, and his life was full of supernatural happenings and signs. And he accomplished a lot of rules and regulations mentioned in The Holy Bible. So, according to Christianity The Lord Himself came between us in human form and has accomplished everything and has set an example of a perfect human being so the Prophet era has ended. Excluding the Prophets mentioned in the Book of revelation. According to Islam Lord Jesus Christ was a normal prophet and not The Lord God himself. And Prophet Muhammad came after him giving further diverse revelations to the human kind. When a religious preacher preaches his/her beliefs, it’s considered a blasphemy in Pakistan. Shahbaz Bhatti was a liberal leader and was a Roman Catholic and he mentioned in his meetings lately that he is not safe as Talibani’s and various other non liberal people are strictly against his movement. There is no doubt that this tense situations and increasing non liberal thinking and forces across the border is becoming a cause of concern for India. Samm |

Problem: Port Forwarding on Beetel 220BX Posted: 02 Mar 2011 05:08 AM PST We have a External Static IP with my Airtel Broadband connection which is configured on a Beetel 220 BX in NAT mode. I want to give outside access (from WAN/Internet) to my Apache server which is running on one of my XP client system (inside LAN) which is having a fixed IP 192.168.1.50 I figured out that PortForwarding is the solution to open it up. For the concerned router its called "Virtual Server" and I could enter the appropriate table fields but when I "Save/Reboot" my Router it's Resetting to it's Factory Settings !! Here, again I have to configure my Static IP in order to get my internet connection back. I tried this four/five times but in vain. What could be the reason...? Is it a faulty router or any mis configuration from my side. Expecting an early resolution. Thanks in adv. Shejin |

Vodafone India: Huge increase in unbilled usage in just 5 days from start of billing cycle. Posted: 02 Mar 2011 02:39 AM PST Yes, first time user for Vodafone Mobile Connect :). I have already lodged a complaint, noted down the complaint number and even emailed the problem to them. Anyway my credit limit is Rs.2100 so it cannot go beyond that. But if they are giving 2GB limit, technically we cannot use that 2GB due to the low credit limit. Just a guess. Keeping my fingers crossed  |

CC sucks at times needing multiple calls sometimes and some yelling and abusing, but the job gets done. I just screamed at them for delaying me getting the Mono LnB and got it in a day after that. 4.) Clarity is good on DishTV HD or non-HD, I have 3 at home. And am satisfied. |

Dish TV Crosses 10 million Subscriber Mark......: Posted: 02 Mar 2011 12:00 AM PST ive been on tsky since 08 november after dumping the dishtv stb to some unknown corner of my house... Interestingly my dishtv connection still seems to be counted as active as I recieved an email and a call from the IVR thanking me for the *support* to dishtv's supposed march forward. Then a pesky dish cc chap started bugging me to get HDed and spend 700 a month for their stretched HD gimmick. I fail to understand the point why such absolutely false marketing ploys are being allowed legally. Cant we sue them in any way? |
Vodafone 3G India: Slick Promos Posted: 02 Mar 2011 12:00 AM PST You Tube Video of Vodafone 3G Advertisement This is NOT an endorsement for Vodafone. Help needed in choosing a 3G data modem Posted: 01 Mar 2011 10:56 PM PST Hello everyone I have an E1550 3G modem which I now find slow. So, I need a new modem which is at least 7.2 Mbps or 21 Mbps and uploads of 5.76 Mbps, supports an external antenna, and supports the 1900 MHz 3G band along with 2100 MHz. Budget - Rs. 2700(max) The options available to me are - Huawei E122 - quoted 2600 on ebay.in Huawei E173 - quoted 2450 on ebay.in But the above 2 modems do not support the 1900 MHz band in 3G and the last one does not even support an external antenna Huawei E176 - seems to fit my needs but cannot find an online store for this model. I came across - Huawei E1762 - being sold for 2600 - supports all that I need but have no clue on how the modem is.. Some say its pretty bad(slow surfing speeds, frequent disconnections, etc.). Can anyone please comment? and UMG 1831 also fits the requirements but its no longer affordable.. Available at an online price of about Rs. 3300. (was available for Rs. 2700 a month back.. **sigh**) What do you people suggest? Which is the best modem as per my requirements? and if I have to drop that requirement of 3G frequencies(which I dont really want to but have no options) then which is the best modem out of E122, E173, E1762 ? |
