Hi guys
Before I apply for a new reliance BB connection here in Delhi, I wanted to know a few things which weren't answered on the website.

Firstly I heard that I can't use wifi on this? Is this true? That means I can't use my laptop with the reliance connection?

Second is it true that this is not an always on 24-7 connection and is similar to that olden crappy dial up system?

Third, how is the service in delhi? I am wanting to apply for the Night Booster Zoom 1 plan.

I just switched to DOCOMO from Airtel a couple of days back. The Customer Care for DOCOMO is Pathetic. They could not speak or understand ENGLISH Properly. And What I have experienced is that, they do not have proper knowledge about the service. I have to call their cc several times to inquire about something. And each time I get different answer. I think Airtel's cc was far more better than DOCOMO's. Network in my area is OK. But the GPRS/EDGE speed is dam slow. Just like Airtel's. So started counting days(90 days) so that I can switch over to some other operator. And at the same time, doing some research on service providers about network and GPRS/EDGE speed.

I understand vikky but i have not opted for Mobile Number Portability yet. I was able to do this 6 last months. Now if i call 198, i can only hear dial *121# to get balance info. But i want to talk to cc executive. Then called 121 paying 50Paise for every 3 min. All i can hear is they do not know where is my money.
From last one year, airtel service level has come down drastically and in last 6 to 8 months their cc has become worse than BSNL. I am feeling like kicking on Sunil Mittal's a*s if he is in front of me. That bugger is concentrating on expanding business in Africa and Bangladesh at cost of sucking money from indians.

Well yesterday during the day while going through these threads I shot a mail to Airtel complaining about the usual problems like sluggish user interface and each time we change the channel we get the info bar which further slows it down and it takes ages to change a channel and by the night the problem was GONE!
Yes now i'm not getting the info bar at every channel change and NO its not because of my mail maybe they got many complaints for the same and changed it.
Now its running good like before.

Which modem do you use ? Wifi or non - wifi from Teracom ?

Check the splitter. Make sure all connections come after splitter. Make sure you have followed this diagram



Try connecting directly to the modem and check

If possible, try another modem and check. Just in case the fault is within the modem, this will help you clear the doubt.

To switch to Bridge mode / Dialer mode, you need to change the entry after clicking " edit " in the 0_35 entry. Can you find that option to choose between PPPoE and Bridge ? It can be accessed by clicking " edit " in the 0_35 entry and carry on clicking " next ".

If nothing works, reset the modem and try configuring again. Here is the guide to reconfigure the modem.

I have had Reliance netconnect for a year in Delhi, and it bleeds me dry every month with bills as high as rents I have paid. Not just that, the speeds are very very slow. And even when it's going at dial-up speed, you're charged for the broadband speed. Aside from this the customer care people are really dumb and unhelpful. I have a Mac and even though Reliance is supposed to be the Mac dealer in India, it took 2 months to get it to work, and I was billed for these months! (Until I made a big fuss and they acted like they were generous enough to give me a waiver.)

So, I would like to switch over to something cheaper and faster. Airtel broadband unfortunately has no lines in my neighbourhood (in south Delhi). I would welcome suggestions. Should I revert to MTNL or try their 3G jadoo?

I have a big tv connection.. didn't recharge from about 6 months.. as cable improved and 2 tv's..

but I am not getting ten action.. so I want to resubscribe big tv only for sports channels for tv in my room..

please suggest a sports pack for me.. I don't need regular channels at all..

if big tv sports pack costs below 100, then its fine.. else my mom won't allow :(

also will I have to pay anything since I haven't recharged it for some time now..

Hello Forum Friends,

After going through almost all operators tariffs, I found NOBODY can beat BSNL's Tariff.
Especially "PLAN-525" & "PLAN-325" Rocks with 15sec pulse rates.

In these plans, you will get more stuff than the rental you have paid.

Infact BSNL is promoting 3G services on 2G Tariffs. Local Video calling@ 70ps/min & STD Video Calling@ Rs.1/min.
Almost all PLANs include FREE Data usage(irrespective of 2G or 3G).
Night Calling(within BSNL Network) is totally FREE or at 50% discounted rates(based on your plan).

You will save lots of money on LANDLINE calls in BSNL. But AIRTEL is NOT ready to reduce call rates to Landlines, It's still charging Rs.1/min on its most of the plans.

BSNL's Data Speed also pretty fast, I downloaded a song(4.3MB in size) from songs.pk in just 27secs in 3G mode & it took about 2min 42secs in 2G mode.

I'm using BSNL (CELLONE) from past 7yrs & I never experienced Billing Mistakes/ERRORs like AIRTEL always do.:ishock:

Nowadays BSNL people become more professional & Caring its customers upto their satisfaction. Even they launched 24x7 CSC in major cities. Means you can pay BSNL Bills(Landline/Mobile) 24x7 at these CSC.

But still they need to improve at technical side. Most of the Officials are lack of technical knowledge & they doesn't know how to handle Tech-Geek customers.
As compare to 2yrs back, Now they improved a lot.

AFAIK BSNL is NOT troubleing/Harassing its PORT-OUT customers. If they eligible for PORT-OUT, they silently approve your request & most of the times they never ask you the reason for PORT-OUT nor they try to retain you.

After 6yrs BSNL has modified its Tariff Plans, Here they are:

I already faced some problem in the month of Oct-Nov 2011, There is a poor signal strength & frequent disconnection of net iin Tata photon plus.Within 10 days i registered lot of complaints nearly 20 complaints.

A TV tuner is only necessary if you need to get directly from the airwaves in to your PC. If you already have an STB, then that's being done for you, and you just need to send the signal directly from the STB to the media capture card.

Although its least on vodafone 2-3 per days .. no calls .
Reliance 10-12 per day.. sometime calls too .
Airtel 5-6 per day.. sometime calls too ..

At last, Yesterday night (My friend) received response(SMS) from Vodafone saying that:
Hello, We have received your Porting Request VX****** dated 18th Feb 2011. We will validate your request and will revert on confirmation by 96hrs TAT from the time we received the request from MCH.

As I stated in my previous post, Actually his UPC code was expired on 17th Feb itself :O
I don't know how they validated his request on 18th Feb!! :pleasehelp:

Anyway lets hope for good & lets see what happens in this 96hrs.

Sorry guys, i was in the middle of replying to Amish when my entire house wiring burnt out, had to move in with my father till it got repaired. Well, that prodding thing worked for a month, that's the first thing i tried but then it really drew it's breath when i said it did. Will get a new fan as advised, that seems the best option, would be a shame to give up on my trusty smps entirely. Thanks for all the help.

I am using MTNL 3G jadoo services in Mumbai and very disappointed with the speeds that I am getting in Mumbai. The highest speed that I have got for download is 0.19mbps and upload speed of 0.16mbps on my SGS. Please suggest. I am from Mulund Mumbai and use it at Mulund and Andheri Sakinaka.
