Dhobi Ghat Trailer is out!

Posted: 21 Jan 2011 12:15 PM PST

alrighty. just came back from the late night show.

good movie. seriously. hard to find a fault with it.

the sad thing is. it is an art movie and it is not going to run for long.

folks in the theater were laughing through out. pretty much mocking what they were seeing. wrong audience for this type of a movie. i was sort of surprised to see an almost houseful even for day one.

if you want to see a good flick, do check this one out. it is a very untypical aamir khan movie. he is not the focus. Prateik Babbar is the star. Along with Monica Dogra. both of them are pretty phenomenal. amazing job done by kiran rao.

mobile number portability

Posted: 21 Jan 2011 12:02 PM PST

well... what you say is pretty much true. there is no concept of roaming in the united states and well it is a big enough country. we would eventually reach there.

Number portability in India

Posted: 21 Jan 2011 12:02 PM PST

Hi all,

I accept Number portability is good. But still Even if we move to some other state we will be on roaming!!!. But still why do we need roaming in india for an Indian Citizen.

Think out of the box. (Just think). Anybody needs roaming? The number portability should be applicable all over India.
Now the Mobile and wireless technology is well matured. It is very much advanced now.
But if there is any constraints in implementing it across India, it should be resolved with the technology we have.
I feel TRAI should take necessary steps in removing National roaming.

Similarly on these lines I want to add up one more thing...
If you want to migrate from one state to another you need to pay RTO(road tax) again in the new state for the vehicle which you already had.
We are Indian citizens why do we need to pay tax again just because we moved to some other state in the same country.
This is just a example.

Please comment on this topic.

Thanks

yes, you are perfectly right. Even We can see delay even in local cable. so there is no question that it is happening due to compression

The bolded part is untrue, i recall a cpl months or so back he was on all the major talkshows. Talking about how he wanted independent insititutions. He has a very coloured past, going back to the 80s, you would do well to critically examine it.

"I am not asking for the resignation of MMS, because he, as you all know, is only a puppet. I want to expose and punish the puppeteer. He also made references to the bribery involved in the 2G deal.

Well maybe it was considered too strident for public tv. The web is prolly the best place for these sorts of revelations. I mean just look at what he said, did you learn anything, no, you already know this. Does any one contend sonia is not the congress leader.

Sonia and her family made several trips to middle east and europe in private flights (so no records in commercial passenger lists); he has put all these in his letters to PM.

Ah, well how come he did not say any of this to the other channels. is jaya tv more pro freedom of speech than the rest ?

Or maybe just maybe he cannot back up those figures on closer examination ?

This guy is a politician, take what he says with a grain of salt.

That's a troubling development because if ppl lose faith in the law then we are left with chaos. When things get so low there is only one direction things can go and that is UP.

Beam Telecom in bangalore?

Posted: 21 Jan 2011 10:40 AM PST

Used to get around 420 - 450 KB with some torrents......... beam for me was just good at that :) But I hardly use torrents so the overall speed and good connectivity matter to me more.
