Posted: 29 Nov 2010 12:40 PM PST hard question to answer. first of all your plan is very old. it does not exist any longer. i do not remember the exact specifications. but i think your original plan was 2mbps unlimited without any FUP for Rs. 3000. long time ago, airtel applied a FUP of 100GB on all their plans. some users got it on their unlimited plans. others did not i assume. and a while ago, all the pure unlimited plans disappeared. there are no plans with high speeds with no FUP. from what i see, you should be getting around 220KBps all the time. at least up to 100GB of data transfer. and then it should fall down to 120KBps for the rest of the month. you say, you get a maximum of 60KBps. that can only mean one thing, you plan has been changed in the backend to one of the newer stupid plans and you have a terrible FUP. even at 256kbps i believe you should still get a minimum of 32KBps all the time in the month. call them up ask them what plan you have and what FUP is applicable on it. ---------- Post added at 02:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:09 AM ---------- since you have only mentioned about the upload speeds... 2mbps plan should have a minimum upload speed of 120KBps. and even after FUP is applied, it should be more than 32KBps. |

Beware of Aircel Mobile Connections Posted: 29 Nov 2010 11:57 AM PST OMG !!! why u have given such a huge amount to them ? Update from my side:- 1. yes, the first thing i did, FIR'ed against them & kept the copy with me for future. They even sent court notice to me, until i sent the FIR copy to the advocate with written mail with clear intention to drag him personally for harassment & Aircel to court for cheating. 2. They are black-listed in our office, over 200+ employees were victim of aircel form our office alone :) On other funny note, they still sending me acknowledgment of the mail i sent to their Nodal officer almost a year back :P. And they are very good in sending regular acknowledgment, they never forget to send it at-least twice a months :) |

Posted: 29 Nov 2010 11:35 AM PST Hi fellow Hyderabadis, Im am using DoCoMo for testing purpose for over a months & i feel its better then craptel in all terms. (I haven't checked GPRS/EDGE/3G services yet.) Some of the posts on this forum scared me about their services. Im planing to shift my primary number to docomo after MNP, what do you guys suggest? I am looking for 1. Good Network Coverage. 2. Good in-call voice clarity. (airtel & aircel sukx in this) 3. good service on GPRS/EDGE. (Im less concern about 3G services at this time) Please share your opinion, DoTheNew or back to Vodafone ? as im not able to bear crap-tel's pathetic services. |

MTNL Broadband 2 MBPS Unlimited @ 599/month Posted: 29 Nov 2010 10:40 AM PST Quote: 1. If you are lucky, you will get good service with MTNL 2. It's easier to fight with private players, according to my personal experience. It doesn't matter if they tend to settle any dispute on there side. Atleast you meet educated people. They are straight forward. Sir dard kam hai. I would rather pay Rs10,000 than to do sarak sarak with our sarkar. Nuff said. |
Tata Docomo GPRS speed reduced after the launch of 3G Posted: 29 Nov 2010 10:31 AM PST Quote: Before diwali (4th Nov), I was getting GPRS speed at 28 KBps, but after the 3G trial period offer ends, I am getting only 15KBps speed. I tried to select UMTS mode and GSM mode, but the speed is same. So it is not a network problem. Tata restricted the speed to 15KBps for GPRS users. At night time also I am getting the same speed. Not crossing above 15KBps at any time. i get over 150kbps(worst case) on vodafone EDGE (Xperia X10i). was thinking to permanently shift to DoCoMo after MNP but your post scared the shit out of me:O |

docomo network: a big disappointment!!! Posted: 29 Nov 2010 10:25 AM PST Quote: i frequent travel to east & south India, never found any network problem with docomo, which im facing in Craptel. Vodafone was also good except pathetic network in Bangalore. I will suggest wait for MNP & shift to the operator which provide best network in Mumbai.Im using this docomo for a month & waiting for MNP, i will port my primary number from craptel to docomo on the very first day, MNP available in our area :) |
