Posted: 01 Oct 2010 12:52 PM PDT For all their fault, Airtel has always been reliable, that's why I am loath to disconnect their service. Is Reliance better than BSNL? If not, I would rather try UL750 from BSNL. If I am going to enjoy 512kbps most of the month, I would rather pay for that instead of double the money for 5-7 days of extra speed. Why do Airtel boast of faster movie downloads in their ads, if they would only give the customer enough bandwidth for trailers. ---------- Post added at 01:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:14 AM ---------- If they are so strapped for cash where did they get billions of dollars to acquire Zain Telecom. If telecom companies cannot cater to 20 million Indians without resorting to bandwidth metering, how will they bring internet connectivity to even 1/3rd of the population? |

why do south indians despise Hindi? Posted: 01 Oct 2010 11:45 AM PDT ^^^ Yes.. That book covers the all the points very well. Well, To add my discussion on the topic. Am a north Indian and am in Bangalore for last 15 years here. I have many friends who are south Indians and most of them can speak hindi, They really do not have this issue. The issue comes when you go to states like Tamilnadu & Kerala. And by the way, My would be is from South India, so I really know what people have in there mind set. But the mentality of people are changing as many south Indians are going to places like Noida, Gurgaon, Mumbai for job opportunities and people are ready to learn Hindi. ---------- Post added at 12:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:13 AM ---------- And to add another point, I can speak fluent Kannada and I have never studied it in my school or college. |

Posted: 01 Oct 2010 10:13 AM PDT Quote: There are some TRAI recommendations that may soon make subscription in DTH on a per channel basis, hence customization of packs may soon be a reality. I do hope that Videocon d2h is the first one to do so and provide a pack just for you. why i am not getting full download speed Posted: 01 Oct 2010 09:34 AM PDT Speedtest isn't proof. Speedtest can be manipulated. Take a screenshot of some HTTP download from a public server. Otherwise if you are certain you're on a 128kbit/s plan, then my suspicion remains that you're speed has been boosted to at least 512kbit/s for the first few GBs in accordance with Airtel's new plans which were announceced in March and began happening in June or July. |
Is 0.02 MBps for Download and 0.13 Mbps for Upload standard for Bsnl Posted: 01 Oct 2010 09:31 AM PDT I can't be much help without some more information: 1. What plan are you on? 2. What city are you in? 3. What type of connection are you using and 4. Why do you keep posting results to Colombo? Colombo is a really really bad server, even for India and even despite it's geographic proximity to the country. Even I get pretty bad results to Colombo. Post Mumbai or Delhi or Singapore results please. |
