You can use any router of your choice. Nothing illegal in it.

1.Mention the modem and router you use.

2. Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig/all, post the screen shot.

You can do the following

a. Configure your modem in PPPoE.

b. Enable DHCP in modem.

c. In the TCP/IP properties of your connection, set " Obtain IP address automatically "

If you reset the router then the wifi password too will get reset back to default, that is why that bit is not working.

When you connect with the cable to it you should be able to access the GUI(config page) and set it up that way.

needed to update this thread. i received the refund a couple of days ago. took a lot of time and phone calls. but it worked in the end.

indexing of the forum is pretty good. not real time as some of my other blogs. but it is still pretty fast.

pagerank? not good. rankings compared to copycat forums? not good. but in general, it has worked well for me.

that is one of the major reasons i am still not sure about the planned migration to xenforo.

vb4 has been a major disappointment. they are trying to make amends with the release of 4.1 in the near future.

but xenforo looks pretty awesome and i want to use it here. too bad i do not have another forum to implement it :P
