would Iphone 4S work on CDMA network in india

Posted: 27 Apr 2012 12:55 PM PDT

Iphone 4S is successfully working on Reliance CDMA network in India. It's not very easy to do for novice end users. Requires MEID registration and some tough programming. Only Call and SMS work as of now, no Data. The same iphone 4S with GEVEY 4S GSM/CDMA SIM Interposer works with any GSM network in India. 3G data works in GSM with this method.

Cost of such MEID registered, programmed 16GB model is around 27-28K and for Gevey SIM interposer, extra Rs 3-4K.

Please suggest a decent wi-fi range extender / repeater and if it works both ways wirelessly

Posted: 27 Apr 2012 12:35 PM PDT

Do you need LAN in both rooms ?
The beetel can continue providing LAN to TS. Just switch the wireless radio off of the beetel. And, no both routers need not run dd wrt, only the one that has to behave as repeater needs dd wrt . Also, as mg pointed out, Asus too supports repeater mode in its native firmware (not sure about the N10) . Also, in terms of range, Asus > Netgear > TPLink. If you up your budget by 400 more, you can get the Buffalo Infiniti WHR 300 available on flipkart for 2400 bucks. Nice router, covers my 2500 sq ft quite efficiently.

Verizon FiOS Tests 10G Upstream and Downstream

Similar testing is being done in Portugal and some other places too. If memory serves, Verizon is working with Motorola and Zon is working with Alcatel Lucent.

Now all we need is faster hard drives.

You Scod 18 digital cable

Posted: 26 Apr 2012 12:59 PM PDT

I do not understand why a cable operator advertises having HD channels.

I checked the PDF of the STB shared here by @skorpio1 (Thank you.)
As I see the STB doesnt have HDMI or even component video out.

Composite video supports only DVD resolution picture and not HD.

But thank you everyone for having discussed the details here.
