Please guide regarding harassment for no fault of ours .. Posted: 07 Apr 2014 12:27 PM PDT Hi I need some help .. Two nights before my mom was driving the car and some young boy ( around 19-21 ) on the motorcycle tried to overtake when there was no space and landed up banging with our car .. My bua was also present in the car .. This guy told my mom she has to pay for his bike damages and says that the fault is hers .. My mom 64 years is assuring me that the fault is not hers and even my bua said that the fault was not hers ..
Heres whats happened he told my mom for her number and he took her cell phone and gave himself a missed call thereby getting her number .. My mom told him then n there that lets go to the cops but he refused saying lets sort the mess here .. She told him that he pays for our car damage and she pays for his bike damage .. The name plate fell off and this guy took it with him to his house ..
Today he called on her number so I answered the phone .. I told him to talk to me .. He said to pay up to which I told him to come to the police .. He said my mom promised she will pay .. I said NO she said you pay our damage we pay yours .. Hes refusing to believe that the fault is his .. Anyways after arguing he hung up .. Now after few hours his elder bro calls and says to pay up .. I said lets go to cops to which he tells me that he has very high contacts , I said so do I and then he says the matter will escalate into a fist fight if I dont pay up ..
Please guide me as to what I should do ..... Ive told him to wait till Monday as im slightly tied up .. What should I do ?? Should I pay up inspite of it not being our fault ??? |

airtel is not letting me port my number to Uninor (mobile number portability) Posted: 07 Apr 2014 12:06 PM PDT You people have to accept the fact that airtel is evil. Read my story to know why: * On 20th Jan, 2011 @ 11 PM, I sent an sms to 1900 to receive my UPC. Within minutes, I received my UPC which is valid until 3-Feb-2011. I sent this sms from the same airtel prepaid no. that I wanna port to Uninor. * On 22nd Jan, 2011 @ ~2 PM, I visited the nearest Uninor company store and the sales rep. filled up my CAF. I submitted my PAN card xerox as photo ID proof and voter's ID card xerox as address proof along with a photo. I paid 19 INR as porting charges + 112 INR as FRC (First ReCharge). SIM was free. I was given an inactive Uninor SIM which already had a no. allotted to it. Uninor sales rep. told me that your existing airtel no. will be activated on this SIM. I thanked him and left. Within a couple of hrs., I received an sms from Uninor saying "We have received your MNP request, it has been sent to your current operator for further processing. Thank You for choosing Uninor." - I was very happy that finally I'll be able to kick airtel mobile out of my life. * On 27th Jan, 2011 @ ~10 PM, I received an sms from 1901 saying "Dear Customer, your port-in request to Uninor has been rejected by your current operator. Please contact your operator for details." - I was like WTF??? ![]() I called up 198 and airtel's MNP helpline multiple times but not a single person helped me. All of them confirmed that there's absolutely no problem with my account and even they were surprised to hear that my porting request was rejected. * On 28th Jan, 2011, I visited the same Uninor store. Before I could say anything, the same sales rep. showed me their MNP portal on their laptop. He typed in my no. and it was clearly mentioned there... "Porting request rejected by current operator." - Below that there was box where a reason can be mentioned (optional). This box was blank - meaning airtel didn't mention/give any reason as to why my MNP request was rejected. The Uninor sales rep. then told me that airtel might be intentionally rejecting MNP requests. He said I'm not alone. There were 3 more people who wanted to port from airtel to Uninor. Their porting requests were rejected as well. :| In one of the rejected requests, a reason was mentioned. The reason was: "No. cannot be ported as customer is on lifetime prepaid plan." - We both were like WTF??? ![]() He also mentioned that the only rejected requests were from airtel. Porting requests of all other operators to uninor were successful. * Uninor sales rep. told me there's nothing he can do until airtel approves my porting request. So, I visited nearest ARC (airtel relationship center) and the gal there had no idea what I was talking about. She told me to call 999 from their phone. I did. I was connected to some "backend team." - I was told that my name, address or photo may be wrong. I told her that I have verified everything thrice and everything is absolutely correct. I hung up as she didn't give me any good solution. I visited yet another ARC. The guy there took down my no. and assured me that that the issue will be resolved in a day. Of course, you don't need to be a genius to understand that it was fake assurance / false hope. * I returned home and called the nodal officer's dept. He listened to everything I had to say and lodged a complaint (no. CMNRA20128683123). He assured me that it'll be resolved in 24 hrs. but it wasn't. * On 29th Jan, 2011, I called airtel's MNP helpline again and the rep. lodged a complaint (no. CMNRA20129806832). Now the Uninor sales rep. has told me that if this connection is not activated in 7-8 days from the porting request date, then I'll lose my 112 INR + 19 INR. There's nothing he can do. So, my wallet is lighter by 131 INR and I'm left with 4 complaint nos. and a useless airtel prepaid mobile connection. :@ * Update1: On 30th Jan, 2011 @ 12:24 AM, I received yet another sms from airtel which says "Thank you for contacting airtel. Your request reference no. is CMNRA20129119435." - Now, I haven't registered any fresh complaint so, I'm guessing someone from airtel_presence did this. I'm unsure. Also, my airtel prepaid connection is more than 3 years old so, the question of <=3 months old connection doesn't arise. * Update2: On 31st Jan, 2011 @ 4 PM, I called the airtel mobile nodal officer's dept. again. The lady said no complaints have been registered for MNP for your account till date. I was shocked to hear this. I told her I already have 3 complaint nos. in front of me. I asked whether they were fake/random. She wasn't able to give any satisfactory answer. She registered a fresh complaint (no. 252620). I'm speechless. :| * Update3: On 31st Jan, 2011 @ ~11 PM I sent Emails to airtel's Appellate authority and the airtel presence team. This morning, I received acknowledgment Emails from both of them. But, no one has bothered to fix this issue yet. * Update4: On 3rd Feb, 2011, I finally received a reply from the appellate office. But that's wrong information. Anyway, 3rd Feb, 2011 is here and my UPC is gonna expire today. I'll submit a fresh porting request in a couple of days. * Update5: 7th Feb, 2011: Still no reply from the nodal office or appellate office as to why my porting request was rejected. Thus, we can conclude that my porting request was illegally and intentionally rejected by airtel. * Update6: 22nd Feb, 2011: I had given a fresh MNP request with a fresh UPC about a week ago. Looks like airtel approved the request this time as my no. has been successfully ported to Uninor! As a bye-bye gift (?), airtel had changed my tariff plan from 1p/sec to 1rs/min since last 2 days. :| During this whole ordeal of mine, I didn't receive a single call back from airtel. :notallowed: I'm glad that finally I've kicked airtel broadband and mobile out of my house... Conclusion: airtel is a shameless cockroach that needs to be killed. Plz share this thread on FB and twitter. |
