On the lookout for an Android phone. Posted: 17 Apr 2014 11:34 AM PDT I've just finished my HSC examinations and was using Nokia E72, which runs on Symbian, until now.
Currently, I'm on the lookout for an Android phone, but I'm not at all an expert in these things. And hence, I'm asking for help from the members here.
The requirements: 1. Good/great display. I will be watching FullHD videos, so I would prefer a 1920 x 1080 Pixels resolution. 2. Screen size shouldn't be too much. 5.5 inches max. 3. 1.5 GHz processor (or better), and good graphic card, as I'll be playing games frequently. 4. 2 GB RAM (or 1.5 GB at least). 5. Good/great battery life. 6. The audio and video output should be good/great. 7. EXTERNAL MEMORY SHOULD BE AVAILABLE (or 32 GB internal).
I wrote the 7th point in BOLD because I've seen that many phones nowadays, like Nexus 5 or Moto X only have internal memory.
My budget is around 25-30K. Will be flexible if I come across a good product.
A response will be appreciated. |

Beetel 450TC1 ADSL Router not saving changes made to configuration Posted: 17 Apr 2014 10:57 AM PDT My Beetel 450TC1 ADSL Router going back to the previously saved settings after restart. I tried changing the password as well and it all seems to accept it till I restart it and then it would not accept my new password but accept the old one only. I tried making multiple changes in the configuration and saved it. The configuration looks as if it is saved when I visit the same router page back again after viewing few other pages but once I restart the router the configurations are back to the previous state. |
Posted: 17 Apr 2014 10:56 AM PDT Hi,
I have recently moved to ACT broadband. Prior to that, I was using Bsnl broadband connection. I am trying to reuse, DLink2730 if there is any possibility,
http://broadbandforum.co/topic/61310-how-to-configure-tikona-with-adsl2-router-dlink-dsl-2750u/
I have gone through some post in this forum, where the same model is used to work with Tikona. Tried all the steps mentioned in that post, not able to get ACT working.
Let me know, if there is anything done for this.

Not able to change authentication type in beetel 450 tc1 Posted: 17 Apr 2014 09:14 AM PDT I have beetel 450Tc1 and i am using it with my bsnl. In that everything i configured but the wireless authentication type is locked. I searched the forum from which i found that i need to downgrade the firmware from TM4-0Q-025 to TM4-0Q-020. The problem is that i am not able to get the firmware. Only new is available.
If any one who has could upload the old firmware it would be very good for me. |
Applied for a new connection - Aundh, Pune Posted: 17 Apr 2014 09:04 AM PDT I had applied for a new reliance broadband connection (to get the Thunder 1099 plan) on 24th March, 2014 in Aundh, Pune. I was told that service is available in my area and a sales representative will come in 2-3 days.
As expected, no one called or showed up. I have called customer care for 4-5 times now (after every 5 days or so) and every single time they had the same reply - "We are extremely sorry, we have forwarded your request as urgent to the sales department and a representative would come to you in 2 days".
This shows the pathetic service of reliance communication, even in a city like Pune. I dare not imagine what the situation would be in other places.
I never imagined that there would be any company in the world that would not want new customers. But, i think i have found the one and only company.
Anyways, i have complained to the nodal officer today. Lets see, if that helps.
I started this post to inform everyone about the problems i faced and will face to get a new connection (if Reliance wants to give one). |
Posted: 17 Apr 2014 09:02 AM PDT I recently signed up with tikona. I experienced extremely slow download speeds. I called up their customer support team and told them about this issue, very next day I had to summit one of my important project...the best part I would like to highlight is their support team I explained my issue which I was facing and even told them I need to submit my project, without wasting time told me that they will be sending some tech supp at my place and he will be able to help me with this issue. I waited for half n hour their was no revert from their end, I got little worried and very next moment technician was here at my place. And I don't no what he did in that 15 min my connection was back in normal speed . I thanked him for that because I didn't expect that they help me to fix my issues quickly without much fuss... Tikona customer service is commendable, yes I could say this from my recent experience! |

MTNL Broadband is inserting Adphonso powered malware on all customer devices Posted: 17 Apr 2014 08:12 AM PDT I have MTNL ADSL broadband in Delhi. Today I saw this popup on the side when I connected online (I removed my telephone number from the image):
After looking for the inserted code, I discovered that MTNL is inserting iframes inside the webpages!
The popup is being loaded from http://www.adphonso.com/testmtnl.php?CSID=22221504@mtnl
(I changed the telephone number in the URL above) More scrips are inserted from MTNL address 203.94.243.40
The adphonso website belongs to an adversiting company and that is a big problem
Are you guys seeing this sort of popups too? If yes, do you think is it safe?
I think this way inserting codes inside webpages is not good for the privacy of users. |
MTS Mblaze wi-fi 999 (40GB plan), did I make wrong choice? Posted: 17 Apr 2014 08:11 AM PDT So I just bought the MTS Mblaze wi-fi (usb dongle) 999rs plan, getting 40gb with the package. I was excited because I thought I would get speeds of up to 9.8mpbps - heck even HALF at 4.9 was a good deal. Even 4mbps is passable, but having used it for 1.5-2 weeks now and the highest I've gotten (whether it's 3pm or 4am) is 3.2mbps. That's highest mind you. Average is like 1.8-2.4mbps. That is not what I expected, although the 40gb limit helps.
I'm in Gurgaon, DLF Phase 2 and this is the issue I'm getting. Tata Photon get's me 4-5mbps (I have it for work, and only 4GB). Is it because MTS servers are overloaded? I really wanted a data stick with high speeds, high data for less than 2k. 999 was a bargain at the time, 'acclaimed' fast speeds, huge bandwidth for the price - but now it's becoming an issue.
I was even playing Dota 2 last few days, where my ping fluctuates between 150 to 600, essentially ruining my game (I just played a game now, before I played I had a speedtest.net ping of 94 and dl speed of 2.7mbps, but the game was awful to play in). If I use the Tata, it doesn't do this, it's extremely annoying. Have I made the wrong choice? Is there an alternative? Should I complain.. again?
What experiences have you folks had?
