Tikona experince in Nagpur?

Posted: 23 Feb 2014 12:01 PM PST

It's been a week since I am waiting for tikona to send a Technician to tell me if it's avalible in my area or not.
I am stuck with bsnl with 1350 4mbps 20gb fup plan
Am I making the step in the right direction or I shouldn't go for tikona 4mbps 80gb then speed around 1-2 Mbps?
If anyone from Nagpur is experienced with tikona then please tell me your experience as I am scared a bit after reading the complains about tikona.

Huawei MediaPad X1 hands-on | Android Central

On the inside, Huawei is going with a relatively unknown Kirin 910 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM — in our time with the device the UI seems snappy and fluid with not a single slowdown. The display comes in at an impressive 1200 x 1920 and looks absolutely great to our eyes with solid viewing angles and colors. Huawei is still doing some weird things with its interface that keep icons and settings overly-colorful to our eyes, but if you know its interface than you'll feel at home here.
The rest of the device rounds out just like most of Huawei's other devices — a 13MP Sony Exmor R camera on the rear and wide-angle 5MP camera on the front, a few new camera modes and the ability to charge other devices off the USB port. The hardware design is a step in the right directon for Huawei and really feels like a more premium device. The software still needs some work, we think, but is also heading in the right direction.

Custom Plans on Airtel Broadband

Posted: 23 Feb 2014 10:46 AM PST

Airtel called me today and said since I'd taken Smartbytes for 12gb last month, they wanted to offer 125 fup plan(80gb now) at the same speed(8mbps) for 50rs extra.

I also heard they are giving 3g at 2g rates in my area these days.

Is airtel on a PR improving spree? Anyone got offers like this?

HP intros the ProPad 600 tablet, updates the existing ElitePad with LTE and a sharper screen

Oh, and speaking of the ElitePad 900, HP is refreshing it with some updated specs. Now called the ElitePad 1000, it rocks the same aluminum design as the original, except it steps up to a 64-bit processor and a sharper 1,920 x 1,200 screen -- the same one used on the new ProPad 600. It also has an LTE radio, and trades a USB 2.0 port for USB 3.0. Otherwise, the battery life is the same, at around 10 hours, and it fits all the same optional Smart Jackets as the old model. That's mainly good news for IT guys, who may have already purchased productivity and power covers to issue to employees. At any rate, the tablet should land in March, with a starting price of $739.

Chief among these is the ProPad 600, a 10.1-inch device intended for the small biz market. HP hasn't revealed the price yet, but it's obviously going to cost less than the company's existing ElitePad 900 tablet -- the move to plastic build materials makes that pretty clear. That plainer design aside, it offers comparable performance, with a 64-bit Intel Baytrail chip, dual 2MP/8MP cameras and a 1,920 x 1,200, optically bonded display that supports pen input. Connectivity-wise, you're looking at micro-HDMI-out, along with a microSD slot and a standard micro-USB port for charging.

Saga of Light Hearted Bantering by Tarun Tejpal

Posted: 23 Feb 2014 10:01 AM PST

The editor-in-chief of a leading investigative magazine is being probed over claims that he sexually assaulted a woman colleague, a senior police official said on Friday, after the media, activists and politicians urged a criminal prosecution.
The case came to light after the victim complained in an email to a superior that Tarun Tejpal, founder of the award-winning weekly, Tehelka, assaulted her twice in a hotel elevator during a conference in the resort state of Goa this month.

I had no idea they could do this...

While she has not formally complained against Tejpal, police said they decided to act on the basis of the media reports of the leaked complaint, and that Tejpal could face charges of outraging the modesty of a woman and rape.

Media people can speak the same quality of bullshit as politicians...

Tikona Broadband User Experiences

Posted: 23 Feb 2014 09:08 AM PST

Thought I would start another thread for people who have actually used this service to describe their experience.

They have started advertising quite heavily in Bombay and their plans seem pretty decent. Their 600kbps UL plan would be excellent for me.

I really like the way they have bill limits for their limited plans as well. That shows they understand consumer concerns about enormous bills and have designed their plans to allay them.

So how good is their service? Any down time? How quickly do they respond to complaints? Really any information from people who have used Tikona would be appreciated.

BSNL - EVDO - Usage - Review and everything about it

I know its a old school connection , about 4 years old but till now there isnt a better wireless plan compared to this till now

Rs 750 Pm True Unlimited . Prepaid

Pros:
1. True Unlimited no FUPs - i download around 100-150 Gbs a month, i can download upto 200-300 Gbs but i run out of files
2. Priced cheap compared to others , when they charge Rs 1000 with 10 Gb FUP
3. U dont have to talk to the customer care ever

Cons:
1. it has too many
2. Coverage is too thin , forget about slow speed there are places where u wont get any service at all
3. u just cannot walk to a BSNL office and buy this sim , because 70% of them doesnt know there is a service like this
4. CDMA
5. Availability of CDMA- EVDO modems in the market
6. Recharge Problems , those STVs mentioned on the site dont work most of the time ( lost Rs 1000 over online Recharge couple of times)

even after all the above i just love this connection , its prepaid and costs 750 pm , unlimited
have nice coverage in my town , so always get 1-2mbps , but dont ask about the ping or latency values

with this connection i have never thought about another connection for 3 years now .

have some doubts ? want details ? ask it here

happy to help

fZvme.jpg

Max speed , remind u that my device supports upto 3.1mbps only

Recharge:

recharge for Rs 20 for 6 months validity , make with a retailer if he says this amount is not available insist that it works

topup for any amount you like , every 30 days the rental would get deducted automatically

VHP's Ashok Singhal: Hindu families should have five kids each

Posted: 23 Feb 2014 07:57 AM PST

Each Hindu couple should have five children: VHP's Ashok Singhal — timesofindia.indiatimes.com

Vishwa Hindu Parishad convenor Ashok Singhal said here on Saturday that unless conversions were stopped immediately, the day would not be far off when Hindus would be reduced to a minority in this country. Addressing a press conference, he said it has become "imperative" for each Hindu couple to have five children.

I guess Hindus becoming a minority would be a good thing because of the benefits associated with being a minority in this country!

Windows Phone 8.1

Posted: 23 Feb 2014 05:38 AM PST

http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/08/windows-phone-notifications/

You know how it goes, you buy a phone on eBay, and it comes with a developer / pre-release version of a major mobile OS. Well, if these images are to be believed, that's at least what happened to one bargain-hunting Windows Phone fan. The screenshots -- said to be taken from a Nokia 920 -- show Windows Phone 8, but with a few new tweaks and features. Most notable, will likely be the notifications, but other tidbits include App list ordering based on frequency of use, week view in the calendar and the option to kill apps from the multitask screen. The phone reports a build number of: 12084.WPMAIN(wpbldlab).20130509-1407 leading some to infer that this version could have been compiled sometime in May. A tease of something to come? As always, hard to tell, but expect the price of second-hand 920s to bump up a little, for the next few weeks at least.
