Posted: 14 Jan 2014 12:49 PM PST With the recent spurt of people going offtopic, I saw the need of this thread. Here you can go offtopic as much as possible. Post whatever you want, with just one condition that at least post something sensible that someone else would reply. Don't just post crap. Thread hijacking is totally allowed here. That being said, I'd like to post this. Today, while coming to office, I was listening to Radio Mirchi, and there the RJ was playing songs dedicated by the parents for their child(ren). There's one father who dedicated the song "Kajra Re" for his son. There's another father who dedicated the song "Dhoom Machale Dhoom" for his son. Now, after those two requests, there was one mother who dedicated the song "Jaadu Jaadu" for her daughter. Now we can see the real contrast in the choice of songs between the dads and the mom (or for the son and the daughter). What do you think which was it? Or does it indicate some kind of specific mentality? |

Motorola Moto G Google Play edition Posted: 14 Jan 2014 12:10 PM PST http://techwhack.co/motorola-moto-google-play-edition-50105/ Advantages?
Faster Android updates? Motorola is fast. They released KitKat for Moto X before Google released KitKat for Nexus 4 right? 18 month Android updates? Motorola might or might not support their devices for 18 months? Maybe they would beat Google with a longer support? Photo Sphere capable camera?
Disadvantages?
You lose Motorola enhancements. Which are not that many on G as they are on X. ... ...
I hope Google launches this edition in India. Would be more interested in this compared to Motorola's version. |

D-Link DWR-113 as a DSL + 3G router? Posted: 14 Jan 2014 11:18 AM PST Would the D-Link DWR-113 3G Wi-Fi Router be a good option to use with YouBroadband?
I'm looking at this router as an option so that I can have continuous connectivity with a 3G Reliance Netconnect+ dongle as a backup. Would anyone of you recommend this setup?

ISP suggestions needed for Mumbai Posted: 14 Jan 2014 11:03 AM PST Hi, I am currently using Tikona and very unhappy with the service. I have large drops in speed during the day and need to switch ISPs. I am based in Worli, more specifically near Hard Rock Cafe, and would like suggestions for an ISP. My usage is quite heavy, approx 200GB/month. Any Hayai users have feedback? I could only find flaming posts dated all the back in '11 and would like feedback from people who have actually used it. |

Posted: 14 Jan 2014 10:12 AM PST Yeah yeah I know many threads exist already. My mom wants to replace her old Nokia phone. Her requirements are: Video conferencing via Skype/Tango Using the following: SBI Mobile app ICICI mobile app Airtel mobile app Calling and texting. I guess only Android phones apply cause of the app restrictions, not sure though. Screen size should not exceed 4.7 And budget is 16K ish. Also Indian brands are a last resort. Any ideas? Cause we want to buy in the Diwali sales by FK and others. And oh yes I'll be rooting it after warranty goes and updates stop. |

It showed upload speeds as Big as 500KBps, whereas at my home i get 80KBps at max. How has BSNL began to provide such a large speeds? Any idea.

Funny Videos, Images and Jokes Posted: 14 Jan 2014 08:46 AM PST MS staff There was a pilot flying a small single engine charter plane, with a couple of very important executives on board. He was coming into Seattle airport through thick fog with less than 10m visibility when his instruments went out. So he began circling around looking for landmark. After an hour or so, he starts running pretty low on fuel and the passengers are getting very nervous. Finally, a small opening in the fog appears and he sees a tall building with one guy working alone on the fifth floor. The pilot banks the plane around, rolls down the window and shouts to the guy "Hey! Where am I?" To this, the solitary office worker replies "You're in a plane." The pilot rolls up the window, executes a 275 degree turn and proceeds to execute a perfect blind landing on the runway of the airport 5 miles away. Just as the plane stops, so does the engine as the fuel has run out. The passengers are amazed and one asks how he did it. "Simple" replies the pilot, "I asked the guy in that building a simple question. The answer he gave me was 100 percent correct but absolutely useless, therefore that must be Microsoft's support office and from there the airport is just a while away." __________________________________________________________ Is Windows a virus? No, Windows is not a virus. Here's what viruses do: They replicate quickly Okay, Windows does that Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so okay, Windows does that Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk Okay, Windows does that, too Viruses are usually carried, unknown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems Sigh... Windows does that, too Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2) and the user will buy new hardware Yup, that's with Windows, too Until now it seems Windows is a virus but there are fundamental differences: Viruses are well supported by their authors, are running on most systems, their program code is fast, compact and efficient and they tend to become more sophisticated as they mature So, Windows is *not* a virus __________________________________________________________ Note about Winblows '95 Windows '95 supports Plug 'n' Pray peripherals!!! __________________________________________________________ What's the difference between Bill Gates and Robert Tappen Morris, Jr. (the Internet Worm Hacker)? When will BSNL launch new plans ? Posted: 14 Jan 2014 08:43 AM PST hi Guys,
Its frustrating that BSNL is yet to launch truly unlimited 1/2/4 Mbps plans for < 1500Rs. Its perpetually offering 512Kbps speeds from last 4-5 years. Not only that, they are not even offering speed boost say after 6pm like MTNL does. Its not only about downloading torrents. Even if i want to watch Youtube files, I am not able to with 512kbps. They should start offering speed boost to 2/4Mbps at 6pm to 8am slot if offering the same at daytime is not possible. What can we do in this situation ? Can we all raise a CRM ticket at selfcare portal to demand this ?

Suggest me a RO or UV water purifier? Posted: 14 Jan 2014 08:38 AM PST I was drinking "WELL" water since kid and it turned out hard water almost a decade ago. Then started having METRO water(without chlorine) till now. That too not safe to drink coz it contains an oily substance when the water gets settled.
Now i've planned to use "WELL" water.
What should i go for? RO or UV? Both available in single unit?
