Posted: 15 Dec 2013 12:07 PM PST In fact, Disney has announced their next major animated film under the Walt Disney Studios name, Moana (Mo-AH-na). The film, which features CG animation which Bleeding Cool suggests will be evocative of the 2012 short "Paperman," is being directed by John Musker and Ron Clement, best known for Aladdin and The Princess and the Frog. The film will be a "mythic adventure set around 2000 years ago and across a series of islands in the South Pacific." Mark Mancina (The Lion King, Tarzan, Brother Bear) will be doing the music.

Access Issues in BSNL Broadband Posted: 15 Dec 2013 11:14 AM PST Hi Guys,
I have a really irritating problem here with my BSNL connection.
Now the deal is:
I have 2 laptops and 1 tablet. Now on laptop no 1 the internet works perfectly. On laptop number 2 most the websites do not open. Only the basic stuff like google and fortunately this website open. On my tablet. Initially everything worked perfectly, and suddenly one day most websites stop opening. Google playstore opens but does not install anything or update any of my apps. Initially I thought some issue with the laptop no 2 and the tablet, but then I set up a wifi from my cell phone (Airtel 3G tethering) and could open every website and update apps.
Now I have a standarad BSNL modem (or router not sure i get confused with terminology) and it is connected to an iball router / modem connected to the BSNL modem for wifi connectivity (iball baton 150m wireless-n router).
Now the problem is while Laptop no 2 and tablet don't have access to most things, laptop 1 works. And I am annoyed out of my mind trying to get his fixed on my own. Thought I could use some help.
Btw I have tried the following things - restart modem (BSNL one and the WIFI one), switched on and off my firewall, cmd > flushdns; changed IP on the iball modem, switched off the default firewall and security features on the iball router. So open to all other suggests!
Thanks Guys!!

Beetel modem functioning strangely Posted: 15 Dec 2013 11:07 AM PST Hi
I have got a BEETEL modem(450TC2) given for free by Airtel.
I updated the firmware to dt850w-a1.006.ras since WIFI-Authentication Type was disabled by default by Airtel.
Now I have configured the modem to BSNL. Internet throguh wire and wireless are working fine.
But the strange thing is "DSL and INTERNET LED lights are not glowing, but only POWER and WLAN are".
Is that okay? Please help me to understand.

The general cricket discussion thread Posted: 15 Dec 2013 10:25 AM PST Why this thread? So often, we have some random thought or point to make/discuss , and I personally sometimes skip it as I feel it is not worthy of a new thread & feel its unfair to hijack an existing thread... Would recommend creating new thread for any big news & as usual we have threads for specific series/tournaments.. This is for something general random posts related to cricket...Kind of the Cricket Offtopic thread... Will start with one post ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Misbah & Taibu seem to competing with each other for the prize of who can bat more defensively.... ---------- After beating NZ in the 3rd ODI with a draing chase... Now Zimbabwe are on verge on possibly upsetting them in the Only Test... 116 needed in 34 Overs (Incl mandatory Overs) with the new ball just taken |

Posted: 15 Dec 2013 07:47 AM PST This is a short review of Nextra fiber to the home (ftth) broadband for anyone else wondering whether they should take the plunge. I had earlier thought to wait for a week and then post but seeing how i had time on my hands and how stable and smooth everything is going I am doing it now, will post any negative developments here if they do occur. Minimum speed offered is a fast 10mbps, i have subscribed to 10mbps 80GB FUP @ 1899 as going further up was mostly a waste for me with just 5 internet sharing devices, with most of the heavy lifting being done by the desktop. An awesome difference from adsl is upload and download speeds are nearly the same.. Post FUP is a manageable 512kbps up and down...something i griped about a lot with airtel with its 256kbps. A minor detail is that the fup data is calculated on a prorated basis-Even though i subscribed on the 30th, my billing cycle is 20/19 and the data in my balance was 53.xxGB and not 80 which was to be used till the 19th. There would also probably be monthly fluctuation for the 30/31/28 days (unlike airtel with constant 80GB). I was on airtel bb for the last 5 years with speeds progressing from 256kbps to 512 to 2mbps to the final 4mbps (when 8mbps suddenly became feasible for my area faced with competition from nextra) for the last month of its usage. Airtel was much better than what i had been used to before, but with its own often deeply irritating flaws and crappy experiences. It will not be missed ![]() Installation Fiber had already been installed upto my house leading upto an ericsson modem which has outputs to a lot of stuff, the society intercom being one of them. Installation was just a matter of connecting the ethernet cable to my own WiFi router, registering this router's MAC with nextra (something that needs to be done again if you change your router), and setting the internet connection mode to DHCP. The tech exec was quick to show up and the connection was up and running within 18 hours of document collection. You immediately receive a password for the nextraworld website on your registered mobile number. Initial Issues Websites sometimes would fail to load and show up as a blank page instead, a deeply irritating issue which will scare you to make any sort of financial transactions with the connection (even though i know there are safeguards in place). The exec was helpful enough to troubleshoot and gave an assurance it will be fixed within the day. Posted about this on another thread. The issue seemed to originate with nextra's banner ad injection on webpages sometimes. It was being used to show the customer promotional offers and other information for the connection. Something that I did not like one bit. Called up the cust care, the operator was quick to understand my problem and did not deny the practice or give any mindless reason like malware. Assured that it would be forwarded to the backend and be deactivated. Sure enough I received a call from the backend from a well spoken exec and he confirmed my request for disabling this 'feature' a final time and that was the last I saw any injections or that issue of websites not loading. It has been smooth sailing ever since. General usage Pings I am not an online gamer, I am content with single player mode Dirt 3 ![]() They are better than airtel, unlike what i stated before in another thread when i hadn't tested so thoroughly. Below are some comparative shots for a general idea- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Speeds Speed is not very noticeable for lighter websites, though 1080p youtube now plays effortlessly and switches seamlessly to this mode and bitmeter reports full 10mbps when doing so. Something that is very important for me and that rarely happened with airtel. A 1080p youtube screenshot with bitmeter graph. ![]() Uploading is a similar story, dropbox uploads are speedy as well using nearly all of the bandwidth. Torrents from IPT yield full speed of 1.1 to 1.2MBps which i use a lot for tv shows (I don't abide by copyright laws for them ![]() ![]() ![]() Stability The connection is stable as ever but can only comment on this after some time. I have the modem and router hooked up to an APC home UPS i had lying around uselessly to avoid a disconnect in the time it takes for the society gensets to kick in. However, I have yet to see its results, the airtel connection would not drop with this setup, not so sure about fiber. Despite the earlier hiccups nextra did live up to my expectations. Airtel was very cooperative for a change for registering my disconnection request, and it would be done so within the week. Adios airtel. Bottom line: I can never go back to adsl again! |

Posted: 15 Dec 2013 07:32 AM PST This is for those who have an ICICI credit card or debit card which proclaims certain special benefits on on-line bookmyshow bookings.
It reads something like this...
Get up to Rs. 200 off every month on movie tickets Rs. 100 off on every movie ticket booked on www.bookmyshow.com. Maximum 2 tickets can be booked per month.
. Nice na...BullS**t......
when i tried to book a movie then apply the coupon through bookmyshow website it said that
"Sorry, we can`t proceed with the booking for this offer since the Total Number of Tickets for Today has been exhausted OR You may have applied it to an ongoing transaction which is not yet cancelled. Please try again after 20 mins."
so you think you did something wrong then again u try and again u get the same msg ..
So what is matter..
ICICI has a daily quota for the number of tickets which can be booked through this coupon as said to me by CC. This thing is nowhere mentioned in the website clearly , only some text in T&C with no mention of the total no of seats.
So no one knows what the quota is !!! great....even IRCTC is more transparent in this.
Clearly ICICI & Bookmyshow lived up to their expectations. best at fooling the customers...
Request everyone to share this as much as possible so that these people stop this BS , fooling customers by lofty banners on their websites and pamphlets. |

Thunder 699, Pune: Frequently getting logged out, cannot log back in immediately Posted: 15 Dec 2013 05:32 AM PST Hi,
Last month, I shifted from BSNL to Reliance after about 6 years. Opted for the Thunder 699 plan. While I'm downloading torrents it works fine, even at 10 hours at a stretch with very stable speeds of 220-250 KBps.
But when the connection is idle (no downloading/uploading of torrents), I get logged out randomly. Sometimes after 10 min, sometimes an hour. Not just that, even when I am browsing, or streaming a YouTube video, I get logged out at times. While that's not a problem, I cannot log back in immediately. The Reliance login page just doesn't open. I have tried the following:
- entering the IP address of the login page. -trying different browsers -trying 4 different "auto-login" software
Nothing works. I have to restart my router and my computer and wait for random amounts of time.
What could be the issue?
Location: Pune Router: D Link 2750u OS: Win XP
Your suggestions/help would be really appreciated. |

ACT broadband from best to worst Posted: 15 Dec 2013 04:16 AM PST I have applied for transfer of connection as I have moved to a new house on 14th sep 2013. My ticket number - 1221583.
The house is in the same area where I was residing earlier ( Nagawara, Bangalore - 560045).
Already 8 days are over from the day I raised the ticket. But still nobody has contacted me from ACT so far. I called up customer care almost 10 times. All the time I get the same stereotype answer that they forwarded to the concerned department. I am in urgent need of the connection; but these type of lazy action and lazy words from them irritates.
Note that, when I have applied for new connection 2 years back, they were very quick to call back, they were quick to install and everything was perfect. But now, they have SWALLOWED enough money and not willing to move their back to do their work.
So PATHETIC service from ACT broadband.

Problem with online bill payment Posted: 15 Dec 2013 04:11 AM PST I am unable to make bill payment online using acttv.in. I have reported this issue multiple times to customer care. They don't care to fix this issue. But they are behind to collect money when the payment date is due. I find it totally inconvenient to make payment in person as I don't stay at home in day time. Fix this issue urgently.

DSL blink problem for WA3002G4 modem Posted: 15 Dec 2013 04:05 AM PST Hi, I have a BSNL broadband connection since 6 years. Recently I have been noticing occasional DSL light blink problems. Lineman has come to our pole & my home to check the connectivity, everything seems to be right according to him.
I am using WA3002G4 modem since 6 years. Is it giving any problem ? How am I supposed to run the diagnostics test ? Where are UTStarCom service centers in Hyderabad ?
Can someone please throw some light on the modem usage & lifetime ?

[BSNL Amritsar] Pings fluctuate while testing speed or watching youtube videos Posted: 15 Dec 2013 03:54 AM PST Hello Members,
Is it an issue with higher data congestion on my BSNL Broadband line coming to my place from exchange or something else. Latency fluctuation is causing issues in multitasking i.e. Downloading + Online gaming. I am using BSNL broadband as "Always on with multi-user". I am wondering what to explain these BSNL customer care guys about this situation. |
