What is the feasibility status of ACT at rustumbag next to manipal hospital, bangalore-560017? I would like to apply for a new connection if there is feasibility.

It has just been about 8 days since I took up the ACT Broadband connection and it has failed since 3 PM today. I have raised a complaint and the number is 0001483153. I shifted from YOU broadband to ACT assuming that I would have uninterrupted service here, however that does not seem to be the case. A failure in under 10 days is totally unacceptable and I have not been able to work since 3 PM. I work from home mostly and this down time is totally unacceptable. 

 

Please prioritize this and sort out my issue failing which I will be terminating my connection.

My name is Vivek Sinha Anurag and i am going to post some "great" work shown by Act Broadband.

I applied for ACT Broadband 5 Mbps plan [its having cap value of 35GB after that speed will reduce to 256 kbps] by calling their customer care on 16th Aug 2011. I was surprised to see their lightening fast response as the representative came to my doorstep the very next day and on 17th Aug 2011 Mr Ashitt O.S. collected the money and documents and told me that withing 5 days i will get my connection and i even got sms confirmation that my request no is 142263.

Now the real story started. Even after 6 days no one ever bothered to check my request so i called customer care [ 080-42840000] to remind them and i was told that i will get it withing next 2 days. I waited for next 2 days and called them again.

I was surprised to learn a new technical term from them that they are "Uploading network" hence its taking time and soon i will get my connection. Since my work was getting affected because of their delay i applied for a BSNL connection too. Now today is 5th September and i am still waiting for the connection and to my surprise i got the BSNL broadband last week.

I tried escalating this matter and asked the customer care for any high level contact and they said that i need to mail helpdesk@acttv.in. I emailed them but i got no response.

Please note some points regarding ACT broadband before applying ACT broadband
1. They dont have nodal officer/appellate authority [against TRAI rules and i have already escalated this matter to TRAI officials with the help of pgportal.gov.in]
2. They have a customer base of 2500 users in bangalore and they are not able to manage even this small number.
3. They DO NOT PROVIDE STATIC IP [even if they claim to do so]
4. Their customer care service is useless. All you will losse is your balance by talking to them
5. They can "Upload network" [You can imagine the understanding capability of their technicians]
6. They are fast in collecting money but lazy in delivering service

Final conclusion: To be on safe side stay away from them else you will suffer like me. Morning shows the day and even before using their service i am suffering. Don't know what will happen when i get the connection and i face any problem that time.

Recently, I bought a D-Link DSL-2730u Wireless N 150 ADSL2+ 4-Port Router(i.e also modem) to connect to my Airtel broadband.

I've given up after repeated failures to connect to the Internet.
When I ran the diagnostics through 192.168.1.1 of the modem, the process is failing in the step when its connecting to the ISP. I've validated the ISP's username and password but still It gets failed there.

Though, I am getting a valid DSL signal, but after that its throwing the error 651.
I'm using Windows 7. And searched the net for all possible solutions for this error. Tried each one of it, nothing's working.

Am I configuring the Modem right?

Please assist as to what settings I must put.

I have you broadband connection at home. Basically the LAN wire is directly attached to the computer Ethernet and I have to connect to the internet via network option in the windows by giving username and password. I have seen some of you people are doing up wifi connection via interface grouping.

I have Dlink 2750U modem at home. How do I configure my modem for WiFi and to connect to the internet without dialing the internet all the time ?

Guys, I'm from chandigarh and on 1350UL plan. (4mbps till 20gb 512after)

 

though i only get 2mbps.

 

And its been 2 weeks since the problem is happening. I'm using Netgear n300. Net keeps randomly disconnecting. And i have to reset modem/router then it works and again down.. repeat

 

Dunno if its BSNL or the Router. What should I do? Laptop ain't the problem, as disconnection occur on my ps3/tablet as well.

Samsung is pushing SSD capacities to new heights with the launch of a 1TB drive in the compact mSATA form factor.

Designed as an upgrade for ultra-thin laptops as well as desktops with mSATA capabilities, the fact that something so small can store up to 1TB of data is amazing in and of itself. 

The drive is part of its 840 EVO series but as it is in the mSATA form factor it is much smaller; it's just 3.85mm thick and weighs in at 8.5g. Samsung suggests the new drive can be used alongside another storage device, even within a notebook, thanks to its compact dimensions and light weight.

The drive will also be available in 120GB, 250GB and 500GB versions and is capable of sequential read and write speeds of 540MB/sec and 520MB/sec respectively, according to the company.

Finished first season. It reminds me of two shows... First Collar on how it is presented. Mad Men because the character of Harvey Specter is so freaking similar to Don Draper.

The problem is that Specter is like 5% of what Draper is. It just does not feel solid enough. When Draper talks, you listen. When Specter talks, you hope that he would say something that would impress you. Sadly, it does not happen very often.

BSNL Broadband services have been messed up again. I have been having extremely low speeds and DSLReport tests show a high packet loss. I cannot even get a page to load properly despite reloading 8-10 times This has been happening since last thursday. Anyone else affected in Calcutta?

I was experimenting Airtel Money, and recharged Airtel Money account for Rs 110. But when I have completed all the steps, its showing error "You have insufficient balance in your Airtel Money Account". May I know why I'm getting this error message? Is there a minimum balance required to do bank transfer through Airtel Money?

I just found this out from CC. I wanted to temporarily disconnect my service since I won't use it for some time. CC said that it can't be done. So, I asked about the smallest plan available and the guy told me there is one plan of 349. It is not listed on the web.

 

If you also want to put your connection on hold, or for any other reason want a even cheaper U/L BB, call up CC at 180030007777 and polite ask if there is a small plan available.

PS: Plan is Rs.349 + tax for 600Kbps U/L for one month.
