Fair Usage Policy - How many of you agree with my usage policy ? Posted: 24 Nov 2013 12:31 PM PST Although I have posted this here, it is applicable to anyone who has to deal with the shit called FUP. I have a 16 Mbps/80 GB plan from Airtel. Now there are some months where I do download beyond the 80 GB limit, but this is very rarely. Like say twice or thrice a year. Most of the time I am averaging 40-50 GB. Now, my point is shouldnt I be allowed to carry forward my unused data. I mean, I did pay for it. If not that then give me my money back for the unused data or adjust it with the bill. Are they any ISPs inside or even outside of India practicing this ? or am I just kidding myself. |

Till friday i was getting 512kbps speeds and from saturday i m again getting 4mbps speeds. Even my friend confirmed this but we both live in different areas. Would it be a glitch? |
Which broadband is available in HSR Layout 1st Sector Bangalore Posted: 24 Nov 2013 12:01 PM PST I'm going to move to HSR Layout 1st Sector in the following week. I contacted Airtel and unfortunately they don't have network feasibility here. This absolutely surprises me to know that Airtel still don't have their network in one of the prime residential places of Bangalore. To be honest I searched all over the internet to know what all ISPs are available and there are not many. I heard of TTN network as most used broadband here in 1st Sector, but all over the internet its users are down voting and cursing it.
I hope this is my last resort to ask this question on broadband forum, if anyone is staying here in 1st Sector, do you know what all ISPs are available here? If you've heard of TTN Network, is it really that horrible as its users say?
I'm really internet starved and frustrated to my depths, this is my new home and they still don't have Airtel here. I can't stay alive on shitty Airtel 3G and expensive 4G anymore . Lord knows what the hell is taking so much time. |

Decent GFX card + Motherboard + Processor Posted: 24 Nov 2013 10:40 AM PST My GFX card crashed and I've been using my laptop since last 6 months. I guess its time to switch back to PC.
I've AMD M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 motherboard and AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black edition processor.
1. Should I change my existing processor and switch to Intel? If yes, how much will I fetch if I sell my mobo + processor?
2. Which GFX card should I go for? Budget 7-9k.
I don't play a lot of games, mainly for PS and other video editing tools.
I'm considering Sapphire ATI HD 7770,

Posted: 24 Nov 2013 10:16 AM PST I've seen many posts on internet about hacking BSNL internet speed, I always ignore them. But is it really possible to bypass the FUP limit of BSNL? Maybe not possible in Broadband but is it possible in recharge plans? I am having a USB with BSNL sim, If bypassing FUP is possible then I will change to USB.If that will be possible then everyone will be able to enjoy the full speed, so seems to be fake
Don't forget to tell the trick if possible |

Advice on Roaming of MTNL 3g sim in bsnl pune Posted: 24 Nov 2013 08:51 AM PST Hi IBF users,
I am moving to a place where we do not have broadband internet connection so I am planning to buy a mtnl 3g sim from my hometown (Delhi) and use it in BSNL Pune network (hinjewadi area)
Please help for following queries 1) will there be data roaming charges for mtnl delhi sim?(mtnl mumbai says 2p/10kb , mtnl delhi says no) 2) will there be speed reductions? 3) Do i need to do special settings/configuration to use it in Pune (i have got a Huawei E3121 for the sim) 4) any idea if BSNL is reliable in Hinjewadi area...in Phase 1 near Hinjewadi chwk 5) any problems if i recharge with unlimited plan [read somewhere that mtnl mumbai unlimited plans are available only in Mumbai and not in other places and speeds only of 2g and not 3g for interstate roaming
Sincere suggestions from IBF veterans appreciated
Thanks |
Public advisory issued in general interest of every BSNL user Posted: 24 Nov 2013 08:44 AM PST PUBLIC ADVISORY ISSUED IN GENERAL INTEREST OF EVERY BSNL USER
1 Reserve your daytime internet activity to web browsing i.e dont do any heavy downloading like movies, videos etc and try to limit your usage within 2 GB. if possible,* .
You may want to reserve** some last left usage for emergencies like rail reservations, quick research for tomorrows test or the latest Lady Gaga video etc
2 Likewise Facebook, Skype and other SM sites consume lot of bandwidth so beware when socializing
3 Sometimes after logging into your Selfcare a/c, don't PANIC if you see : a. incorrect usage b. inflated bill etc. c. increased day limit
this only means we are striving hard to provide better Customer Service by constantly experimenting and meddling with our resources***
4 Never trust our guy at Customer Care *# to whatever he says
5 Don't pester our hard working*^ employees by frequently visiting them in their offices in their lunch time and nagging them about your small problems.
Their time is too valuable to be wasted on a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ *^^ customer . Stick to basics and use ur COMMONsense
6 The plan BBG FN600 combo night plan has been reported to to induce widescale Insomnia*! amongst its users . Bsnl cannot be held liable for ur sleep cycles.
7 For change in plans, migration, query. complaints please apply through a proper channel. Do not use selfcare for these purposes and be sure to confirm the charges of doing so, with us personally (seriously guys a personal approach is sometimes good)
8 Suggestions for improvement and efficiency would not be tolerated at any cost
