Sylvester Stallone Confirms Nicolas Cage for THE EXPENDABLES 3; Still Wants Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, and Mickey Rourke

“We are preparing the film with the same passion and commitment as the previous two. We have confirmed Nicolas Cage, a master actor who gives a veneer intellectual group. Hopefully we can realize to Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Mickey Rourke. That is the great mission of the producer. We will continue with the same narrative scheme, the agility and the frenzy, which are inherent to the saga.”

Sylvester Stallone Confirms Nicolas Cage for THE EXPENDABLES 3 | Collider

Update: Deadline reports that Stallone has denied the confirmation of Cage for the third film. Apparently, these comments were made during Stallone’s European tour of the press junkets for Expendables 2 this past summer. The response came from a question of who he would like to see in a future installment, but again, he denies the confirmation of Cage.

Need help with Beetel 450TC2 modem

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 11:06 AM PDT

I recently got Beetel 450TC2 wifi-modem with my Airtel internet connection. I can connect to internet via lan wire but they have implemented enterprise wifi security for wireless connectivity. Basically, one has to register his/her devices via their website and only then he/she shall be able to connect to internet. Also it has a limit of only 4 devices via wifi as websites registers MAC of each device. If one has to add a new device he has to de-register previous device. In short it is "crap worthy".

I tried to change the wifi authentication mode by login into the modem via 192.168.1.1 but it is locked (uneditable). Is there a custom firmware/ open source firmware/ other tricks that can be used to remove this bullshit authentication mode? Only in India can a company (Read Airtel) sell you broadband at a high cost as well as restrict it usage.

Software Piracy

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 10:36 AM PDT

Hello!

We all know that engaging in software piracy is a criminal offence. But it gets worse when a group of people come unannounced to your office and seize all your supposedly unlicensed software, without letting you take a backup of any data. They also ask for an exorbitant settlement figure. http://bit.ly/19fte1Y

BSNL Combo 600 Plan Free usage reduced to 750 MB? (August 2013)

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 10:32 AM PDT

Just logged in to portal to check my usage details for BBG-FN-HOME-600-COMBO-PLUS-MONTHLY_R plan (2.5 GB day usage and night unlimited) and was shocked to see that the free

usage instead of showing as 2.5 GB is showing as 750 MB!!! I have used about 970 MB till now so the charged usage is showing as 220 MB!

Very shocked and disappointed if BSNL has taken this step which is beyond belief. After waiting for many years, instead of getting a raise in

the free usage, it has been reduced to more than one third! If other people are using this plan kindly check your portal account to see if there also it is showing 750 MB? If yes then post here and if it is still 2.5 GB then I suppose there must be some issue with the site. Hope it is still 2.5 GB because 750 MB is a joke! Also people might end up getting huge bills this month if they don't know this. Quite shocked by BSNL's shamelessness as they once again made such a huge change without informing the users!

Airtel SCAM Exposed ! Extorting Money during Cancellation

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 10:20 AM PDT

Hi,

I have been using the Airtel Broadband connection (#080-40913933) since January 2011. My plan was 1200 /- (8 Mbps) and my billing cycle was 11th to 10th of next month.
On 12-May-2013, I shifted from Koramangala to Bannerghatta road and contacted the apartment agent (Shibu) for transferring my existing connection. He suggested, Sir, do NOT transfer your connection, because it may take a week time, instead please take a new connection and cancel the existing one [may be for his own benefit, his target for that month would be achieved]. So I paid 500/- for new connection (out of which 250/- is refundable according to Shibu) and got my new connection (080-41288896) activated on 14-May. Also I had contacted the Customer Care and raised request for cancellation and got the request id. As expected, got a call from retention department and I patiently explained them the scenario and they said ok, it will be taken care of. (By the way, for bill cycle  11-Apr-2013 to 11-May-2013, I received the bill for my old number, which I paid immediately to speed up the process)

And the story begins now !
In June I got a bill of 1348/- (period: 11-May-2013 to 11-Jun-2013) for my old number and another bill of 1223/- (period: 14-May-2013 to 11-Jun-2013) for my new number. I paid the bill of 1223/- as this is the new connection that I am using now. Contacted the customer care (agent)...
Me: I raised a cancellation request last month for my old connection and have not used it since 11-May-2013, as I got a new connection to work with. How come its not yet processed and still I am getting bill?
Agent: Do you have the cancellation request?
Me: Yes, here it is <request_no>
and Voila...
Agent: This is NOT a valid request id. It starts with 4 and our current running number starts with 3.
I was like WHAT !!!!
Me: Can you change the first number and check.
He did that (with several permutations and combinations, but no result)
Agent: Sir, you have to raise another request.
And a NEW request was raised.

July-2013,
I got another bill of 2015/- for my old connection and 1405/- for my new connection. Being the active connection I paid 1405/-, again contacted the Customer Care, explained them the overall story, this time I was quite pissed off. Agent replied, ok sir, we shall take care of this.
Now, last week I got a call from so called Collection Dept about the payment of 2015. I told them I can not pay for two bills. The (new) one I am supposed to pay is already up to date and for other (old) one, the request was raised 2 and half months back and this is not my fault. They said OK and they will speak to Backend team to rectify the issue.
Yesterday I got the LAST REMINDER email from Airtel, which says about court/forum and legal proceedings, blah blah blah, if you do not pay your current outstanding !!!
Perplexed....Shocked !!

I heard lot of complaints on this (almost all the forums have similar complaints registered), that as long as you are using their service, they are OK (only thing is Airtel will keep on increasing your tariff at the eleventh hour). But the moment you cancel your connection, Airtel will try to extort as much as money as they can. Its like (loot lo, last minute mein). People, out of fear pay the amount to get rid of this and Airtel takes the undue advantage of looting their customers. I have forwarded my complain to my current and previous company HR and other friends in my Network so as to not to entertain Airtel any more. And today I have raised another cancellation request for my 3 months old new connection (080-41288896).

Thanks to Artel...

Now, I tell you what will happen? A spam mail like below wil lbe sent by Airtel:
This is to inform you that your concern listed on 13 Aug 2013 has been noted and our team is working on a resolution. At the outset, we apologize for the inconvenience faced by you. We will get in touch with you for further details of your concern as the need arises.

For any queries you may have you can also get in touch with us at www.airtel.in/airtelpresence

And I shall keep getting calls from Customer Service..

It's there that a listing has popped up claiming that BlackBerry's as-yet unannounced Z30 will support Qi wireless charging. The listing goes on to say that the smartphone will pack a medium power receiver, capable of pulling 120 watts from a charger, which should be enough to juice that (rumored) 2,800mAh battery in short order.

Why 9"? - 7" Tablets have been the most popular screen size selling in the market. However, all those using it wish that the screen was bigger to get the best use of the tablet and make it more useful for everyone whether doing work or watching movies or playing games or even browsing the net. Common Screen sizes available bigger than 7" are 9.7" and 10.1". However these size screen cost are much higher as compared to 7". 9" screen is introduced in between to offer very high value to the user at much more affordable cost. i9018 iBall Slide is being introduced for below Rs 10000 mark which is a very good and appealing offering for a 9" tablet in this high USD to rupee scenario. Apart from being the 1st Dual core processor based Tablet in 9" Screen size, it also happens to be with HD screen (1024x600) to give sharper and clearer picture on the Big screen and Mali 400 GPU is bound to give superb graphic processing to give seamless and smooth video, gaming and graphics. This means that the Slide i9018's 1GB RAM internal memoryand 8GB big built in flash would have a fast, efficient processor to work with, and with the microSD slot expandable up to 32 GB, there's no looking back for app lovers.

Wired Broadband in Millennium Tower, Sector 9, Sanpada, Navi Mumbai

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 09:26 AM PDT

Hi everyone,

We are living in a rented apartment in Millennium Tower, Sector 9, Sanpada, Navi Mumbai. Our requirement is high speed wired broadband (Total of 8 mbps atleast) and low ping. We are even willing to take upto 3 different broadband connections and even from different ISPs. This is because the flat has two floors and sharing a single net connection via wifi would be difficult as well as adversely impact the ping for the guys who are playing online games. Also, different isp means having backups is one net suffers downtime.

Till now only Airtel has confirmed their presence in my building but their FUP limit is ridiculous. We are willing to pay upto Rs 3000 p.m.

We have contacted a local cable operator by the name of "Om star" has told us that their connection is not available in our area.

I have also contacted Reliance about their presence in my area but they haven't reverted anything till now. Also, I am bit doubtful about their service after reading about user experiences, complaining about high ping and frequent disconnection.

Please suggest a broadband connection/ISP provided which operate in this area as I am new to this city/area.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Hyperloop from Elon Musk

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 08:50 AM PDT

The Hyperloop (or something similar) is, in my opinion, the right solution for the specific case of high traffic city pairs that are less than about 1500 km or 900 miles apart. Around that inflection point, I suspect that supersonic air travel ends up being faster and cheaper. With a high enough altitude and the right geometry, the sonic boom noise on the ground would be no louder than current airliners, so that isn't a showstopper. Also, a quiet supersonic plane immediately solves every long distance city pair without the need for a vast new worldwide infrastructure.

However, for a sub several hundred mile journey, having a supersonic plane is rather pointless, as you would spend almost all your time slowly ascending and descending and very little time at cruise speed. In order to go fast, you need to be at high altitude where the air density drops exponentially, as air at sea level becomes as thick as molasses (not literally, but you get the picture) as you approach sonic velocity.

Tata DOCOMO INTERNET APN does not work most of the times

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 08:10 AM PDT

Hi, since last month I've been using internet booster card on my android mobile with TATA DOCOMO number. When I put the sim first time in the mobile I received three APN settings, one for browsing their portal which is Tata Docomo Dive In, one for MMS and one for all other activities which is Tata Docomo Internet. But most of the time my mobile is not able to connect to the Tata Docomo Internet APN which is for general propose, but some times when it does connects i get good speed and able to access internet normally. But I can connect to the other APN Tata Docomo Dive In without a problem which is for accessing their portal but with Tata Docomo Dive In setting I'm not able to access internet through any apps like facebook, opera mini, maps and etc. I tried calling customer care but it turned out to be no use :( I think Docomo is trying to cheat people by offering cheap net plans which is of no use... Any solutions??? Or anyone else facing such problem?

Geting a New FTTH Connection ! Need HELP ..

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 07:32 AM PDT

Hello , Everyone

As we all know Ping acts a major Role while Playing some Multiplayer and that also if its Fps title .
I live in Patna.Bihar ..

Had BSNL UL 1425 Plan , and it gave me about 200ms in Singapore Servers [Game: Battlefield 3 Multiplayer]
Still managable , was all going good , had to Shift to another Location , New Flat . thats why .
Had Airtel and Aircel 3G SimCards , which worked absolutely great in Previous Location ,
but the maximum tower i get here is like 1and 1/2 and Speed maximum of 25KBps :-(
Now can't even Play any games , while my Team needs me the most at Present.

FTTH was always in Mind , now its the Right time i choose that Connection . I have somehow managed and saved 3k Pocket money ,
Too Confused about that Installation Charges and Rest Tax and Stuff..

On BSNL Website Enterprise Section i saw something like ,
Installation Charges = 500 + Security Deposit = 1000 (refundable) + Advance Pay of the Plan ,
I gonna take the 2999/- one , so alltogether its like 1500 + your BB Plan Charges ,
but the BSNL Commercial Officer said its 2400 + your Plan .. why so ? do they take Fibre Wire Charges aswell , I am new to all this ,

So someone Already Owning the FTTH , Please Guide me through the Starting Money Taken and Stuff that one needs to know, while taking FTTH Connection ..

Thanks for Reading the Whole Story , had to make it that way , so that , you feel my pain , A Gamers Pain :pleasantry:

Want to port out of Tata Docomo

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 07:11 AM PDT

I have been using Tata Docomo for 2 of my numbers for a while now. The main reason I ported to Tata Docomo when I did, was the fact that my numbers are Mumbai circle and I was relocating to Pune for sometime. The home tariff in MH&Goa was a big plus. But a few months later I started using smartphones for both numbers. I find that Tata Docomo gprs connectivity is very poor with frequent disconnection. So now I want to port to some other operator who has decent data connectivity. Don't need great speed or large amount of data. Main use is whatsapp, but recently started using for skype too. One more thing; some months ago I started using the 59 pack for ISD calls to Canada at 1ps/sec. Was going well for a while until suddenly I got charged a hefty sum for a call. I then realized that the pack has a 450 minute limit which is not told when you recharge. Now the worst part about this pack is that the status of use does not appear in any balance request response or service message, leaving you guessing. A few weeks back, I ended up losing Rs 460 balance in a day because of this. So I have decided to say goodbye to TD and switch. The search is on for my new operator.

freedom 1295 and 1395

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 07:04 AM PDT

i'm currently on tata's 512 kbps plan and i'm tired of high pings though the customer care service is excellent...net hardly goes down....but its too costly...
i'm a gamer so need a high speed internet...

i was thinking to switch to mtnl's freedom 1295 or 1395 plan ...speeds are amazing and in my budget...

can anyone give a few reviews about these plans?

does mtnl offer static ip with these plans or i'll have to get it separately ?

does mtnl block any websites or throttle anything?

and how are the pings that mtnl offers?

and i'm aware that mtnl's customer care is pathetic ...

Suggest a ISP in Vakola, Mumbai

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 06:46 AM PDT

I've recently moved to Mumbai from Kolkata where I had awesome campus internet. I am looking for a reliable ISP providing 2 or 4 Mbps. I contacted Airtel, but they don't have connectivity in our building (maybe a nice way of saying we don't want new customers). Any suggestions?

I use up ~100GB a month, mainly video streaming on iPad and downloads on laptop.

Unfair billing practice of Idea cellular

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 06:26 AM PDT

Since 1999 I have used various service providers, recently switched to idea post paid.

I have opted for 1 GB GPRS package for Rs 125/-. By default idea provided me a credit limit of Rs 1850/-

To my surprise I got call from customer care to make interim payment to avoid termination of outgoing calls as I am about to cross the credit limit.

I have used the calls for maximum of Rs.20/- and my GPRS usage as on today is 135 MB. Then I realized that idea have a practice of calculating the GPRS usage on each kb I use regardless of my usage is less than 20% of allowed 1 GB. The answer I received was this interim payment will be adjusted in next bill.

Who on the world will have such unethical practice to get undeserved money from customer.

Does it means for using 1 GB i need to have to have Rs 3000/- interim payment when my final GPRS usage charges will be less than Rs 125?

Guys advise me what we have to do to stop this unethical practice?

Pathetic experience of porting to Idea

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 06:19 AM PDT

I took two corporate connection to portout from Vodafone to Idea as my building was having coverage problem and after repeated complaint vodafone was not showing any progress on resolving netowkr coverage issue. So I started testing all other network like Airtel, Docomo, Aircel and Idea, I was found that Idea had best coverage for my building.

So I completed all formalities to port in to Idea and waited till 7th day and kept checking porting status at mnpindia.in, but even on 7th day I never received any SMS to intimate the time of porting. I tried calling Idea MNP Toll free number almost 10 time through out the day but you will never get customer rep to speak to you, they will first play the stupid music " idea hai .......... etc " and then you will be told that all execs are busy and dial 12345 to speak to Idea customer care, wtf how can new customer who dont have idea connection can dial 12345.

And then at 11.00PM, our both Vodafone SIM started giving SIM registration failed so I inserted Idea SIM, and the horror started now............ Idea SIM also giving registration failed message. I thought, it waste of time and decided to sleep. In the morning, SIM were active but now I was unable to make any call or receive call. When I was dialing any number even their customer care, I was getting that you dont have this service available, contact customer care and when I tried to dial from other number to these number, "services to the number are on hold."

Here again, I tried to contact the customer care by checking the Idea web site, after trying for multiple times, some how I got connected to customer care but these morons have no idea about the MNP. They kept telling the process to port out, I spoke to almost 10 different people but every body was telling me some thing or other thing but they were not able to understand my problem. The most pathetic thing was these people cant speak English and I cant understand Telugu, one hour gone and my patience was running thin.

Then I decided to speak to guy who sits in my office to know what the hell is going on... I went to the office and asked for him, guy was not available and had to wait for him. Somehow I met after lunch and told the entire ordeal, he asked two questions only, do you have bars on your phone and have you dialed "59059" for self address verification?

and I was like what the helllllllllllllllllllll....................... why have you not written this on your MNP Kit or on your web site that you need to dial 59059 for self verification to activate the POST PAID number even after they have done physical verification of my residence and office. I was literally out of control for that minute and kept shouting on him, That idea guy said sorry for many times but end of story is that it took only 2 minutes for both number to activate but these morons could have listed the process on thier web site or MNP kit but I was unable to locate any such any where.

After 90 days, I will make sure to go back to Vodafone if they improve the signals as they promised ................ now I understand why Idea has been always trading below 150 Rs for last 5 years. Companies like this will never grow, and we can see the Airtel now as well who is also loosing on prices. Just having good infrastructure and good advertisement cant keep you profitable but you need to serve your customer well also.

Windows 8.1 (Windows Blue) Updates

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 05:58 AM PDT

What to Expect (And What We Want) From Windows Blue

More tile sizes: If Windows Phone can support three tile sizes (small, medium and large), then Windows 8 should absolutely support them, too. The tiles are much larger on Windows 8, so smaller sizes would be easy to tap with a fat finger. It will also make for a more personalized Start Screen, which the Windows 8 Modern UI is all about.

Updated Mail: The Windows 8 Mail app needs some extra power. Simplicity is great, but some basic additions would help it be a more useful tool. Microsoft should add support for POP3 accounts and incorporate features available in Outlook.com like drag and drop. A report from ZDNet suggests that this might come prior to the Windows Blue update.

Ability to use multiple browsers in Modern UI: This is a small request, but it addresses what can become a major annoyance in Windows 8 if you ever use more than one browser. Right now, even if a browser is available as a Windows 8 app, it will only work in the Modern UI environment if it is set as your default browser. If it's not your default browser, then it will open in the desktop. That goes for the built-in IE10 browser and other offerings like Google Chrome.

Boot to desktop: This is one of the most common Windows 8 demands, especially for business users. It should definitely be an option for Windows 8 Pro users, who do most of their work in the desktop environment. It's thoughtful and will make a large number of users happy without much work. But it should absolutely not be an option for Windows RT, where the opposite should be true.

Make it possible to manage everything in Modern UI: Alternatively, if you want to stay in the Modern UI 100 percent of the time, Microsoft should let you stay there 100 percent of the time. Especially since the Modern UI is the future of Windows. Microsoft should have the Task Manager, Windows Explorer and Control Panel available as Modern UI apps. You should be able to change your screen resolution and manage your files without being forced to the desktop.

My experience with Tikona

Posted: 13 Aug 2013 05:11 AM PDT

Have been reading lots of negative reviews about Tikona lately... And wanted to share my experience regarding their services. I've been using Tikona for around one and a half year now, and it been quite a pleasant experience... I am not saying that don't have any issues or problems, but which broadband service doesn't? They have been providing me with the promised speed. Apart from a few downtimes initially, that is when I took Tikona, their connection has been quite reliable. Their customer service, I observed, have improved quite a bit since I first subscribed to them. Not the cheapest but, you surely get what you pay for. Attached is the screenshot of the speed test of my connection.

The goal of this Kickstarter project is to make GNUstep work seamlessly with all of the platforms it currently runs on and to complete the necessary work to make it fully compatible with, at least, the version of the Cocoa APIs available on 10.6.

We also need to refine our current development tools to bring them more up to par with what is on Mac OS X to give developers a chance to build applications not only on Mac OS X using Objective-C, but to all platforms.   Additionally, GNUstep provides an avenue for developers who have invested their time and money in developing Cocoa based applications to easily bring their apps to other platforms with a simple recompile.

Samsung Hennessy

Now, we're seeing a so-called Samsung Hennessy (SCH-W789), another dual-screen clamshell model with 320 x 480 resolution on both of its 3.27-inch screens, a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU, 5-megapixel camera, dual-sim support and, yes, "Luxury Gold" color trim option.
