Reservation on Delhi Metro‽

Posted: 01 Oct 2012 01:13 PM PDT

well reservation is fine when you have enough trains to cater to the large number of people who are using your services.

metros are already jam packed. reserving coaches for women which are usually half empty while the folks in other coaches are jam packed and cannot even breathe properly? insane.

you are already short on coach space for the growing population. focus on solving that problem. if the coaches are not chocked, and there is space for everyone, people would spread out evenly. and there would be no problem with eve teasing.

this is basically a shortcut of a step that has been taken. since we do not have enough space for people to travel comfortably in metro... just reserve a coach for women so that they are not harassed by men in the general coaches.

saves you the hassle of looking at the larger picture.

MTNL (Mumbai) changed IP refresh interval from 6 hours to 10 hours??

Posted: 01 Oct 2012 01:05 PM PDT

I just checked my Sept 2012 Usage and it shows most sessions with a Session Time of 10:00 hrs instead of the usual 06:00 hrs. The others are random disconnects (which have been on the high, of late). Have any of you noticed that too? Sounds like good news!

Also, any idea what areas the fibre-optic cables have been installed? Those 10 GB speeds look so tempting!

It is a bit tricky but cut down a microSIM to a nanoSIM. had to get rid of all plastic so it is basically on the chip left.

Also wasted 3-4 sims before i got it working

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite

This is remarkable especially in terms of e-Ink displays. Ever since Sept. 6, I have been reading almost every reviews of this device. Strictly for reading purposes, I have been going back & forth many times from books to iPad. But I think with this kindle, I will finally put the physical books aside.

Provides up to 8 weeks of reading, half an hour per day with wireless off and constant light usage in a single charge. I think that's awesome. e-Ink is a proven technology advised especially for reading. Specifically in reading, the new iPad's retina display falls short to e-Ink paperwhite display.

Amazon does have one of the largest collection of books in kindle bookstore. They have launched the last year's fourth generation models in India recently. I'm eagerly waiting for paperwhite release in India.
