I believe in North India where the temp in summers consistently Hits 45 degrees it's better to go with general air conditioners. They have excellent cooling and extremely reliable the only downside is non existent service network from the company. if you need quality with great service daikin is the way forward. They are very silent and cools very quickly.

I'm using a Sharp window in my Delhi home. it's a very decent product too.

BSNL slashes 3G tariffs

The recent 3G tariff war has witnessed involvement of almost all telecom operator in making 3G service more affordable in India. This time, its State-run telecom operator BSNL who is all set to reduce its 3G data rates. BSNL has added new prepaid 3G Data pack of Rs.151 with 7 days validity offering 1000 MB free data usage. BSNL has also rationalized 3G prepaid data vouchers and postpaid data plans which will be effective from this 1st June 2012. BSNL 3G Data coupon of Rs.25 (validity 3 days) will now offer 100 MB data usage compared to earlier 50 MB. BSNL 3G Data Coupon of Rs.50 has been made more attractive by increasing free data usage from 100 MB to 200 MB ; and validity from 7 days to 15 days. Similarly, BSNL 3G Data Coupon of Rs.100 will allow free data usage of 300 MB instead of 225 MB; and validity increased from 15 days to 30 days. Postpaid 3G customers can get Rs.100 plan at Rs.90 p.m.

As promotional offer for 90 days, BSNL will offer 25% extra bundled free usage in selected Data plan or Voucher. The 3G 300 and 3G 500 data vouchers will get extra 25% data usage during promotion period i.e. 1250 MB and 2500 MB respectively. The MRP of these 3G vouchers also has been reduced to Rs.250 and Rs.450 respectively. These two 3G plans are also available to postpaid customers at fixed monthly cost of Rs.220 and Rs.400 respectively. The additional usage charges beyond free data usage limit for BSNL 2G and BSNL 3G prepaid data plan/voucher and data usage charges for prepaid voice plans revised from 4p per 10kb to 2p per 10 kb. BSNL has also decided to withdraw existing 3G vouchers of Rs.10 and Rs.200.

So now, I have new Dish, new STB, new LNB, new cable and finally a new VC card. Need to still pay the Rs. 400. Apart from the money, the amount of headache and numerous technicians (duffers) that I had to endure was priceless (to use a term from a credit card ad campaign).

Hoping that my story might benefit someone someday.

Also, let us all date the traceroutes when we do them. Traceroutes can vary a lot depending on the time of day; so a traceroute with a date and time is more useful than a traceroute without one.

just finished watching the episode. one thing i had like to point out. the topic of generic medicine. they fail to talk about the concept of patents and the money spent on R&D by the pharma companies.

you make it sound like that the pharma companies are making shit load of money by selling medicine at absurd prices. but in real world... the money earned from these medicines is used to fund development of new medicines.

generic medicines are possible here in india probably because of the weak patent laws which i guess is a good thing.

well..........u are sort of right in a sense , but who are we to make a call what should dominos do...........its their policy .

in my case i dont live in delhi or gurgaon............so there is less hassles, traffic ,or any other issues for them to deliver at my place easily......

neither i live in a building..........i live in my home ,main road, ground floor, no issues for them.

5 minutes delay i have no issues...........but 15-20 minutes is too much for me. i cant resist hunger:tongue_2:

moreover i know , the guy is not penalized for the delay..........company bears it..........so i prefer deducting the charges. and i have no regrets or no shame in admitting. since i know company sells pizza at a huge premium, and delivery boys are not getting penalized, i prefer that way.

What is the point in doubling your speeds when 1. You can still only use 150 GB, 2. They have blocked 90 percent of video streaming sites. You should have asked them what do you do with such speeds when they have blocked most content out there.

And I dont know why Airtel do this. They release their new plans with so much secrecy. Every bloody time !!!

I have UMG 1831 dongle which I used with BSNL microsim for unlimited 3G during 2011.
Now my question is "Can Aircel's 3G plan (997 Rs,10GB Unlimited) be used with aircel dongle only or we can use any other unlocked dongles like UMG 1831?"
if anyone is using it with other than aircel's dongle then please let me know.
Is Aircel 3G available in Hubli, Karnataka?

hi guys! i was wondering if someone can recommend a good internet connection, i live in a rural part of lucknow. i was hoping to get a broadband connection or a wireless connection of up-to 2mbps, minimum of 500kbps, and a download limit of at-least 10GB i currently have a bsnl hardline phone connection. i am not from india so i dont know much about the ISP's here. i am here on vacation and am looking for internet for 2 months. I too have the same doubts.

It seems MDA is purposely delaying it for reasons best known to him, otherwise for RIL it is no big deal to launch Pan-india in 2 yrs.

in 2001 they started laying fiber/towers across india. in 2003 they started CDMA on a Pan-india Basis.

Heck if 10 yrs ago when india was not technologically matured,they accomplish the task on a much bigger, larger scale then what's stopping them now??
