Posted: 09 Apr 2012 01:11 PM PDT Quote: Do you know that mail you 'delete' from your GMail account does not necessarily get deleted? Google themselves doesn't guarantee that it will be deleted. The reason they give is technical complexity. Hardly believable for an incredibly technicallly competent company like them. Gmail and privacy If you search for someones name on Google Images you might get his or her image. But you won't get any email by search a persons on mail search, I don't know if you would understand the point. But, there is a difference between how Facebook handles privacy matters and the way Gmail does. I admit that it could just be a psychological difference. |

Asianet Broadband ISP injecting Javascript ads Posted: 09 Apr 2012 12:08 PM PDT Asianet Dataline, a Cable TV/Internet provider in Kerala, has started Javascript ad injection with all web page requests. More details given here: Asianet(ISP) injecting javascript code(ads) in every webpage requested by the customer | Dipin Krishna On contacting customer care about this, they said that they are actually testing this ad service for displaying ads for all users! These ads turn up on all websites, including flipkart, icici internet banking and other pages! In-spite of letting them know that this is a huge security risk, they seem to think it is a new feature from their side! I have contacted the Nodal officer and appellate authority for a comment but am yet to hear back. |
