MTNL 3G unlimited plans finally! Posted: 08 Mar 2011 12:52 PM PST Quote: I connected my laptop via usb with Nokia E51 Dolphin 3G Jadoo. When I used Nokia PC Suite for connection, I get following speed Alternatively, when I used Nokia OVI, internet was not working at all, but it was connected. And yes, I have installed patch for usbser.sys from following location as mentioned in another thread: KB925681 - When you try to download a file from the Internet by using Internet Explorer, the download stops responding. As per MTNL customer care guy, monthly usage limit is of 200GB. After that normal rate of 1p/10KB will be charged from the main balance. Same charge will be applicable while roaming on BSNL as well as MTNL Mumbai. |

Shifting from Aircel to MTNL 3G in Delhi - Need Reviews, Coverage Details, Actual Customer Stories Posted: 08 Mar 2011 08:47 AM PST Thanks for the inputs. Yes, E51 has supports upto 3.6mbps, but for that one has to ENABLE "High Speed Packet Access" setting in tools. Now, E51 network indicator shows 3.5G instead of 3G(when connected) and I get download speeds upto 2mbps. The problem with the connection is that most of the times download speed gets stuck around 350kbps, even if E51 network indicator displays 3.5G. Ping is highly variable from 240ms to 1200ms. At night the connection is getting better :) |
Reliance Big TV DTH Connection / Brochure Pictures Attached Posted: 08 Mar 2011 08:29 AM PST Hello Friends, Finally my efforts got me a good result, i am going to give you a great news that my STB2 has been replaced (for FREE) with a hyundai STB3 today. Following are proof and pictures taken (you can see Star Cricket is today's NZ v/s PAK match). http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/4...altvpictur.jpg http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/6...italtvstb3.jpg http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/1...altvsoftwa.jpg I must tell you not just picture quality but AUDIO clarity is superior than STB2. After hearing voice on STB3, what i was getting on STB2 was just a sort of 1970 radio station voice!!! I was keeping my voice on 40 or 50 and i could hear properly but on this new STB3; at the level of just 5 or 6, it is damn powerful voice that i am getting out from that. WOW experience NOW. I am so happy and so much satisfied with RELIANCE that finally they got in action and gave me a solution without charging me any money even though my warranty expired 2 years ago. --- Anyway, logo is bigger and doesnt look good but still its better than having "BIG TV" in red. At least, i got from that big red symbol out of it. They can simply get rid of that blue background now and white font "RELIANCE" written is just good for them to go. I dont think that menu change has become any faster for now. Its still too slow. but overall i am happy that at least they came up with something. |

About Hayai Broadband on India Broadband Forum Posted: 08 Mar 2011 08:17 AM PST Quote: New set up always gives better and then rest of it depends upon the maintenance team. That is why, we have different different review of same ISP from different different place. This may not happen with hayai. Because I do not think their technology have any problem to do with cable cut or downtime due to power cut. It could be a permission issue which may take 1-2 days to solve if it is not solved. Hayai Lite is there...... Well, waiting to get it.... Hope after they may get all clearance and all formalities. |

Posted: 08 Mar 2011 05:18 AM PST Quote: I am using Airtel Broadband with Wi-Fi Roiter (ADSL) from last 2 years. Recently, I am facing problems with the signal strength of router. When I move from the room where router is installed to another room, the signal strength drops. The distance between two rooms is less than 6 meter. I called up the technical support and the guy who came to my place says this is fine and signal drops like this. He is not willing to replace the existing router with a new one and says he can replace my current router with old repaired router. Airtel confirmed that the router should work fine within 10 meters but signal strength drops after 4 meters. Is this normal? What are the options I have? I think buffalo infinity is a solution to your problem. Please help. |

Shifting from Reliance Infra to Tata Power in Mumbai Posted: 08 Mar 2011 04:11 AM PST Quote: boss, do u know that Tata has been the generator of power since last 100 years and it has the cheapest rates. ask the people who are the original TPC consumers. they get half bills than what Rinfra consumers pay. dont just blindly support Reliance coz its the biggest cheater when it comes to power supply in mumbai. and when u switch over to TPC - only the billing cycle and meter will be of Tata power. the power will be supplied by reliance and for that only they charge 10% extra + wheeling charges. |

BSNL 3G: Capped and trapped... Posted: 08 Mar 2011 12:23 AM PST Im seeing here tat ppl blast at officials in BSNL for not letting them know the situation cud get this bad. For those who cry foul that they don't get speeds all the time, are you nt aware of wat WL internet is capable of? I am sure u are the ones use it throughout the day for torrents and stuff (just like I do). We knew wat coud happen but when it happened, we cry foul and blame it on bsnl. I bought 3G just bcoz there was no BB wired conxn in my area and 3g was the only option.i took an Unlimited plan and I feel contented of wat I got form it. I m glad that bsnl withdrew the Unlimited pans forever. Why don't u guys compare Airtel, Vodafone etc who are involved in daylight robbery. My point here is, if u get standard speeds around 1mbps, feel satisfied with it . u don't get Unlimited 1.5mbps on a wired BB for this cost. If the reality is this, the only way to go about it is to be contented with wat we have. :readtherules: |

Posted: 07 Mar 2011 10:46 PM PST I am thinking of switching from Airtel to BSNL using Mobile Number Portability next month when I become eligible. Mainly pissed off with the 3g in Airtel. If you are travelling by bus it goes on and off switching to GPRS at times. Also when it regains 3G it doesn't always work. Anyway, question is, is it easy to get a BSNL sim card for Mobile Number Portability or do I have to wait for customer centers to get sim cards? How is the 3g connectivity across Bangalore? Is it stable enough and reliable? |

Apple iPad 2 with two cameras launched Posted: 07 Mar 2011 05:42 PM PST Quote: Thanks a lot rajadeep, anuj kathuria, Dannyk and nithinuku for helping me clear the doubts. My confusion is arising because i am buying iPad 2 WiFi + 3G from US where i "think" it is bundled either with verizon or AT&T. Is it locked or unlocked is what i wanted to know. If i buy 3G iPad in India - i know it will be unlocked. Your friend who is using bsnl 3G on ipad 1 - can you confirm with him where he bought it and if he had to jail break it (Thanks in advance) Its in case i am travelling in car and want to browse on iPad. One more doubt now :) I was wondering if joikuspot will help me here ?? (3G on my smart phone - make it a hotspot and connect iPad 2 to it - will it work ??) About the AT&T/verizon versions... Well itsmpretty clear u should buy the GSM version (aka the AT&T one)... Just remember to buy it from the Apple Store & not the AT&T stores... Also We have seen a recent price drop on the original Ipad in india plus the Apple India site has an Ipad2 video on its main page... This coupled with the fact that Apple is looking to sell 40mil+ units of Ipad2 given me the feeling we might see a blanket worldwide launch(including India) very soon... I think it might be better to w8 for an India launch... BTW Ipad2 might not have the facetime problem like the IPhone4 had coz its based on email rather than ur Phone no... Also I personally prefer the Ipad 3g version rather using a phone as a router coz it eats up the battery of the phone very fast & the battery life of my phone is rather imp to me:)... |
