When i saw the thread title, i thought that the Thread starter forgot to write "HD box + ESPN HD"........in between. Lolz!!

But i think as prasadji has mentioned, it could be a gimmick??

Coz i dont think they would even put such info on their sites......prospective customers who are not interested in World Cup, & who think of buying SD HD too, will think twice before falling here.......IT CAN BRING SO MUCH DISREPUTE TO THEM!!

Only a fool (i know its an insult for fool.....but cant write "Better" words coz we are a reputed Forum!!) Sales Manager will put such info on a site!!

maybe you live too far from the exchange. sometimes low voltage also causes loss of dsl link.

try disconnecting the 'phone out' line from the splitter(connect only the line in & adsl out), and check.


ensure that there is no telephone connected parallel to the splitter input.

Ok so I am finally thinking of going for DTH. Fed up of my cable operator charging 350Rs even when DTH packs are now very competitive.

I am in bit hurry to make decision as my cable connection will disconnect on March 1st. How much time does it generally take for delivery after booking?

I have made a table of comparison based on whatever information I could collect from DTH websites. So please let me know if I made any mistake in calculation OR there is better offer available?

MOST IMPORTANT: Let me know if I am missing any HIDDEN CHARGES?

I am not discarding any DTH provider, but I not inclined to following:
1) SUN - mostly because its likely to focus on south packs
2) Reliance - DONT trust! :D

My requirement are Hindi entertainment/movies and sports pack (ESS + ten sports)

I wud prefer MP4 (but not compulsory)

Does videocon and airtel both have good GUI/frontend/electronic program guide? Then I wud prefer one of them.

For Airtel, in terms and condition for the 4 month free offer, it states that:

I don't think that is the correct reason. DD sports broadcast the commonwealth games and both the SD and HD channels showed the same images at the same time. So whether it was the sports or the ads or the commentary show from the studios . . . both channels were broadcasting the same stuff at the same time.

I dont know why ESPN hd is ad free but I'll take it without complaining. The only downer is if you wanna watch a match analysis or a match preview you have to goto the SD channel. HD shows nothing but the match. Quite strange!

Today I got a new Photon+ connection & got the same device. I tested the speed and got 1.2Mbps in the afternoon. In the evening it is not going above 756Kbps. So I think the CDMA1X is not the theoretical limit of this device. HSIA probably stands for "High Speed Internet Access" device. Anyhow, do check your connection at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test so as to get a fair idea of your device's performance. I'm also not very happy with its speed. I was hoping to get at least 2Mbps downlink. I was using Airtel Broadband fixedline @2Mbps which I was going to discontinue in favor of Tata Photon+. Will evaluate it for some more time before deciding.

How to convert prepaid 3G number to a Postpaid number?

How can I change my postpaid plan, if I want to? should I goto BSNL CSC? or can be done via customer care?

How to findout 3G data usage(in Karnataka Circle) for postpaid number?

Do I need to give a separate request to activate national roaming for postpaid connections?

Call 2444111 and ask for consumer id and say that you need it to register in selfcare portal
they will give you a 10 digit number (use this number to register in selfcare portal), if use unique id , u will be blocked.


if already registered, try to log in.


if not possible to log in call 2444111 and inform them that you r not able login to selfcare portal.

Everything seems to be working normally to me. Try using their public DNS (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4) - It reduced my ping times to Google from 300 to 60 and it considerably fastens my browsing experience on all Google services. (except Youtube and the others)
