in my past days i am using bsnl broadband. and also using adsl router for netconnection. i am connecting internet through wifi adsl router. now i am not using bsnl broadband. now i am using beem broadband in hyderabad. that internet connection is directly to my laptop through rj45 cable. but i want to configure adsl router to my beem broadband because i want to connect internet through wifi. it is possible or not? if possible tell me the procedure.

Contact someone who can unlock your modem for other (also BSNL) sim. Migration from 2G to 3G is end so you cant move to 3G with this 2G connection. get a new 3G connection.

I had applied for Mobile Number Portability (from vodafone to tata docomo) on 3rd of February, 2011. My number is got ported on 9th February, 2011. I had inserted new tata docomo sim which I had already recieved. It is (till date) not working. I had enquired about same many times to nodal office (9028009028) with many nodal officer (Kishor, Aniket etc.). Nobody had given satifactory answer. Then I had visited nearby tata indicom outlet(Viman nagar, pune). They told me that the sim (8991037211020005510 2) on which they had activated my number (9823674847) is wrong and he had made request to start my number on above mentioned sim. After 3 hours I got call from nodal office that my number cannot be start on above mentioned sim and I have to bought new sim. I can't understand why should I suffer and spend money for mistake what tata docomo executives had made. Then he told me that he will arrange delivery of sim card at my place and he will get back to me in some time. He never call back.

I had committed for reebok wrist watch (after my number gets activated) by nodal officer (Rakesh Chincholkar) on 5th Feb, 2011 in written communication through mail (nodal.rom@tatadocmo.com, ref: M3529866). Once my number get activated I tried to contact him many times but he always avoided me. I had made request to arrange callback from rakesh (request no : 253288667) yesterday. They told within 24 hours he will get back to me (which got completed today 15:00 p.m. without any callback). Thenafter I had called at least five times to nodal office to get a chance to talk with rakesh. All executives (aniket, kishor and one lady) told me that within 1 hour they will get back to me. Actually they are trying to avoid me so once office time over (18:00 p.m.), I can't contact them and they don't need to attend me till at least monday. Sorry to say but they all are liars.

I had also made request to change my sim (request no : 253390989). My current status is my number is gets activated but I cannot make call either from tata docomo or from vodafone and that is also due to tata docomo's mistake. And nobody is ready to start or stop my services and even not ready to give explanation. That is ridiculous. So my question is :

1) When can I expect my number will get started (I mean when can I call)?
2) When will I get my assured Reebok wrist watch ?
3) Can I expect some demonstrable actions against these all involved nodal officer ?
4) Can I get some compensation due to inconvienience cause by non professional behaviour of your nodal officer ?

My humble request is that just listen all the conversation carefully then you will get idea how rude and non professional your nodal officers are.

I am a new BSNL user with Home 500 Combo Plan. I have seen a lot of methods in this form how to use it by settingup autorestart and shut down. Most of those posts are quite old. I wanted to check is it still required in BSNL to restart my PC at 2 am and then again at 8 am to avail the free usage coz I downloaded my first movie without that and in selfcare it is automatically showing as night usage only. I just used the FDM to start at 3 am till 7 am.

NO Fair Usage Policy on IN 2 cable as of now. hathway has a Fair Usage Policy. on 512 kbps the limit is 10 GB. i also have hathway. might change to In 2 Net from next month.

In 2 Net does not have modem like hathway. only one single wire directly to the PC.

4500 is v expensive for 512 Kbps. go for In 2 Cable they charge 552/- pm for 512 Kbps without Fair Usage Policy as of now.

Hathway charges 500 - 650 pm for 512 Kbps but with Fair Usage Policy of 10 GB

@shivam first question, why do you want to buy an iPhone 3G? Just because you want an iPhone or because you want an iPhone with all it's functionality? You see the iPhone 3G is at the end of it's life cycle. Starting with the next iOS version (iOS 4.3), Apple is not going to support the iPhone 3G. And with each newer version of the iOS requiring more resources (RAM) to run efficiently the iPhone 3G doesn't perform as well. I currently use one so I know. It's not unusable, but slow when compared to the 3GS or iPhone 4.

Now, if you do get one then you shouldn't be too worried. As of the last unlock solution released by the iPhone Dev Team, the iPhone 3G is unlocked for life. You can easily jailbreak & unlock it to use with any carrier worldwide. I have an iPhone 3G from AT&T that I have jailbroken & unlocked and use it with BSNL/Vodafone/Airtel in India.

Lastly, don't get conned by people who will charge you a lot of money to jailbreak/unlock an iPhone 3G for you. Doing it is a simple process with the tools from the IPhone Dev team. Anyone who is a little tech savvy can do it with a little patience. The people who are charging you are using the same FREE tools and duping you into paying money for what you can do yourself. Let me know if you ever need help.

I own Airtel which I have applied for porting to Reliance GSM.

I sms'd on 22nd Jan gor UPC immediately, so far so, good, Then applied with Reliance gsm in mumbai, on 23rd Jan Sunday, was given the SIM, Today on 11th of Feb, I am still with Airtel.

Now believe me, I didnt receive any call from Airtel to stay back, no sms from Airtel or reliance about any progress on porting. My UPC expired on 6th FEB, I am still waiting, as advised by rcom guys, as they say my application is under process.

Sent email to both customer care, one says its being processed, and other says My number has been retained as per my request.
Which means that Airtel is foul playing me about the retention story, whereas I have made no such request nor have I called customer care for the same and neither have receieved any such retention call from Airtel, Rcom GSM ppl are asking me to stay put and do nothing .

I also visited a gallery of reliance yesterday, where I saw a customer care guy told me the whole process is in doldrums, and all their application are showing in process.
Loos like someone does not reliance to get any customers.

Technical staff is a BIG idiot. I tell you by not even 1 but 2 continous incidents with me:
1st: I bought multiroom connection, the fool activated my each connection as individual standalone connection
what happened next: Solved (giving birth to second problem) in almost 20 days, many request numbers, many phone calls, reached nodal officer

2nd: When they converted to multiroom connection, i had almost 180 bucks in each account (In total 360 bucks). After conversion ZERO Balance in main account and transferred that balance to child connection which is TOTALLY UNUSABLE & DOES NOT COUNT.
what happened next: 7 Days passes. A long journey to go.............

I now have a Vodafone 1GB for rs.99 going pretty good so far..can watch all the sites and no additional charges..so good...but what took them so long..sigh..better late than never..

i work in an office in chandigarh.
a person was incharge to get leased line services from bsnl for our office. the deal wasnt finalised and now i will be finalizing the things. now im familiar with the basic internet speeds and stuff (a long time broadband user) .but im a complete layman when it comes to lease line.
i tried to learn some stuff . but need you ppl's help
so here it goes.
what i learnt from the person who handled the talks so far ( also a layman) .
he said the distance (apparently a factor in LL tarrif) is not an issue and the bsnl place from where we get line is near.
our budget is Rs. 4 lac per year
we might get 1mbps line. (the part which confused me :ishock: ) (i am YET to talk to the bsnl guy . )
bsnl only btw. (govt issues)

so here is where im confused . as far as i have studied

for 4 lac per year . hell! let alone only in Rs. 2 lac pear year . i will get whopping 155mbps lease line for our office. (am i right? plz see the link)

so am i missing something here? or ive gone to heaven ? and what about data capacity limits . why isnt there something like that in tarrif . or am i to assume in Lease line it is Unlimited.

Reliance has recently launched Netconnect Broadband+ in Allahabad (U.P.East)

I grabbed one on pre-paid plan today

while today whole evening there were road show kinda activity in the city, lots of cars, bikes, guys with banners, flags etc to promote the ever waited solution.

Initially the speed was 300-350kbps, I was able to call Some senior sales manager who re-directed me to a technical person.
while i was prepared for getting crap answers (have become used to with bsnl) but to my pleasant surprise the guy was aware of the situation and said I am already working on the issue along the team, which is due to expanding to more areas in the city, he gave me a few hours ETA, but a hour or two passed and i re-connected it.

Guess what, it looked like the device was viagra powered now :clap:


I'll be using it as back-up connectivity cause BSNL cannot be trusted, 3G sucks and now bsnl wired broadband goes dead if there's a power failure for more than 2 hours at any time period. Seems the sarkari guys are now even selling the diesel from genset and only allow battery bank to run the tower.

A disaster which BSNL caused today in our family was when my brother-in-law got disconnected from internet while he was on a skype interview with his future employer and the stupid tower battery bank gave up after approx 120 mins of power back up and seems genset was not run, He was asked to wait for a week for next interview, which I am sure is not very promising.
I never felt so bad in last 10 years of my internet life, I was so helpless, wired broadband was off, 3G was not even to show google.com
Airtel/voda/idea were not able to serve skype based call cause they still have only edge service and not 3G, what a life.

Lets Hope Reliance doesn't do this kinda stuff on broadband plan which has come to our town after years of wait.
one thing I've experienced with reliance when using my blackberry tethered modem, Internet worked always(although on 1x speed) even when there was 36 hours of power failure, so I expect same would be applicable to broadband+ equipment too.
