why did hayai broadband chose India? Posted: 07 Feb 2011 11:06 AM PST It is not about nationality of the person. It is about the poor india internet infrastructure which mg wants to upgrade. Mg is just taking advantage of replacing old infrastructure of india which was not upgraded before whereas in other country, they are upgraded recently or already taken in planning by their telecom companies. According to mg, infrastructure are capable of transmitting data at the rate of 1gbps in south korea, japan. Even they are planning to serve internet speed up to 1gbps to each user at affordable price. I am not telling that this only hayai can do. We have big players like reliance, airtel, tata. They can upgrade but they have taken this step because they made up their mind wrongly. They have realized that customers do not need of high speed internet. Customers are satisfied with 256 kbps. I have seen lots of people who are happy with that speed. Those people do not want to spend money on internet. That's why local cheap wireless companies come into existence. This is all because of Facebook, yahoo and other social sites which do not require high speed & people always remain busy only these websites. But recently reliance spend $1bn on LTE. According to reliance, it will start by end of this year. According to me, we should appreciate mg to launch hayai india as soon as possible. After launching it, hayai will make competition in indian market. It will force to rest of company to upgrade their network and provide better service than each others. & we know it is not possible to do business in india. Company should give bribe to get license. Because in india, corruption becomes tradition. Mgcarley looks very hopeful to get complete permission to start his project. I hope he can start but I think he should give bribe in security clearance. Then and then he will succeed. If he denies, it may get delay. There is no business exist without profit or loss. |

Airtel Broadband Throttling/Shaping BitTorrent Traffic: Report Posted: 07 Feb 2011 10:53 AM PST Quote: I dont think you quite understood what I said, I did say that the protocol is overcautious and indeed your non-p2p traffic on these incoming ports will be throttled too. I also explicitly mentioned that the algorithm depends on characterization of p2p protocols not actually identifying the protocol identity. You are rephrasing what I just explained except that you are unwilling to believe that this throttling does happen (where are you are provably wrong). Again, deep packet inspection (DPI) of cleartext traffic is not illegal and is never going to be, in many cases it is required (for various security implications). Please dont mix VPNs into the issue, first understand what the issue is. VPNs can bypass throttling (if encrypted). And no, not all VPNs encrypt using 2048bit ciphers, get your facts right, VPNs are technically not even required encrypt your data, VPN is a technology that has many variants and implementations. IMPORTANT: I'd like to reinforce that even though VPNs can get past throttling if encrypted, you should think very hard about it. 1) Most VPNs bypass all of you network security features and any access control, be very very careful. 2) You no longer have any expectation of privacy, in fact you made yourself more vulnerable. 3) Many VPNs plug into your network adapter and run at escalated privileges (some even run in kernel mode in linux). Unless you know exactly what you are doing, dont run potentially buggy/malicious software. 4) you are trusting a remote third party by using a VPN 5) you may be paying for it but its not above its local jurisdiction. 6) if free solutions are ok for you, good for you, but in general they are pretty poor in service. Your "port forwarding" rattle is as irrelevant as it gets. I think you know a bit about networks, think about it, you'll know why. ---------- Post added at 01:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:55 PM ---------- There are legal issues when you get into something like a seedbox, I dont think any of the ISPs are going to be game for it. Its a totally different ballgame then. |

latest news regarding Reliance LTE plans , Feb-2011 Posted: 07 Feb 2011 10:12 AM PST Everybody is waiting for infotel LTE and hayai broaband project. Hayai broadband may be affordable and mg is very hopeful but as mentioned in the article, infotel will not able to provide data speed starts from 50mbps at affordable prices because LTE instruments are very costly at recent. OR Infotel may provide basic 1mbps at affordable prices. & it is just upgrading network. Hope it will not disappoint us. ---------- Post added at 11:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 PM ---------- Quote: LTE is future , and Future is 4G, present is 4G, so iF ur using wimax than do not regrett, it will contu till another 5 years , bcz after 2013 there will be momentum of LTE all our world, we are lucky we have Mukesh Ambani type of reformers , which work for people and offcourse money too. I just only want from Gov to open up VOIP in India for Local and STD, ---------- Post added at 01:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:43 PM ---------- and i know Bharti Airtel , Vodafone, Idea must comes together for Anti-people move Wireless internet have lots of problem in transmission like signal loss, speed drop, high ping time. So there will be a development but with experience, user may prefer fiber first which is not deployed yet but hayai is planning to deploy in some well known cities. |

Which connection to go for in iPhone 4 ? Posted: 07 Feb 2011 09:07 AM PST Not for any Arguments. I have been a phone geek for 10 years now. I am using phones like iphone 4, blackberry torch , HTC desire HD, Samsung Galaxy S. To be frank . nothing can beat iphone in its speed, touch, quality, luxury, camera. ect. You wont feel difference when you just use all phones a see for a short while. But when you are a regular user you will feel the difference. You cannot compare blackberry and iphone. Both have a different stand. All other phones are trying to compete with iphone and blackberry. iphones apps are touch of perfection. I feel soo good to use facebook, twitter, skype etc. in iphone than my PC. lol. :-P Using wifi in iphone is soo simple and mind blowing. I was a nokia fan years back and used to think iphone a mere waste of money. But now I feel , i cannot live without an iphone. Guys. its worth. !!! ---------- Post added at 10:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:32 PM ---------- Quote: ok here is what i would say. apple does not provide any updates for the original iphone. they do provide iOS 4 for iphone 3g but a lot of new features are not being provided (wallpaper support? multi-tasking?). google provide faster updates for the nexus series. samsung has released android 2.2 for galaxy s from what i know and 2.3 would be released for it eventually. apple iphone 4? not launched in officially india. phones bought from other sources? unlikely to get support from apple in india. though legally purchased phones that are not jailbroken might still be able to get serviced in india considering apple warranties are generally global in nature. but even then iphone 4 is unlikely to be supported here in india. as for nexus one and nexus s. i believe you can still get paid support from htc and samsung service centers. considering these phones are pretty similar in nature to other devices made by these two companies. ---------- Post added at 12:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:23 AM ---------- also... as for updates. majority of owners of iphones in india are running jailbreak editions. and a lot of these users (who are not techies) are generally not likely to update to latest ios versions because they lose their jailbreak. i know people who are still on iOS3 because their phones are working fine and they do not want to risk upgrading to iOS 4 and losing the jailbreak ability. You can update without losing your jailbreak. |

Suggestion for best 3g provider in Punjab besides BSNL Posted: 07 Feb 2011 08:51 AM PST Hi All, I have a Samsung B7722 Dual SIM mobile which has 1 3g + 1 2g SIM slots. I am using 2 connections : BSNL 3g and Airtel 2g. Now Airtel does not have 3g in Punjab so I am thinking of shifting from Airtel to another mobile provider which has 3g in Punjab. My main purpose is to have 2 SIMs,both of which are 3g capable so that I can switch between the 3g SIMs of whichever mobile company is convenient. Please suggest which 3g provider in Punjab circle is best after BSNL ? Thanks |
Your torrents speed please!! Post it here!! Posted: 07 Feb 2011 08:40 AM PST Quote: Quote: Suppose I download a 4 GB movie in lets say 12 hours, now if I'm seeding till 1:1 ratio, I'll have to keep seeding for > 48 hrs right? But if I want to download another movie, I'll have to ensure that my upload bandwidth is free for that torrent, otherwise we'd run into speed issues right? The only option is to stop seeding the current torrent. I don't support a hit and run policy and I always try to maintain a 0.5 - 0.7 ratio on my private trackers, but not everyone's that patient right? |

Why is Wireless Broadband better than Broadband? Posted: 07 Feb 2011 04:51 AM PST No .... that's where advantages of wireless broadband end. 1) Wireless Broadband is generally more expensive than wired one.(for connection with similar speed) 2) Usually they don't provide high speed true unlimited downloading for wireless connection. (except BSNL 3G) 2) Speed of wireless connection can vary greatly depending upon location & no. of simultaneous users connected at a particular time. 3) Wired connection generally offers more constant reliable speed. 4) Wireless connection may get disconnected frequently due to network variation. |
