One is that he is very educated, relatively young to last for 5-10 years of hard work in office and has clean image. Other is that he doesn't belong to any dynasty and this is a big plus. Basically anyone who has experience of working hard and earning a honest living will be better that the Gandhi family on any given day. |
Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus: broadband review Posted: 03 Feb 2011 11:05 AM PST Quote: Hi, i jus bought reliance netconnect broadband+ yesterday even i faced the similar problem but then realized that i have bought reliance broadband+ not Hish Speed 1*, if you want to experince broadband+(3.1Mbps) then change the network settings to use broadband+ instead of HYBRID.before broadband+ comes reliance were using CDMA1* which is nothing but Hish Speed 1*(144kbps). it was very slow then now they introduces broadband+ if you have bought the datacard of broadband+ and you are major city then you should use broadband+ to experience the real speed. HYBRID automatically switches from broadband+ to Hish Speed 1* or vise versa. Hi, I've got a new R net-connect BB+ few days back, called the CC several times regarding the spped, they gave me the same reason (change to BB+ instead of Hybrid) but it does not make any difference. I get only 70 kbps on an average. They have commited 3.1 mbps speed. (Bull shit). :madness: |

It help to download my favourite serial PRISON BREAK with speed maxed out upto 264 KB/sec but i will never even think out about taking reliance as my own connection bcause i hate to see that stupid login page of it after every 6 hours and also their HUGEEE COMPLAINTS 4 CC. |
Idea too is blocking MNP requests from its customers Posted: 03 Feb 2011 09:13 AM PST I was a temp team leader back in the days I was 19 so take it from me. There are times when we know customers are desperate to do such stuff, we push them to the level that they will say the magic words. I don't know magic words they consider in IDEA- maybe "I am recording this call and if you try to convince me to stay or force me to stay by making any excuses, under TRAI (or something like that) I can lawfully sue you and your call centre agency. Why TLs do this? Calls are recorded. |

Whats the difference between 3G & 4G Posted: 03 Feb 2011 08:51 AM PST Yeah its confirmed, they can term Wimax & LTE as 4G for marketing purpose, rather FCC has said that any tech. which provide significant speed upgrades over early 3.5 G(HSDPA - 3.6, 7.2 & 14.4 mbps) can be called 4G for marketing. Thats the reason some of the companies providing HSPA+ with 2xMIMO with peak download rates of 42.2 mbps are also selling it as 4G. |

Web Hosting with US based servers Posted: 03 Feb 2011 08:42 AM PST I know I am posting this in the wrong section. But, the link to the web-hosting section of the forum seems broken. I am always being redirected to the following page. http://tradeshade.com/category/computers/web-hosting/ Admin, if you can, please move this post to its appropriate place. Now for the issue, I am searching for a good web hosting provider with US based servers for one of my clients. My requirements are as follows: 1. A good after sales support and of course, minimal downtime. (We are yet to decide whether we'll go for shared or VPS. That'll depend on the cost involved.) 2. A good control panel like cPanel/Plesk. 3. Ability to set up at least 10 or more sub domains. 4. Preferably 50 or more email ids at least. Awaiting your suggestions and valuable inputs. |

BSN is trying to cheat me...Help !! Posted: 03 Feb 2011 08:30 AM PST Not a new problem (very common our country, specially when its a Govt agency). If you have ample amount of time, you can fight for it and get the problem solved. But if you are a busy person, then I would suggest to FRC for 2G and Rs.1 recharge and get it resolved <- and if this still creates an additional problem, then its your bad luck :( Btw, you didn't mention your location where you faced this problem. |

Airtel Broadband Fair Usage Policy "Protest" Posted: 03 Feb 2011 05:12 AM PST Quote: 1. Just posted some bad about AIRTEL in this forum. 2. I am not sure but i think RELIANCE or HATWAY. REASON for RELIANCE: THEIR connection pretty fast like 264 kb/sec download speed in torrents, but worst CC. REASON for HATHWAY: Bcause i like thier plan, and cheaper than reliance but stupid 10GB FAIR usage policy for my 512 kbps connection. try your local cable ISP or In 2 Cable. they dont have FUP. |
Airtel now promoting 98 rupee Edge plan now that their 3G launch has been a umm... disaster? Posted: 03 Feb 2011 05:04 AM PST Its high time. I have been mentioning this in every post about Airtel. But seriously, Bharti Airtel should concentrate more on their customers, cc service and tariff. All they are boasting about is their profits, the Zain merger, the integrated office at Nairobi and the starting of their services in Sri Lanka. I think they should pack off to SL and operate from Nairobi. MNP has brought the reality forward, most Airtel users are shifting to Vodafone. |

When Hayai Broadband Is Gonna Start In Mumbai... Posted: 03 Feb 2011 03:36 AM PST Quote: That's quite an old post. The situation in question has been resolved but I am awaiting the final decisions. I've already paid some bribes... though probably not enough. I may just need a suitcase full of money... money that I'd much rather spend on bandwidth and network assets. I'm hoping that one of my directors political connections will be able to help so that the delays can be resolved in a more reasonable fashion. I wouldn't provide unlimited on any form of wireless for technical reasons anyway. I may have to come to India to resolve this situation. I was discussing with my board last night the possibility of my coming there sometime later this month or in March to try and hurry things along. I'm also fed up of Indian Internet Speed. Hayai rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Airtel has enabled 3G for all postpaid customers? Posted: 03 Feb 2011 01:51 AM PST |
Posted: 03 Feb 2011 01:28 AM PST Yeah we can only hope.... What happens with BSNL is they have made Huawei to manage the BTS and Network issues. But when ever there is a problem blame game begins with BSNL and Huawei and the issue never really gets resolved. When ever there is an issue they do some R&D and like a dumb plumber fix some thing else. So in places where it was fine earlier also will face problem now and vice versa and this keeps going on and on... |

But Wikileaks just might get the Nobel Peace Prize! Getting nominated is the step before the shortlist is made. That will happen this month. So before getting excited, lets see if WL makes the cut. I wanted to see what the competition was like but the site says... The statutes of the Nobel Foundation restrict disclosure of information about the nominations, whether publicly or privately, for 50 years. The restriction concerns the nominees and nominators, as well as investigations and opinions related to the award of a prize. So only way is to know is what the shortlist has on it. |

Free ways to boost your internet connection. Posted: 02 Feb 2011 11:07 PM PST The fastest DNS doesn't necessarily mean the fastest download. If you use a DNS server in the US, then websites that use anycasting to deliver content are going to mess up the geolocation, so you'll be pulling information from a place that is less than ideal and it will change the route between you and the destination server. I'm not saying ISP DNS is necessarily ideal or even necessarily the fastest, but for the many larger sites that use Akamai or Limelight caching, if your ISP has an Akamai or Limelight cache (as we will), performance to websites served by that cache are vastly improved. Basically a few extra milliseconds for a DNS query if your ISP has slow DNS servers beats the minutes of frustration waiting for a Youtube clip to come from the US (at much slower speeds) or for Windows Updates to come from Microsoft. In our network, if you were on a data plan, using other DNS servers would probably cause you to be using your data-cap unnecessarily, where the traffic might otherwise not counted towards it. |
