Okay this is getting really annoying. Any idea why the connection stops working after every 5 minutes and then constantly redirects to the "Exceeded limit.. track your usage bla bla" page??? This has been happening since morning ! :cry:

I am at a loss here and its turning out to be really grating and downright irritating. Wow it took me half an hour to get this posted :cry:

Please help!!!

Unfortunately the delays are not even in my control. If it were, we would have launched over a year ago. It's not a rollout thing - it's a regulatory thing. Unless and until I get cleared as being NOT a threat to the state of India, nothing can happen.

All the channels u mentioned are "NOT" included in platinum package u shud pay extra to view them. NEO Rs40, Zee Khana khazana Rs 20, also to mention even UTV ACTION, UTV Bindaas, UTV Movies, Discovery Science & Turbo are not in platinum package.

Thats the way it ought to be in a democracy. Was watching Karan's show and Gurcharan Das was giving credit to the media & civil society for hammering on this subject for the past several months now. Its the media that informs us and gets ppl all worked up and forces govt to take hard decisons.

If i download files @ 1mbps speed (approx 360 MB/hr x 24 hrs = 8640 MB) it wont even exist for a day. Then what is the use of this plan. Better stick with 256kbps & save some money. Think wisely...dont waste your hard earned money

The external look is same as compared to Galaxy 5 and Galaxy 551. The phone seems nice. But I hope, some changes are made to the external design in the upcoming phones from Samsung.

No, this is a very very common misconception. The average indian is illiterate and barely educated if at all. You can't compare the average Joe in the USA/UK with graduates in India : which is what everyone seems to do.

Fibre optic internet is the most expensive form of internet available. It's not even available in all regions of, say, NYC or London. So yeah, it's not coming to India anytime soon.
Cable internet is an entirely different matter.
Infrastructure costs aren't that high - almost every home on India with capacity to afford internet has cable TV.
Cable internet is an extremely cost-effective and reliable wired alternative.
The only reason that cable doesn't take off properly is possibly because the cable lines are controlled by local mafias (lolz) who offer craptastic service. But obviously our government won't do anything to fix this.

Of course. However the need to get a permanent Wifi connection at home is what completely befuddles me.

Wifi *IS* being marketed as a "cheap" and better alternative to wired internet all over india, especially in big cities. Wireless internet only supplements wired internet; and has the extremely situational use of access on the move.

There is absolutely zero interest to improve twisted pair dsl/adsl lines and even less interest to implement cable internet.

Wireless internet has fluctuating speeds, horrendous packet loss issues and signal issues. It's great for casual stuff like checking emails occasionally obviously; but total garbage for anything that requires a decent internet connection.

It completely escapes me why people buy 3G in droves for exclusively home usage for higher prices when plans like BSNL home 500 or other unlimited plans that are also quite cheap are so readily available with DSL.

Please try to face facts; it's a common delusion to think India has the most intelligent people in the entire world and everything our government does is glorious.

Vodafone is the best network as compare to others,its customer service is also good and they cared about their customers.

Even i'm also using Reliance WiMax connection from last 2.5 yrs & i never faced any big issue or downtime. I have faced downtime but only for some time not for some day.
I have 7 Reliance WiMax Connection with static IP & all works great.
& for MTNL i have that too as a secondary connection, ya its good but upload sucks in MTNL.

Since last Saturday I have been using Airtel 3G and I am happy with the quality of service - I use it to surf and check emails and stream facebook and youtube videos. It does'nt make me wait endlessly to load webpages. For my downloading needs I have unlimited 2Mbps broadband at home.

ya that was on my PC which in a room with closed doors and windows... thats why so low signals.... dont have a laptop.... and the same sim card doesnt register in UMTS mode on Nokia 7230... so pretty impossible to say how much speed i cud have got in a much open space...

These FAQs are nothing but Airtel's arrogant answers.
Airtel wants people to compare 3G data during roaming with voice calls in roaming. great!

I recently noticed a new(?) plan where you get 4MBPS speed and 4GB limit for 450/- month.
