MTNL IPTV review

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 10:47 AM PST

This is to all users who are fed up with blinking / flashing ADSL / DSL light on their router. Even I faced this issue in my MTNL Broadband (NO IPTV) connection but I am quite sure that the reason for IPTV is also the same. It happens only in those cases where the customer has installed parallel telephone connections at their place or the cables used are too long or extension cables are used or simply the contacts of their cables and / or sockets have caught rust. The probability of the first reason is the highest. I strongly recommend to have a separate line for IPTV Broadband services if you cannot do away with the parallel connections. This particular reason is often not known by MTNL guys (line mens, Call center executives, etc). Hence, they don't know what to do when these complains arrive from the customers repeatedly. In my case, my line man informed about this and I had to live with this issue. Everytime I use to receive a phone call or some one picks the receiver to make a call the ADSL link breaks and again I had to wait for it to stabalize.

BSNL 3G MODEM's for 2000 and 2500

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 10:46 AM PST

Normal pricing currently in market, Check ebay.in or find sellers here itself by checking threads in bsnl 3G section

3.6mbps supported modem Rs.1500 to 1600, you can take idea netsetter which is good huawei model E1550
and best modem is Huawei 1831 which supports speeds till 21/28 mbps and costs Rs.2800/-

Would you still buy junky modem and bang you head on BSNL everyday as their warranty claims is very late + newer speed and good modems are already available everywhere.

BSNL 3G frequent remote server disconnection problem... :(

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 10:31 AM PST

Hi.. I use a Nokia c5-00 to connect my pc, its transfer rate is around 3-4mbps even at peak hours and my network strength is around 97-99% always. Every hour or so it gets either one of the two problems

1) It disconnects by itself <<< I solved this by using an auto-redialing software.

2)It disconnects from the remote server but stays connected online.
Case(0 bit of downstream)(All direct downloads give(s) an unable to contact remote server error or timed out)(Torrents desperately try to reconnect and shows a few kb of upstream)

(I was playing an online FPS at the time of screenshot capture so dont worry about pre-disconnection speeds shown)

In this event the redial software wont work as the connection is still active my only choice is to manually disconnect and redial. This problem started only about 4-5 days back. I formatted and installed a fresh copy of windows 7 and installed all the required blah blah blah... even updated the phone's firmware and tried with another usb cable.

This is really annoying as i used to do all my heavy downloads at night keeping it on auto-redial and now I have to stay awake and keep watching over the bandwidth monitor.

Has anyone managed to solve this issue or am I the only one with this problem..? Please help..

Is there anyway to do this automatically? Perhaps a script or a software..?

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated...

BSNL 3G with Huawei E1762, poor surfing and frequent fluctuations

well respected members sathishn28 and Dushie...

forum is simply a facility where people meet for open discussion/suggestion that has nothing to do with generic and by the way in forum's we discuss only personal inconvenience we face not any national or international issues that can be generic.

thnks to both of you... i thought this forum would be having good members who are ready to help....but instead i found here are some huge or rather i should say some great personalities who are more concerned with decreasing threads and examining the importance of threads.

dear satishhn28 now i would love to close the thread coz now i am aware that if any thread is generic then only it should be posted.

BSNL 3G problem Please Help!!!!!!!!!

Its not related to dns, its related to modem.

I have same modem and i faced same problem. Status showed connected, but no sites would open, and no data transfer in torrent as well.

But now i baught huawei UMG 1831 and using same sim at same location that problem is no more, and also there are no disconnections. Getting nice speeds upto 2.8 mbps and not even a single disconnection in 10 hours and more.

Sorry Torrific does not support downloads from private torrents where you have to maintain an upload ratio.. :( But it works like a charm with other public torrents. My download speeds are around 490-530KBps (approx 4mbps) from torrific and I use a BSNL 3G connection.
