I had connected using bluetooth, (via access point, mobile connect set as default access point on the phone, under bluetooth personal area devices) it might'v been slower than usual because of this connection type...

thanks.

What are access point settings?

I will switch to vodafone on new year since my airtel pack expires on 30th dec

BSNL Broadband Low SNR /discconects in nights

Posted: 26 Dec 2010 11:46 AM PST

essbebe

Thanks for replying
here is what I am getting now:

Operation Mode G.dmt.bis
Max. Bandwidth Down/Up(kbps) 1148 / 952
Bandwidth Down/Up(kbps) 752 / 872
SNR Margin Down/Up(dB) 5.9-6.1 / 7.5
Attenuation Down/Up(dB) 55.0 / 36.6

The disconnect problem has almost gone, even at SNR above 4.0 has not disconnected the modem today. When the disconnection frequently happening the day before yesterday, I found that some half dead red ants inside the ADSL splitter and I cleaned them all- so the result is no disconnection since then. but the lower speed problem still persisting. I use this 512 Kbps plan but I am getting 10-20 KB of speed. is this for the viruses or the admin in the adsl bandwidth server has deliberately reduced my speed?

Here you go, UMTS - Huawei Device Co., Ltd..
some of the model nos may not match, as huawei would directly manufacture and ship to the service provider, but for most you may get the details there.

Paid service to rectify transmittion issue : o

go and buy LNB which is less then Rs 350 of service to tata sky. Any one can install the LNB at his end as its not required so big tech, just with one screw driver which is easly can be found in any house.

Airtel Broadband Switchers (Have you kicked Airtel out of your house yet?) #airtelsucks

Posted: 26 Dec 2010 09:59 AM PST

I use to get 52 KBps on my airtel connection when I was on 512KBps plan I even got 58 to 62 KBps sometimes.....my friend who is also on airtel and still using 512KBps plan gets around 62 to 64 KBps avg and he use to tease me a lot as I use to get speeds in 50's and he use to get it in 60's lol.....so it doesn't really matter I think even I use to think I should get speeds as good as him...but it doesn't happen it could because of many things....so 52 and plus speeds on 512 KBps is good....less may require engineer visit and if he knws what he is doing :D
