Motor Trend sneaks a ride in Ken Okuyama’s K.O 7 Roadster Posted: 30 Oct 2010 09:00 PM PDT Filed under: Concept Cars, Convertible, Performance, Specialty Ken Okuyama K.O 7 Roadster – Click above for high-res image gallery We were awestruck by this car at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show and have been thinking about it ever since. We’ve wondered aloud what it would be like to drive designer Ken Okuyama’s beautiful K.O 7 Roadster, and now, thanks to Motor Trend, we have an idea. The buff book recently got to spend some time with Mr. Okuyama and the 1,740-pound topless sportscar. The K.0 7 Roadster is powered by a 210-horsepower, 1.8-liter Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine, which has been bored out to a full 2.0 liters. In their testing, M/T recorded a 0-60 time of five seconds flat. More importantly, they also state that the butterfly-doored bantamweight is “heroic in the twisties” and is more fun to drive than a Lotus Elise R, a car with which the K.0 7 shares modified underpinnings. The former Design Director for Pininfarina, Ken Okuyama is part of the team that brought us the Ferrari Enzo as well as the Maserati Quattroporte and Birdcage Concept. The K.0 7 Roadster is Okuyama’s vision of melding the craftsmanship and precision found in fine watches with the heart and soul of a lightweight sportscar. Okuyama is only looking to build a few of these per year, but at a price of around 0,000, the K.0 7 was never going to be a mass-production piece. Low-volume also means flexibility, however, and Okuyama admits he is looking at even more powerful engines from Cosworth, or perhaps the powertrain from the dearly departed Honda S2000. Sign us up. Mercedes F800 Style Concept Car Posted: 30 Oct 2010 04:18 PM PDT The F800 Style Concept Car from Mercedes Benz was designed to highlight future Mercedes technology and also give hints as to forthcoming new models such as a replacement for the Ageing Sport-Coupe that sits below the C-class sedan in the range. The F800 is a look at what a possible Compact Coupe from Mercedes Benz could look like, either in a 2 door or possible 4 door format. The concept car itself features a minivan style sliding rear door for easy access, but this would unlikely make production. It has what Mercedes describes as a multi drive platform meaning it can accommodate electric motors along side either a range extender hybrid combustion engine, a fuel cell, or a larger amount of batteries, whichever format the customer chooses. |

Posted: 30 Oct 2010 12:44 PM PDT @Videocon D2H Team 'DD Bangla' channel used to be listed under 'Bengali' group in Mosaic (PIP), but since yesterday it's missing/gone. I've called & also mailed d2h customer care about DD Bangla not being shown in the channel list, but the reply I'm getting is that (quoting mail from customercare@d2h.com) Quote: This is to inform you that channel DD Bangla are currently available under East Active Interactive Service. However, we have taken a note of your feedback to include these channels in main channel list for future reference and shall notify to all customers once any changes are implemented. Also I've tried scanning the transponder many times but in vain. Kindly help. |

Posted: 30 Oct 2010 12:08 PM PDT hi.. you have to recharge your mobile number..ex": if u want 6 gb internet(1gbday+5gb) then the value of 547 then u have to frc 547.. it will come with 30 days validity..like this method being carried out ....no deduction from balance and all... In prepaid you can change or stop using internet every 30 days .. if u recharged your number with data plans then the next 30 days u will have to use that plan afterwards u can change the plan or you can pause then u can use like wise...if u want continuously u havr to recharge every month on expiry date..If u go for long time plan.. same will be followed like you will have to recharge ur number as per the plan..if u recharged your number for longtime plans like for 7 months then u cannot pause until 7 months so beware of it..prepaid plans are little costlier than postpaid plans..my suggestion is don;t go for long term plans because the other networks like docomo, airtel etc are heading to launch the services as of now use bsnl internet..in future if u think to keep bsnl then its ok but confirm other service provider services too...so dont buy modem from bsnl and locked up with that even unlocking the modem is also a quite annoying step... i recommend zte and huawei 3g modems... bcoz those are very good and cheap too.,,not that cheap :) if u want more comparitive and best then go for huawei...i dunno know wat are the models yet launched in india by huawei.. so check in ebay for good 3G modems and purchase it.....have a nice day.....any doubt in this ask me i will help you..... Posted: 30 Oct 2010 10:40 AM PDT I have already dealt with this under various heads. However, here is an interesting write up. Please do read why we also need a national broadband network. 1.5 months of tata photon plus - Now I know why airtel is best of the worst Posted: 30 Oct 2010 10:21 AM PDT I think it would be having more users without either the spectrum being accounted for or even the backend being hauled up to support more subscribers. I hate it when companies don't honor their commitments, issue misleading advertisements and have a pathetic customer care as a "package". One doesn't have a choice when a wireline would not be feasible for many reasons and suffer as a result of this. |
Torrents begin very fast, but get painfully slow gradually Posted: 30 Oct 2010 10:16 AM PDT Okay. This is strange and I am facing the exact problem. Am on a 2Mbps UL line. As mentioned by the OP, I get 230 to 280 kBps during the initial 10 minutes. Then, the speed goes to 50 to 150 kBps range. I tried enabling / disabling the encryption levels in the torrent client. Tried to limit the upload speeds too. Nothing seems to be working. I know Airtel uses throttling mechanisms. However, encrypting the download should circumvent the tactics deployed by those machinery, right? It is not occurring though. |

What would you do with a 100mbit/s or 1Gbit/s connection? Posted: 30 Oct 2010 10:04 AM PDT From a doctor's perspective. Tele-radiology is a big thing. I know of a person who had 128 kbps DSL with a back up 128 kbps way back in 1998 (when I first met him). I would want to explore something similar in my line of work soon; indeed a bandwidth of such magnitude would indeed be God sent. I would need a server to run the software, a back up system for giga bytes of data for every case and of course the bandwidth magic can help me out. |

My issues with Tata Sky DTH Service Posted: 30 Oct 2010 09:52 AM PDT Quote: I believe, some provide free STBs as well. Double bonanza!! Even if none of the above is available, why suffer? Jump out and be free of worries, tension and negative thoughts/vibrations. An apt tamil proverb is "kittathayin vettena mara" - if you can't get it, forget it! |
