So now my plan is 2Mbps till 30GB and from 30-100GB 1 Mbps and after that day speed reduces to 512Kbps for only 1299 per month.

Thats actually a decent plan.
Only problem is that you got lucky by getting the double speed upgrade.

Shit thats bad. So its voda, airtel, idea.....no 4th guy in all this? It will like what carriers have done in the US, 2 or 3 having control over the whole market.

On the price of 3G services to consumers, he added that the high cost of spectrum combined with the fact that each operator has only 5 Mhz of bandwidth will ensure that there will not be any unlimited plans
So what good will 3g do exactly? Instead of opening facebook pages in 8 sec now they will open 2 sec?

I actually expected such things from airtel people, seeing how they have shaped their broadband plans. Vodafone isn't exactly golden either considering their current GPRS plans(atleast in Delhi).

**** airtel, vodafone, idea then. I ain't ever having 3G. Well, not atleast on the basis how things are perceived from that article.

Switched between MTNL Broadband and Airtel Broadband?

Posted: 18 Sep 2010 11:44 AM PDT

well i have used both for substantial periods of time and i think i have posted my experience somewhere..will try linking to that post.

I will be signing up for a new MTNL connection as an additional connection to the Airtel connection that i have in about a fortnight...will post then about any improvements or deterioration that i notice in the service of MTNL

ok found it here it is http://broadbandforum.in/mtnl-broadb...an/#post400749

Quote:

* First and foremost, the obvious - MTNL no Fair Usage Policy
* airtel is slightly more stable than MTNL.
* MTNL has better pings (latency).
* Airtel has better QoS.
* Customer service of Airtel is much better.
* MTNL has a stupid 6 hr auto-disconnect policy.
* Speeds with MTNL are slightly lower than promised coz of PPPoE overhead loss, Airtel has more than adequate compensation for overhead loss hence most people get slightly more than promised speed.
* Airtel blocks several VoIP service providers and periodically tends to censor other web content as well, MTNL has a clean record no blocks whatsoever.
* Installation was a good experience in both cases, with MTNL i just placed a request online and broadband was activated on my line in 2 days. Airtel needed to install a landline as well so they took longer.

Cost Of BSNL 3g New sim?

Posted: 18 Sep 2010 09:45 AM PDT

Hi all,
According to this page,
the cost says 99rs. So, after buying sim for 59rs, should i have to recharge 99rs to get that 180 days(500mb free for 3 months) plan?
But when i asked in bsnl customer center, they are not aware of this plan. They just asking me to go for General plan and total cost of 180rs for 180 days validity.
Could you please any one tell me what is the actual cost?
I need 3g sim just for browsing and downloading.
So, that 99rs recharge will increase main account validity too?
(for eg, in airtel main account balance and gprs validity are different. Is it like same in bsnl 3g too?)

Tata Sky HD DTH Gold Pack can now be Added online

Posted: 18 Sep 2010 08:48 AM PDT

This HD package addition should be handled in smart way.
For customer without HD STB, this option should not be displayed.
And as its just 1 HD pack at moment, it should be actually available by default for customers with HD STB. Later if they start giving more HD packs or individual HD channels (a-la-carte) then then can give this option.
