Tata Photon+ shameful customer care/service (or lack of it!!!) Posted: 14 Sep 2010 12:35 PM PDT Hi All, I was very hesitant to post my issue in this forum but Tata Photon+ customer service left me no choice. Tata Photon+ customer service turns out to be having reprehensible characteristics - no commitment, poor technical competency and shamelessness to repeatedly say sorry. I was using Tata Photon Plus post paid connection from December 2009 and I made switch to Prepaid in July 2010 as my usage got limited to travel. I raised a connection issue on 17 Aug 2010 and a complaint was registered against it. I got the error message while connecting "PPP link control protocol was terminated" and it doesnt connect to Internet. Later I got a callback and they recommended few steps which didnt work for me. After subsequent followup calls they asked me to visit a Tata Indicom Hub but they were clueless about what should be done and raised a case from their side on 24th Aug 2010. From then on it was a grueling campaign; I was a frequent caller to Tata Indicom Photon Customer Care centre as well as visited almost all Tata Indicom centres in Cochin without any progress on this issue. The sad part which really pissed me off was they never fulfilled any of their deadlines. I remember fews names like Jagan, Azad, Nimesh, Abdul etc. who made commitments to fix it by so and so date but nothing happened. And couple of days back I figured out that I am able to connect when I change the Network Settings to "1x mode only" though it is very slow. I visited Tata customer care centre and informed the same but they still sounded clueless as ever and raised another case. Today 15th Sep 2010, its almost 4 weeks, every time I call its the same old story, I feel miserable for being a Tata Photon+ customer. I would like to warn anyone who is considering Tata Photon+ prepaid; Beware you are on your own!!! Dear Forum users, please let me know how we can deal with such services whose office danglings say "Performance Guaranteed" and displays lot of customer commitments. Like they will do a call back if you wait on call for more than few mins; for me that few mins didnt come even after 25mins of wait today. So no thing is guaranteed except their "Hello" and abject "Sorry". In the end you will feel like "Hell" and "Sorry". Thanks Asif Tata Photon+ Number: 9288099603 |
Airtel Broadband Switchers (Have you kicked Airtel out of your house yet?) #airtelsucks Posted: 14 Sep 2010 11:43 AM PDT err... I think you know the answer to that... You bought the modem means its definitely yours regardless of what you paid for it(costly/cheap)! tday's iPhone is trow's China phone lol... If you paid deposit of Rs. 1000 (Non-refundable) for the modem, then its theirs : P Always send mails and don't delete them to keep them as proof in future correspondence and keep following up with whichever service provider/company till the issue is settled because let's face it, we are in India and things get done real late that's why everything is called IST (Indian Stretchable Time) here. For disconnection see to it that you write a letter and hand it over in the Airtel office and also send a mail so that you will get a confirmation and a complaint/query number. See to it that on the last day of the billing cycle, they have indeed disconnected your connection and you have to be a little responsible and switch off/disconnect the modem entirely from the line and refrain from using the connection. Don't disconnect the phone(don't make calls though) incase they need to contact you or they might bullshit you that they did not have an opportunity to contact you when they definitely will have both your mobile number and mail id : P Yep I've heard that before so trust me I'm not kidding... Customer care has indeed got bad in Airtel because I received a call like a week after I made my complaint and no reply to the main questions asked so probably I guess BSNL beckons ; ) lol btw BSNL speed on 512kbps does not really stay stable it depends on your luck sometimes hammers in more sometimes the connection is a little bit below par, but thank god the youtube videos are not buffering(btw I don't open 10 at a time, I am not impatient : P)!!! The only difference you'll see between Airtel and BSNL speed tests is in airtel test the connection speed will get limited to the set value whereas in BSNL you'll suddenly see spikes way above the mentioned speed!!! I know it doesn't count bcoz it might be temporary spikes but nonetheless atleast it spikes upwards instead of downwards ; ) maybe trying to make up for the days that the speeds suck I guess... lol Not getting enough time on the comp these days or will kinda find out the pattern of the speed changes/timings. Why oh Why do ISPs change their tactics to sicker ones?!!! Show good first impression and screw on second impression lol... Ah well let's see what's the option? 750 plus 100 modem rental 512kbps, NO FUP... Okay... ; ) |
Suggest me a perfect Modem please.. Posted: 14 Sep 2010 11:22 AM PDT Just ordered this from Amazon, D-Link ADSL2/2+ Modem with Wireless Router |
Teracom T2-B-Gawv1.4U10Y-BI Night Unlimited Solution! Posted: 14 Sep 2010 10:58 AM PDT I think you can try the autoconnect scheduler. This is the best scheduler so far Ive seen. It does all the work from switching on pc , connecting to internet , running you p2p client , rebooting ur modem, disconnecting internet and shut down your PC. You can rely on it. Thanks to dexterdarklab for developing it. (You can you the following link to dwnld it) Auto-connect Download scheduler « PC-Gyaan |
