I live in Lucknow and normally I like to play online multiplayer games.The average pings I get on Indian servers is always greater than 250.Usually on any other broadband service the ping is less than 100.Please inform me that why is this happening? I heard that the routing has changed to Flagtel.If thats the case then please revert all those changes as it causes a lot of trouble to those who like to play online.Thank you

Tried it for a couple of weeks - not a big fan. While it helps save a lot of time on a few words (the guesses are really good), but at some places it gets so badly stuck that the time you end up wasting negates the time saved otherwise. Back to the stock keyboard for me!

Still,doesnt interference weaken the wifi signal strength?? Bcz I was getting 'Excellent' siganl strength in my laptop even though not connecting.
And I dont have any cordless ph nearby.Landphone is 2 feet nearby,and refrigerator about 10 feet away from modem/router.

I agree with you on the pricing front - I spoken [to them] on numerous occasions about their stupid pricing at conferences and while they're happy to stand up and argue, they've never really justified their pricing to me satisfactorily. I sure as hell don't understand why it is what it is, but hey, not my problem!

In the long run Fiber is a better option as it's the only way BSNL can go forward if only they modify their mindset and charge properly: them spending taxpayer and ISP licensees money on VDSL now is just wasteful.

BSNL has some several lakh kilometers of network - I've not seen them all, but from what I have seen on my excursions outside of Mumbai, I've not seen any DSL stuff cabinetized. That being said, the trend these days is to put such equipment individually in new housing societies which means there is a distinct possibility that is has been done in some places, but where those places are I simply don't know - I would expect (hope) that in complexes built in the last 5-7 years it's done this way.

A few possible reasons: His phone line for some reason takes the scenic route to the exchange (I've seen this too often, even in first-world countries) OR his line is noisy OR his cabling is old/bad quality OR he's plugged in to different equipment than you are which isn't as good (BSNL buys from whoever is the cheapest on any given day so there's a bit of hodge-podge going on, and the equipment used in one state/city might be different from what's used in another state/city)... not knowing your area though it's a wild guess.

80km is the upper limit on GPON, but most equipment suggests <20km. In our deployments we're keeping them below 10kmand the vast majority are below 5km (it allows us to localize things much more effectively and offer better redundancy). Also depends on the quality of the optics, how many splits there are, transmission power and stuff like that, but it doesn't get affected as much as copper (usually 0.2dBm/KM is about standard IIRC). Fortunately, fiber is such that it either works or it doesn't: if you have a faulty fiber install, it'll just not work at all.

With copper, you've got degradation, interference/crosstalk, splits/joins, moisture and of course, the problem where it can work intermittently, resulting in you experiencing problems until the technician comes around and says "no, it's working fine" then he closes the ticket and goes home, then it screws up after he leaves again :D

Fiber is more difficult (costly, time consuming and requires some skill) to install, but requires very little maintenance and no powered equipment between you and the local point of presence (CO/exchange), whereas copper can be installed more quickly but is subject to certain limitations.

Pl note the directive from TRAI recommends certain documents for ID proof & Address proof, we just follow the same. Adhaar card is not part of the list, and they need to represent the same to Ministry of I&B to include the same. pl google and you will find many institutions including insurance firms do not accept due to SEBI guidlines.

Ah Jaymin, but thats what manu is trying to explain. Internally Gmail doesnt really use dots so esentially myname@gmail.com & my.name@gmail.com is the same. And by this logic. Once anyone creates an id myname@gmail.com, it would not allow anyone to create my.name@gmail.com as well.

In fact, now that I recall, it used to allow filters to be set in a way so that you can categorize mails & dont really need multiple email IDs, something of that sort. Had not fully understood it then. Now I think they must have meant, for example, you can share myname@gmail.com to friends & my.name@gmail.com to business associates & when they send a mail. It will be able to recognize based on filters and place it in appropriate folders & hence no need of two separate IDs.
